[Highlight] Giannis scores the and-1 over Randle to cut the lead to 29 and starts booing his own home crowd (Bucks were booed off the court at halftime)
lol he’s outta there
I honestly don’t blame him one bit. The Bucks have an extremely bleak future and are only going to get worse from here, so he’s just wasting away the remainder of his prime there.
They’ve regressed every year recently and are basically out of picks and cap space.
If they could only undo the lillard trade
And then they made it even worse with the buyout
Yeah, doesn’t his dead cap go through like 2030 or some shit?
No picks, -$22m cap space for 4 more seasons, and currently not a constructed playoff team.
You’d think teams would have learned after the Gilbert Arenas saga in Orlando.
Orlando sure did, by hiring the people who put the Bucks together when they drafted Giannis.
And what they used it for in Myles, which has been an awful return on investment
I never understood the Turner signing. Turner needs a point guard to get him the ball on offense. He can’t create for shit. Put Turner on a team with an actual point guard, he’d be playing like he always does.
Desperation attempt at keeping Giannis by pairing him with a decent stretch 5
He couldn’t/wouldn’t post up guards when he was a 4-5th option. Stretching dame to pay Myles 20+M to be the 2nd option was never an investment that was going to pay off.
But they got Turner for 4 years! He’s really good, right?
Losing jrue holiday really was the demise
Everything becomes unstuck when Bucks got rid of the glue guy amd thats exactly what Jrue was for them
Jrue Glue sounds sus
Sounds like a henchman from Carmen Sandiego. I dig it
It all started falling when the Browns owner came.
Honestly I always thought we made the wrong decision trading Jrue instead of Middleton. Now idk if that was on the table but there were def rumours that they could have traded either guy and they decided to risk the hope that Middleton would come back the same guy after his injury and they were so wrong
Khris had just re-signed and wasn’t eligible to be traded until December.
It didn’t work but it was a good move at the time
Absolutely but all the Reddit geniuses will act like they called it the whole time. Hindsight bias is so annoying
You can say everyone has hindsight bias, but there were plenty of people who questioned trading your two-way point guard for a turnstile when defense was your team’s calling card during the good years. You’re also adding a player who needs the ball in his hands to a team with an MVP who’s at his best with the ball in his hands.
They had to try to make a move to keep Giannis happy so he’d sign an extension, but that doesn’t mean it was a good fit.
Dame-Giannis pick and roll would have been so great if Giannis actually set screens.
This
Except, you’re also forgetting that his defense wasn’t that great anymore. He was absolutely turbo torched by Jimmy and we couldn’t buy a basket outside of Giannis the prior year. Jrue was amazing for us, but he cannot be the 2nd option for the team which is what he was with Middleton’s injuries and slow recovery.
Jrue had 1 more good year left in him and I’m happy he got a chip with Boston as the 5th option on offense.
No one could have foreseen how bad Giannis/Dame both were off-ball or how bad Giannis was with the PNR. Or how bizarrely poor Dame was as a spot up shooter. For the record, I also thought Dame’s defense wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be.
Jrue was not a two-way guard. He was shooting like 40% from the field in the playoffs, and putting up prime Eric Bledsoe stats on offense.
Phenomenal defensive player though.
I called it the whole time; didn’t expect it to be this spectacularly bad due to the injury, but I’ve never rated Dame like that, and saw fit issues, and then they hired the moron as a coach and it was curtains
And the Doc Rivers hiring.
Doc always ruins teams. I don’t get the hype surrounding him.
He’s seriously still convincing owners and GMs that he can recreate that one Celtics title. He must be an all time salesman.
What’s crazy is that was Ainge’s work.
Honestly, as unpredictable as the draft process is now, I wouldn’t worry about the lack of picks.
Teams that do not have a plan for the young guys focus on the things that they can’t do and give up on them too soon. Then they go somewhere else and become solid players.
Bucks already have KPJ & Ryan Rollins, and more importantly a good GM, they will get more players.
He is part of the reason they have a bleak future though. They consistently mortgaged their future to appease him.
It’s the same reason LeBron teams sucked so much after him. He would make them gut their future assets to build around him for win-now moves and then complain they weren’t making enough moves to surround him with a good team after that 2-3 window expired. Then he would peace out and repeat the process with another team.
Back in the day they used to just fuck every chick in town then jump to Chicago on the weekends. At least that’s what I heard.
I honestly think the only reason he hasn’t gone yet is because he knows there will be more flexibility for one of the teams he prefers to get him in the offseason. It’s hard to move such a big contract mid-year with the new CBA
What?! He said he’s 1000% committed!! No I’m sorry 1,000,000%! A million percent committed.I don’t even know what that actually means but he said he’s that much committed and it’s way more than 100.
Illegal screen
Illegal screen!
Lol he’s been outta there for multiple contracts now.
You can only carry a g league team for so long
lol this shit is so funny. i mean, obviously the fans are gonna be pissed when you’re going down 30 at half time. on the other hand, Giannis is a beast and has been with the city for a decade. reminds me of when Knicks fans were booing Randle and he was giving it right back to them.
