[Lockedupjb] Yeah Tatum can’t wait to play with Simons 😂
The
!Jayson Tatum - Available (Coach’s Decision) !< Tweet is gonna hit like Crack.
Big time
ESPN: Tatum attempts altercation out of frustration. Is it time to split up the Jays??
I’m telling you all Boston has to do is keep doing what they’re doing stay in one of those top four seeds Tatum will come back and if that happens in a seven game series, I trust them over anyone in the eastern conference
Sounds corny but it really is different here. They just don’t see the vision.
Idk how reliable Tatum off an Achilles tear will be, like especially if he comes back earlier than a typical healing timeline will he still be a positive? And he definitely would be if he pushed himself but do you want him exerting that much off this injury
If hes back, hes recovered and ready to go. Hes not going to be himself, but hes still going to be good.
At worst he can be used as a bench option. Imagine having Tatum come off the bench against opposing bench players?
However they choose to use him will be less minutes for an inferior player, so its just additive in theory. The o ly way it wouldn’t be awesome is if there are too many issues incorporating him into the current dynamic and he messes thi gs up, which I can’t imagine.
like especially if he comes back earlier than a typical healing timeline will he still be a positive?
This is actually part of the argument for bringing him back on the quicker timeline.
Forget the injury for a moment, if a perfectly healthy Tatum sat out for 2 years without playing, he’d come back a shell of himself.
Injuries are obviously bad for players, but so is extended time away.
It’s a balancing act. You don’t want them to come back too soon or they’ll get hurt again, but you don’t want them to come back too late or they’ll struggle to come back as the same person.
One of the main reasons doctors have pushed for these quicker turnarounds is to try and limit the time they have to sit out, to limit the physical and mental toll that comes with sitting out so long.
I mean i get what you’re saying, but that’s not exactly an apples to apples comparison.
Like jordan when he came back in the playoffs for that series against the magic with the 45 jersey, he wasn’t himself because he was rusty. Next season he was back to himself
With tatum the concern is will he physically be the same, and more importantly, we don’t want him to re-injure the achilles or any other part of his body due to his kinetic chain being off. A recent example of that would be caitlin clark in the wnba last season. She had a thigh injury, came back too soon, and that turned into a groin injury on the same side. Came back too soon from that, ended up with a groin injury on the other side, shut down for the season.
So i just think being cautious about an injury, so it doesn’t snowball into an avalanche of injuries like with klay, is more than worth the risk of him just being a little rusty.
You can shake off rust, you can’t shake off multiple major leg injuries.
Part of me hopes we hold onto him and that happens….but a talented big is needed.
A talented big is currently in development in Maine in Williams. Queta and Garza are doing a pretty good job filling the rebounding quota, and not completely getting destroyed on defense.
Losing Simons for a talented big only ensures that we don’t have dynamic scoring off of the bench. I feel like Simons can get to his spot when he needs to, almost better than some first scoring options on some teams.
Is this a championship team? No, but it wasn’t supposed to be. Simons has helped supplement some of Tatum’s scoring, and helped make this team a legitimate threat to beat anyone, just probably not enough in a 7 game series against anyone in the west.
And even you’re selling Queta and Garza short. They both have been some of the better defensive centers in the league this year. People are not grasping that Queta has played like a top 10 center but doesnt have the counting stats because he only plays 24-25 minutes a game. Garza has quickly skyrocketed right into similar territory to Queta. Our big rotation is one of the best in the league this year. Will that stay that way going forward? Who knows they both gotta prove consistency but right now I have no reason to believe anything will change from what we are already doing.
Wish management felt like you…I’ve always wanted to keep Simons.
Brad is on record saying how much he loves Simons. He won’t be traded unless it’s for something really good.
Simmons for Giannis who says no?
No
But who are you?
Brad said multiple times he’s not putting a ceiling on this group. It’s kinda crazy that the lead decision maker is more open minded about this team than the fans LMAO
amari williams from the stint he had today was terrible lol
Tatum can play PF and rebound like a king so Tatum back is gonna make out big rotation feel a bit betted
Our bigs are already rebounding at an incredibly high level.
It’s more a question of whether they can handle playoff basketball where you’re getting picked apart by elite talent.
Like Queta has a very high center of gravity, so he gets pushed around a bit by opposing bigs. Garza might get bullied by guards hunting him in mismatches.
People look at Garza and they remember the clip of Enes Kanter/Freedom struggling against prime Harden, and then the camera cuts to the OKC coaches saying “can’t play Kanter”.
love this, JT hyping Anferno up!
No real centers after Queta + a fireballer like Simons? Tatum might average a triple double
simons and tatum will probably never play together simons is gone after this season
Yeah unfortunately I don’t think he’s going to be on the team by the time Tatum comes back because of their salary cap situation.
I mean if they don’t plan on making any moves and the long-term salary now that they’re below the second apron are worth dealing with then that’s fine. I want them to play together because of the floor spacing and his ability is much more than I thought he was capable of and he’s the perfect sixth man.
