post-prime Dwight is one of the biggest wastes of talent. his back injury knocked him back from being the best athlete at C to merely one of the best athletes at C, and he still absolutely should’ve been a top center in the league if he committed to playing a complementary role. but nope, he wanted to reinvent himself as a post up big who occasionally tried to run point, and he was just awful at all those things.
Kobe wanted Dwight to take the “Tyson Chandler” role, and Dwight refused, and instead spent the next 6 years of his career doing anything but that.
Dwight was probably the worst passer of every superstar I can recall, and bled a lot of value on defense by goaltending at a comically high rate.