The irony of him doing this after scoring on Randle is not lost on me.
Maybe it was Randle who told him to do it…
I hope so. I always sided with Randle on this. The man is like the third greatest Knick of this century. The fans never appreciated what he did.
That was such BS with Randle. He came into the season a little cold, so fans booed him. Randle said okay I guess I’ll focus on facilitating for all these new 3pt shooters. Drops his volume, passes more, now he’s “mentally checked out” and getting booed even harder. Finally he figures it all out, starts playing great again, believe it or not still booing.
Every fanbase has them, but the Randle haters were straight scum.
I think my other comment got deleted so here it is again but with an approved link:
Rest assured that we love him in MN. Going into the WCF last year there was an edit showing how poorly he was treated in NY and at the beat switch it started showing MN highlights and him smiling and getting cheered on by the crowd. Its a great video, wonder if I could find it quick
Edit: https://np.reddit.com/r/timberwolves/s/9WpjtlLfXO
And still don’t.
Maybe it was the Randle we meet along the way afterall
Down 30 when we didnt have Ant or Rudy, yeah the boos were warranted
Boston NY and Philly fans all united in being confused about why Giannis is confused at being booed down 30 😂
Embiid learned this lesson a long time ago
Giannis has way more leeway to boo the crowd back (or boo with them) because he’s won a chip
ok bro we get it, you don’t like Randle
Not really tryna blast Julius, just saying Giannis has more juice
There’s gotta be a better way to say that
He’s saying Giannis always had the bigger load than Julius.
Orange Julius got all the juice
I was at the game and assure you the boo’s were directed at Doc Rivers.
Watch his press conference, holy shit. He took getting booed on his home court so fucking personally. Like that shit really got to him bad, dude feels betrayed or something.
If I brought the first championship in 50 years to a small market team and 4 years later they were booing me I’d be pissed too. Honestly disgraceful. I get that they were booing Doc/the team and not him specifically but there’s not much of a difference, it’s his team
I mean surely he realizes no one’s booing him
Booing the team broadly and him individually is probably the same thing in his mind, which is a good attitude to have.
I still don’t understand the point of booing your home team at half time. If the goal is a come back. The boos are not going to help.
If you watched the game, it looked like the bucks didn’t give a fuck to be there. the wolves didn’t have ant or Rudy. The bucks were favored. The amount of wide open uncontested DUNKS let alone 3 pointers, with rookie beringer looking like a seasoned vet, I would boo the bucks if that were my team. Taking my family to a game on a Tuesday and they roll up and shit the bed like that.
But then again they hired doc rivers so if you’re buying tix to bucks game you know what you’re getting into
Oh Ant was out?! I thought this score was with them playing! 😭
Our 2 best players this year. Best offensive and best defensive and we smashed them. We are playing the best we’ve probably ever played the last 7 games but that’s still embarrassing. On your home floor too.
Wolves broadcast kept saying that the Bucks just look super disorganized and not on the same page. Like multiple times.
Letting this happen with Ant and Rudy gone is crazy
Everyone should be booed if you are down 30 at half at home
Bucks came out well in the 3rd quarter. Then mailed the rest of the game in. The fans aren’t to blame here, lol.
The fans didn’t think the Bucks were playing hard enough to have a chance to comeback, it’s their way of saying “This isn’t good enough” and putting pressure on the team and org
They were saying Boo-annis
How can you say that when it’s clear that’s not the case?
They were saying boo-urns
Fans are supposed act happy they are getting their doors blown off? LOL.
I mean shit…. it’s a fucking sport lol.
Whenever our games look bad and we’re getting blown out, I’m just more laughing at the hilarity of it all.
I’m usually the same type of chill. But when the hornets were beating a team by 45 halfway through the game the other night I was at a loss.
But are u at the game paying god knows how much money to see them play on a weeknight and what u get is ur team getting blown out by 30 with the opposing teams best player out?
It’s a fucking sport - same goes for the championship part then right? If people didn’t take it seriously Giannis wouldn’t be earning a quarter billion dollars per contract
Not happy but not booing, especially when your star might be out the door lol.
He needs a manufactured reason to leave without him asking for a trade. He doesn’t want the backlash of wanting out that LeBron and KD faced.
I mean I don’t think it’s comparable to KD as long as the Thunder don’t go 73-9 and beat Giannis in the finals by overcoming a 3-1 lead and then Giannis joins the Thunder
Also, you know, he actually won them a title unlike Lebron and KD.
Manufactured reason? Being boo’ed at your home court is a pretty good reason and he didn’t trick the crowd into doing that
They booed the team 2 years ago when they lost 4 outta 5 games and then had a blowout loss to the Jazz. His answer was completely different, “Man, I would boo this team too” is what he said. I think the difference in answer highlights that he wants to leave because he’s starting to lose faith that this team can be anyway near contenders.
they lost to the Murreyless and Jokicless Nuggets just the night before and now theyre getting violated by Antless and Goberless Timberwolves at home. The fans have every right to boo this trash ass team
Difference is Giannis actually brought a chip to the team that drafted him. Granted LeBron didn’t do anything wrong by leaving the Cavs the first time. KD is a whole different case.
