[Injury] Jalen Williams heads back to the locker room after grabbing at his hamstring.
the season of doom and despair every team got like 4 injured dudes
Pistons got everyone on the team available
Lol good job jinxing them
I ain’t worried about it
Oh no
Why would you say this?!?
Maybe he’s a mole.
Put me in the screenshot.
Oh shit
Someone needs to use the remindme bot on this for when the Pistons are hobbled in the Playoffs
Haha have to respect the balls deep double down
I’ll triple down.
Luckily no one is worried about them, even healthy
Damn. No one?!?! We suck 😔
Flair up, little bitch
This is how you speak to people?? lol
I’m a nuggets fan. I want you and everyone else healthy. You’d be lucky to get a game off of us.
Buddy you’re in real danger of being on a 3 game losing streak to the wizards I’d maybe calm down a little bit lol
Thankfully we dodged that bullet lol
I don’t think I’m wrong for being confident about our team’s ceiling healthy bruh lol
I don’t know what your team is mane
Nobody will believe me but same with the Sixers lol
Didn’t they have a few games earlier this season where all the starters were injured ?
Malik Beasley?
He ain’t on the team
The Grizzlies have already had to use 5 hardship exceptions this year because of all the injuries :(
Didn’t you guys have a similar issue years ago ? Or was it last year ? It was tough to watch. :(
Yeah, two years ago when Ja hurt his shoulder and was out for the year they started piling up. This is from a Memphis paper at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
“The Grizzlies played the Denver Nuggets on Sunday at FedExForum without 13 players. Only two players remained from the 15-man roster. Each of the remaining six active players had been acquired since January.”
“The Grizzlies used a total of 12 injury hardship exceptions plus one suspension exemption gained during Morant’s absence. The list of long-term injuries throughout the season allowed them to apply for 10-day contract waivers.”
Nobody but Jaren Jackson played more than 65 games and he only played 66 that year.
Just in time for Tatum to come back fully healed.
That’s a super fast achilles tear recovery
Not really. If Tatum came back in the same amount of days as Dominique Wilkins came back, it would be mid February return. And Dominque had traditional surgery vs Speedbridge that Tatum got, which is supposed to heal more quickly.
Dru Smith of the Heat came back in 9 months recently. Multiple NFL players have done it as well.
It’s not like we are talking about Tatum coming back in 7 or 8 months. Tatum tore it May 12th. 9 months is February 12th.
The Thunder are so good Everybody is saying a team that’s 8-2 in their last 10 games has to get it together. The Thunder haven’t been bad not even close just not as dominant and that’s why people think their overrated all of a sudden. They still are like 30+ games over .500 LOL
What you’re saying is true but at the same we’re not looking like the championship caliber team that we were without iHart (which seems obvious)
Just wanna have everyone healthy in the playoffs
Going 11-7 in their last 18 is far more concerning than you’re giving them credit for.
The hardest part of repeating is staying healthy.
I have no idea if the numbers bear this out, but it certainly feels like stars are getting injured at a really high clip.
havent the twolves had amazing health?
Raptors got hit with five injuries in like one week
That’s why depth and fit are uber important.
Seems like some Magic fans think we’re the only team that has had to deal with injuries
Hopefully he’s out for only a month. He was starting to get back into his best as well
If anything, maybe it allows him to push some more strength and range of motion in that wrist without worrying about being ready to play.
I like the way you think
Nuggets fans have been experts at rationalizing why injuries aren’t actually the worst thing for a team this year lol
i mean hey somehow our bench developed into legit pieces when our entire starting lineup, backup center and 7th man got injured.
Entire starting? Murray?
Pretty sure he was out for a few games back then
He’s been out off and on and playing a bit hobbled. GTD a few times while Jokic has been out. Their win against Philly is the main one they’re referencing
Indubitably
We really should just let him be 110% before he comes back
Steal some corpse’s hand and sew it on to Jalen’s wrist!
How can someone be 110%?
It’s a figure of speech
You go out there. You want to play good. You hope you play good
DIABLOS! NUMBER ONE!! ✌️😤
Elliot Richards. Spittin’ glass at yo’ ass
All good, happened to my bum ass 10 days ago and I’m back on the court already
Rest is good, his wrist still isn’t 100% given his 3pt shooting.
I believe it is 100% it’s that his shot isn’t back. You’ve gotta remember he sorta relearned how to shoot during last years playoffs. Working the mechanics back is what’s up now.
People underrate the mental aspect of coming back from injuries like this
Joe Burrow had the same injury. Took him a long time to look like himself again. His job is more wrist dependent than JDub’s, and it happened eventually. But it took a LONG time.
5-6 weeks seems to be the going rate for muscle injuries these days. Teams seem to be extra cautious with them due to re-injury concerns I think.
The problem is that these things linger. So unless he waits 3 full months he’ll return and likely pull it again. Which reminds me, we still haven’t seen Jalen Green this season, smh
He was just getting back in rhythm… brutal for jdub. Hope it’s not too bad for him
Idk about that. He still was only shooting like 1 three a game which is a bizarre drop off for him. Although he wasn’t that efficient last year anyway.
