I think it’s fair game to not call a foul like this (a hand on the hip and a swat on the non shooting arm that makes contact with the head once the ball is already in the hoop are the only two potential fouls I see) when the offensive player gets to take 3 steps to get to the hoop in the first place. Now that the nebulous gather step has been ubiquitous for years now and the rules already favor offense so much I am staunchly against hand on hip, contact after the shot is complete type fouls. Also staunchly against even more stoppages and free throws.
To be clear this dunk is sick and the defensive effort was sick. Let em play.
Edit: its hard to see in real time but one angle does show his shooting arm is likely hit as he’s dunking. That should be a foul for sure.

It’s a fair point, I was just thinking the other day that I feel that there has been just a ton of poster-dunks this season and the reason is probably because players are putting in a lot of effort to contest them which is the only way you get posterized.

I don’t see how Suggs can take any of AB’s minutes when(if?) he gets healthy
Suggs is an elite defender though man, some nights you need that.
Not just an elite defender, he’s an underrated offensive player. Per 36 he was giving them 21 ppg on 60% TS. Also becoming a better passer. He’s a high impact player but obviously injuries have been an issue.
While I agree, AB is becoming an elite two way player. Suggs is quite turnover prone and gives up a lot of fouls. Not to mention his body clearly can’t carry heavy loads due to his style of play. Love Suggs but if the Magic want to have him healthy for playoffs they need to save him from himself during the regular seasin
Suggs isn’t a high minutes guy really anyway (always sub 30) and our starting lineup with Suggs starting is like top 5 in the league. AB will still get a ton of minutes (30+) off the bench where he can also have a bit more freedom on offense.
Suggs is a difference maker every second he is on the floor, we are a significantly worse team without him than we are with Black playing this good.

Dunking ON 4 means (to me) that you had contact to the front and to the side that is making the play difficult. People simply TRAILING behind you and not really making any type of play should not count as additional players lmao.
This dunk was decent, but lord they blow so much smoke up stuff on TV to make clips seem more viral then they are.
