Yep. People always point to CP3 only getting like 10-15 MPG, but those were frequently horrendous stretches.

It’s not like LAC was just getting obliterated like their first game every single night. They often were in games and had some leads off the back of Kawhi/Harden playing well, but then the bench came in and got murdered.

CP3 struggled to get the ball up the court quickly which put a lineup of olds (Batum, BroLo) in a bad situation. Defensively, he is easily blown by and not having a Wemby level defender makes him tough to hide.

Kobe and Miller have been competent defensively, and competent to good on offense depending on the night. It’s not just a vibes thing, it’s playing young legs who add energy and higher impact.

Because the Clippers were 6-21 for the season before Kawhi turned back the clock and started playing like a top 5 player again. The Clippers were getting blown out by teams like the Grizz who were also decimated by injuries. That’s how badly the Clippers were playing before Kawhi started to be dominant again.

They were only winning during that stretch when Harden would get extra hot from outside, but if you told me Harden shot 2-12, and that Collins who had started to play well didn’t play, and you told me that Cam Christie who only plays during blowouts played 20 minutes, the natural conclusion would have been that the Clippers got blown out.

We genuinely had such an ugly 2nd half where we were sloppy with the ball, lots of lapses defensively but also just awful offensive decision making ESPECIALLY to close out the 4th.

Hardens typical FT bullshit with soft touch fouls is annoying because the refs continue to buy into it but it’s just masterful execution that dries up when games really matter so it’s whatever.

Scottie decided to take over OT after watching the ball not drop for 6 minutes straight & when we finally have it in a position for us to get back into it & win he threw up a bullshit 3, same with BI.

Missing 4 rotation players sucks but the Clippers were there for the taking, same with the 2 seed in the east.

The funny thing about this is that “when the game really mattered” was literally the only point in time where Harden played well tonight. He absolutely torched Toronto at the end of the 4th and in OT like 80% by himself. I think he scored 16 of the last 20 Clippers points in the 4th + OT.
