Cause he performs that well for like 10 games and gets injured
He actually played 61⁄72 games that season and post all star break he averaged 29/7/4 on 65% ts. He got injured in the last few games of the season and missed the next season. If he was healthy and kept improving its possible he’s averaging like 35/8/6 on 65%+ ts right now like he should be right there with jokic and SGA.
Idr if it was that year or the year after when he had 40 in the play-in game before having to leave with a serious injury. He’s legit incredible if he can just stay on the court.
I trruly believe he’ll keep it together for one fine season.

Zion at that age was an absolute historical outlier. I’m trying to find the crazier stat about his volume at the rim and his efficiency both being outliers individually. It was like 2015 Steph but at the rim.
Not to discredit him at all, but I believe since that season(20-21) Giannis has already done it twice and Jokic is on pace to do it.
Giannis also did it twice at 30+ppg(last 2 seasons) and is currently at 64.9% and 29.1ppg this year.
Jokic is currently at 60.5% and 29.6ppg.
He should’ve would’ve could’ve dominated the league and instead is just consistently a top 20-30 player coasting making 100s of millions. Its crazy how good he is while simultaneously not giving a fuck.

He has literally the best touch around the rim of any player I’ve ever seen. And then he can also yam it home and dribble and pass. It’s crazy how talented he is.
That touch really is something else.
And it’s massively boosted by the fact that he can blast through most defenders like they’re made of tissue paper.
I guess he is kind of short for a dominant finisher, but it’s genuinely shocking to me that he gets blocked more than he gets and-1s. There’s only a few players in history that consistently got/get more and-1s than they get blocked; Luka, LeBron, Wade, Giannis, and Amar’e Stoudemire to name a few (of course Shaq too, probably the king of this stat though I didn’t check.) Zion gets blocked like 50% more often than he gets and-1s, a similar rate the Kobe. Not ‘bad,’ just seems like he’d get way more.