He’s done a great job the last few games of getting downhill and getting a lot paint touches. Also distributing the ball really well on top of his same great defense. He needs the shooting to come around at some point though
It’s not bizarre because he had two wrist surgeries.
Series vs Nuggs might come down to AG’s vs JW’s health.
Might not be a series
Sorry to see that for you guys. He was finally starting to get back into rhythm. Hopefully it’s not too bad and he can recover quickly
For real. I want everyone healthy for this amazing showdown we hopefully have in the playoffs. Basketball heaven if everyone is healthy to go against one another that series.
Hopefully just a strain and not a tear or anything like that he needs the games to work into game shape man
Fuck injuries.
i like jdub im sad hes been injured all year, people been slandering his game as a result
Which is crazy bc without him the thunder wouldn’t be champs
yea he deserves more respect, one of the best 2 way guys itl
Of the most common lower body injuries, this is probably the best one to get
I would disagree, besides the catastrophic ones the hamstring is literally the worse because it lingers the entire year
Scoot was supposed to be reevaluated in 4–8 weeks from a hamstring injury before the season. He hasn’t played yet, and we don’t know when he will be back. Hamstrings can be terrible
Yeah but this team can quite literally sit him until the first game of the playoffs without a worry in the world
The Thunder are a great team but I dunno if they’re “We can just sit our 2nd best player the rest of the year with zero consequences” good. I don’t know if anyone is.
He could sit the rest of the regular season and I’d still expect to be a top 3 seed at worst but coming back rusty in the playoffs would probably be a disaster
He could sit the rest of the regular season and I’d still expect to be a top 3 seed at worst
I mean, I’d still expect the 1 seed. But yea, as you said, that’s a bad spot for the playoffs. Hopefully we can bring him back with time to reacclimate like we did with Chet last year.
OKC would still be the first seed without Jalen Williams, what?
Lmao Chet is absolutely better and more impactful than Jalen Williams, the hip injury from last year fooling everybody (Chet at the start of 24-25 was quite clearly better than JDub too)
And they barely lose without Jalen anyways, they still win first round without him, Ajay is their second best offensive player they’ll be fine against a Warriors team with him starting.
He’s our third best ,layer and this is more a regular season take, since we basically did that with Chet last year
Sure if their plan is to lose in the playoffs they can do that
Harden tried playing on a hamstring during the playoffs and lost his burst for the next season
Yeah, a hamstring will fully heal eventually, but it takes forever. Jalen Green has basically been out all season from a strain back in like training camp. He had one great game and immediately reinjured it.
Suns are being extra cautious with him now. Hamstrings are tricky because when everything feels good again you still need more time to be sure.
Yeah I guess I don’t really consider ankle sprains when I think of them.. they are probably the best. The rest just seem to be season ending
Hard disagree, it’s always been the most stubborn and hardest to put behind you. I know calf strains are being given the boogeyman treatment because people think they cause torn achilles, but hammy’s are the ones I dread most.
Eh hamstring injuries always seem like they can be nagging for some guys.
Absolutely not.
Compared to a rupture of a tendon yes I agree this is better…. But this is probably the worst muscle to injure in the lower body. It has the highest rate of injury recurrence and injuries to hamstring are an indicator of future hip/hamstring/knee/calf issues. Not necessarily catastrophic but can linger, making it a huge hassle.
Depends how bad it is, a hammy off the bone could require surgery with a 3 month recovery.
I have seen alot of hamstring injuries, it is usually not a good sign if the player grabs it straight away. This could mean 2 x things, he hasn’t done a hamstring before or hasn’t for some time and was initially shocked by the tighness of the back of the thigh, or it was a bad one.
Hopefully only minor of course and a good thing he wasn’t running at full speed so we will see.
That’s fair. The motion he was executing didn’t seem like a common hammy tear motion, but I’m not used to seeing them in basketball. I tore the absolute shit out of mine trying to slow down from a sprint
Khris Middleton tore his off the bone doing on court work in the offseason a while back. It happens and he missed the first 50 games of the season.
Jesus
Let’s just hope it was a bad cramp 😁
Mild ankle sprain probably best. Hamstrings are tricky and could come back any time if not careful
Read that in Norms voice
I feel like it’s the worst to get because the hammy can feel fine but it may still not be ready and getting injured again will cause even more time off.
I’m optimistic. I feel like if it was something really bad, he would have had a worse reaction. He’s not putting any wait on the ailed leg, but he’s able to still use it to balance himself. Then again, that also just be because it would hurt even more to do anything else. It’s not as obvious as an Achilles, that’s for sure. Get well soon, George Kittle and JDub.
ugh, he was really shooting it well today too - would have been a huge step in his wrist rehab
70 wins is back on the menu boys
Of course this is the only Thunder clip that ever gets posted immediately.
Hopefully he’s not out more than a month.
Be the change you wish to see
Yeah, Thunder fans. I even wrote a whole ass walkthrough on the OKC sub on how to do it!
