AB didn’t exactly grow up in Germany. He lived there for like four years. He was fluent in German as a kid, but I think I remember him saying (or someone quoting him as saying) that he couldn’t really speak it anymore. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s picking it back up though with three native speakers around him all the time.

If there’s one guy in the starting lineup who can get bumped to the bench and possibly do even more damage in fewer minutes, it’s Jalen Suggs.

It may not be terrible for him and the team if he’s at 25mpg instead of 30+mpg. But I wouldn’t want to make that call because Suggs is, in a way, the most reliable starter because of his defense. It’s tough. But AB is blowing up in real time.

when i watched kcp brick a middy down 10 i had to turn the game off. came back when we were down 4 or 5 and i got to watch john konchar stink it up in clutch minutes. i hate basketball

also gg was like ²⁄₂ in the first half and we hardly played him. started doing good when we actually played him more minutes in the second half.

He had a few terrible plays: offensive goaltending on a clear bucket wiping away 2 easy points, not getting up for about 10 seconds after falling down letting Memphis get a wide open 3, and the 3pt foul on Aldama. Just getting out of the arena now. It’s hard to explain how much more constant noise there is, definitely my biggest takeaway. Man the stadium was just never quiet and I went to the 2012 East first round playoffs and it was never at the constant level of noise this was. So fun and great arena too (€4 currywurst was a big winner)

In his rookie year, Anthony Black routinely tried and failed things in game over and over to the point that you would beg him to stop. Then he came back the following year and those failures from the previous season were strengths.

Last season, he was trying things and failing over and over that are now part of his breakout you’re all witnessing.

Am I surprised? Maybe a little, but this kid has a set on him and will try and fail at something until he’s yamming it home on four defenders all alone in transition with an epic poster. Last season he was bricking contested dunks, and this year it’s a strength.

Obviously injuries play a role in scraping by to find good line-ups, but Iisalo’s rotations even with the guys we have leave me scratching my head sometimes.

I dunno why Memphis don’t play bigger lineups more often. Jaren’s rebounding just is what it is and he ends up defending on the perimeter so often anyway I don’t know why you wouldn’t just play him as a giant SF and put size behind him with Aldama or give GG a shot maybe. Like he’s still awesome and if you can play him in lineups where he isnt expected to rebound anymore then you probably feel a lot better about his overall performances.

I just feel like getting killed on the glass like this is probably getting old and even when Edey is healthy, you’re still gonna have ~18 minutes a game where teams are just getting 2 shots every time, its not sustainable
