I try not to make everything political but none of this is going to happen anytime soon. Banning sports gambling along with everything else I listed is obviously morally and economically right but that means nothing when the foxes are running the henhouse.

Just the other day the under hit on the length of a White House press briefing, netting people who bet the under 50x on their bets, and with the way it ended, it looks like the U.S. press secretary knew and rushed to leave before the time would hit the over.

Even if sports betting is banned, there’s still a massive problem.

Guess what? When it was illegal, it was still remarkably easy to use Bovada or another offshore book. It’s been around forever, “I’m ready for it to be banned” is just naive.

Much easier to remove the laws about fixing games. If everyone knows its rigged, betting will stop. No betting, then no money to rig games.

Sportsbooks notice. They don’t necessarily share with the feds just because they see it, though. Weird thing, sportsbooks don’t love calling attention to themselves unless it drives up business. Potential fixes do not drive up business.

I assume the sports books are like insurance companies, they do everything they can to prevent and catch fraud but in the end its much easier said than done. Its damn near impossible to stop.

If you look hard enough, you can bet on little league baseball games.

Some background: 5th seed Shanghai’s Eric Bledsoe was suspended for 4 games, so it is to Shanghai’s benefit that they play out the first round (best of 3) and win 2-1 which means Bledsoe can return in game 2 vs. #4 Shenzhen in 2nd round.

Shanghai faced #12 Suzhou in the first round. Suzhou was just happy that they made the playoffs (and players got the playoff bonus) so they just want to go home and chill. With this, the “upstairs management” had an understanding that they’ll play out 3 games with Shanghai winning the series 2-1.

Game 1, Shanghai won easily. Game 2, Shanghai had a lot of players inactive due to “injuries”, yet it took a lot of “effort” to lose because Suzhou also didn’t want to win. Some fans were already furious because they can see the lack of effort and the blatant game fixing.

Then comes Game 3. Unexpectedly Suzhou was leading despite the “effort”. Suzhou’s coach had received orders from upstairs and even put out lineups involving players that have been frozen at the end of the bench. With that, Shanghai was still trailing. So Suzhou had to sub the starters, who have “understood” by now, back in and as you can see in the clip, a lot of laughable turnovers which led to Shanghai winning.
