I agree, I’m almost irrational when it comes to Ohtani I think he’s the greatest athlete alive today. Still though, Judge has clearly separated himself from every non-Ohtani player in baseball, peak Judge is probably the best non steroid, fully post interpretation hitter ever.

Anyway while I agree with your assessment of their actual talents, I was more just highlighting the gap between the two best players and the rest in their sports, not necessarily how large the gap is comparatively.

Jokic and Ohtani are great comparisons. Both are historical outliers in how they are the best in multiple areas in their respective sport.

But comparing team sport athletes to solo sport athletes just doesnt work as well. If you are the best in a solo sport. You are taking home titles. It don’t work like that in team sports.

If you throw Jokic/Ohtani on the best squad each season.. Then you are gonna get a lot of titles.