(I’m a busy boy and am rarely free to upload live. So, I thought this would be the next best thing. lol)
Idk if you know, but fans are supposed to be the one posting clips on here. It really says more about the lack of thunder fans engagement than anything
Why do fans of teams act like they have no control over which clips get posted
What in the fuck is this bitchmade mindset lmfao
Whining about clips? Seriously?
the victim complex goes crazy
why don’t you or some other thunder fan post the clips you want highlighted
First of all, nobody stops you from posting your own team highlight.
Second, there are like 5 SGA highlight everytime they win. Hell there is one on the front page right now
Cry
Sorry no one else gives a shit about your team otherwise
Wow, didn’t realise coping strategies were that serious. Protect your mental health sir, don’t let the champs get you down
I legit forgot the thunder won because that few people give a shit about them. As much as you want to watch a tall white person think they’re black and a couple other guys suck off a guy who is smooth down there no one else wants to
I think it’s just you with the porn fantasies
😂😂😂
I think you’re projecting buddy
People love to see us suffer
I commented this, and immediately saw a SGA highlight from a heat fan. Much respect.
Think of it like a flat tax.
Yeah let’s celebrate injuries because we’re dust due for that sure bud
wahhhhhh waaahhhhhhhh we are the champs and also have the most draft picks but r/nba hates us waaaaahhhhhhhh
Yes
Like the entire NBA community hates us
We still wanna see you lose at your healthiest
[deleted]
Well for one thing we can afford to live quite comfortably
Currently chilling quite hard in OKC. Enjoy wherever it is you are. Don’t tell me I don’t care
They’re really good at low education rates! And obesity!
Go tell your star player to pay child support
He already did
Ouch get well soon
Hamstring injuries are so brutal man. Stay strong j dub
Oh no, jDub Take my “whatever you hurt here”
would be surprised if he comes back before the all star break
No no no no no no. No no no
Hopefully he’s ready by playoffs
We’ll see him after the asb
Sigh now we see if the theory is correct… that jdub was the reason they were playing 500 ball
Welp, team is cursed with way too many injuries
Rough season for him so far.
Rough year playing back from that wrist injury from last year. He played better injured tbh
He might as well just take the season off
Dude hamstring strains suck. Dealing with one right now. You can feel great but one wrong motion and you’re back to square one. He’s gotta be out minimum a month
ah fuck
“At what point do we start calling him injury prone”
🤷🏻♂️it’s what all you hatin ass mfers say about wemby
When is the NBA gonna realize they need to cut the number of games per season? If it’s all about the money for them, which of course it is, people would much rather watch fewer games where guys are healthy than more games where key guys are out.
Get back before the playoffs J-dub, we got a championship to win
I got Jalen Green ptsd man, hope it aint too bad.
Prayers up, hate injuries like this
Uh-oh.
damn
Hopefully a minor strain, I’m sick
Woah, as an older man, is this not normal every now and then? lol
Another hamstring injury surely the league will be concerned
First Bo Nix, now this. Today has been unkind to my orange and blue teams
How tragic
Is this the good or bad J. Williams
For a moment I was wondering why there is a blind man on the floor with his stick?
Haven’t they had a worse record since his return?
https://media.tenor.com/2QWcWpM9r3gAAAAM/good-hate.gif
damn OKC about to go 20+ and 1
That’s gonna be a couple of months…
That ain’t good.
God damn. Rest him till the playoffs. The thunder are good enough to win 60+ games without him. Even though OKC might take a few more losses, i see this situation the same as the denver situation. Theres more than enough role players that can step up and get some dubs
74 is back on the menu, boys! /s
Thunder are gonna go on a huge winning streak without him again aren’t they
noooo bruh not the hamstring
my condolences to jdub this has not been a fun season for him, but the upside is that the thunder are good enough and far enough ahead in the standings that they can probably afford to be careful with managing this to a greater extent than any other teams in the west. hamstrings are not something to fuck with, as any rockets fan is well aware
OKC just became a better team
NBA will get him right. At times I think they will abandon the mission because no one took to it…but they didn’t have a good backup plan
oh no.. anyways
Such a weird comment
Fax
aw man thunder are about to get better
Me when I don’t watch basketball games
he’s an ok player. thunder will be better without him.
Maybe in the extremely short term, but not overall. He is our secondary offensive creator. The offense is virtually non-existent without him and Shai on the floor
thunder will be fine without him.
Cringe
“cringe” what a dork
They’re better without him no?
I mean technically the record shows that but that was more of a schedule thing lol 😂
Absolutely not lol, but love the rhetoric
He was literally just starting to get back into form. 10 assists to 0 turnovers last game and looked like he finally had the 3 ball going today. Awful timing to cop an injury again right as he was finally catching a rhythm.
Fuck, no chance we win this game now 😭
The man had 3⁄5 shooting and shot 2⁄2 from three before getting injured?
Thunder boutta go on a run now that super cornball is out for a while
Cheering on injuries for any player is weirdo behavior
