Last season the Bucks had the highest FTA differential with the Lakers 2nd, 23-24 and 22-23 it was the Lakers, then the Jazz 21-22 with the Lakers at 16th, 20-21 it was the Pelicans with the Lakers at 3rd, then the Lakers drop to the teens and don’t have another season at the top until 2012-13, then another gap until 03-04. So the Lakers have been getting a lot of calls in the last few years, but it’s mostly recency bias. If anything, I would say it’s a case of superstar whistle more than Lakers whistle.

Meanwhile, Reaves could just snap his neck backwards, go limp, and the refs would roll out the red carpet to the ft line. Some BS was happening throughout that entire series.

That was also the first of the post-2022 seasons where it seems like the whistle got a lot worse for the Warriors. I’m not sure what it is, but every year since then there have been some really egregious instances and stats about it. That plus the Lakers’ best-in-the-league-by-far whistle and it was clear what was going to happen.

I really love the NBA. I also hate what it’s become. A random conspiracy about a rigged game once every few years was funny as long as it didn’t happen to your team. Now it’s every damn game you watch is full of questionable calls. If the crew is having trouble keeping up they need to expand it to having 2 more refs that don’t run the court and stay baseline. It would be too clogged if they had them moving out there.