Brightest part about the Blazers future are those Bucks picks and swaps. And that’s saying something because the Blazers young core doesn’t look terrible most nights.
Except tonight with deni gone lol
In the past he probably would have handled it fairly well.
I can imagine him saying something like “they were right to boo we have to do better” in his usual upbeat way.
But he’s clearly frustrated, and that frustration changes how he’s reacting.
It could be that he knows he’s leaving, and when you’re in that headspace either everything bugs you or nothing does.
It could also just be frustration because the team is performing poorly.
he learned that from my goat Randle
Ironic it was Randle who was guarding him
First thing I thought when I saw him there too
Irony in the Alanis Morissette sense. Coincidence? Yes. Irony? I’m not seeing how.
So you’re saying he’s coming to the wolves
Dillingham for Giannas who says no?
Calm down, He was saying “Boo urns”
Are you saying Boo or Boo-urns?
I was saying Boo-ucks.

Fans who don’t boo down 30 are not fans
Can’t I just morosely shake my head in disappointment while drinking my overpriced beer? Smh
Yep, down by 30 at half at home against a Wolves team with no Edwards or Gobert would be frustrating
Giannis is very sensitive and thin skinned
Maybe I just don’t understand this viewpoint because I’m a casual sports fan, but I feel like your team doesn’t deserve boos just because they’re performing poorly.
IMO if the Bucks were down 30 but playing hard it would’ve been totally different. Shit happens and your team can get unlucky while the other team is shooting lights out. But the Bucks just never seemed interested in that first half last night. Lazy turnovers, not getting back on defense, bad shot selection, etc. if I see that as a fan and we are down 30 at half to a team without their two best players I think you have every right to boo
They booed the effort, not the performance.
Some fans boo, some don’t. Fanbases definitely boo. All of them, at some point or another. I don’t boo personally as I just don’t feel that desire, I’m more of the “put my head in my hands and stare blankly into the distance” type of guy personally, but in my eyes boo’s essentially began because the sound of a crowd all groaning in unison sounded like one big boo, and then eventually fans wanted to just skip to the punchline and let the team know they are displeased. Athletes getting upset over boos just never ends well, it’s never gonna stop, you can’t talk fanbases out of it, just suck it up and accept that it is a very small downside of being a super multi millionaire. Fans pay money to watch you play a game, if they stop caring, the players are just playing for fun and working a 9-5. Best to hope they continue caring enough to boo.
LOL, what other time do they deserve boos? Only when they are actively throwing the game?
To me it always depends on effort. If a team is just hot from 3 and things are hitting, that’s different than if the team comes out looking lethargic and slow/lazy on defense. Then I think boos are warranted.
It’s just boos
Are the fans supposed to be silent? Clap like you would at a comedy show when it’s not quite funny enough to laugh but you want to give something for the effort? Just fake cheer and clap all together? I mean yeah in Philadelphia we boo but you can still respect people you boo. And you can still respect people that boo at you
Amen! It’s like people think these are charity games or something… if you’re paying money to attend you have the right to boo if the product is garbage. Tired of being told not to hurt the feelings of insanely rich athletes and owners, when I suck at my job I don’t get cheered on, I get told to fix it.
“I love it here”
“I’m doing fine in the East”
“Bullet Club is fine!”
Fans have a right to boo
These guys are babies
100%. Im a large giannis / bucks fan but the fans literally paid good money to see their team in person, and then theyre down 30 at half to a team missing their best 2 players.
The boos are not directed at giannis but rather the direction the team is going. Giannis is really embarrassing for this
Well said, I’m a Pistons but fan I’ve really liked Giannis for a long time and his story, watched the documentary too.
But as you pointed out, the fans showing up are regular people, especially in Milwaukee (this isn’t NYC or SF with ultra rich pricing out the regular folk).
This could have been someones only game and this guy has the nerve to mock the fans while making 10s of millions a year and underperforming (I know his stats are insane but if you wanna be the MVP and want all the awards, you have to take all the responsibilities of a leader too, that includes when shit hits the fan).
And ya its boos towards the team for sure, not specifically him. But as the leader this is a really bad look.
Imagine Tim Duncan or Dirk Nowitzki doing this.
Prime opportunity missed by him to agree with the fans and say they deserve to get boo’d.
It’s really funny to try to imagine Duncan doing this. It would be the most emotion he ever showed, I think.
Bro Sixers fans boo our team after a low effort quarter, even if we’re only down 10…. And all the players embrace that shit. It should be motivating to do better.
They are all soft. They get fans kicked out now for just taking bs
Agreed, unless someone is being racist or making threats to a player/coaches/family members, it should be fair game and just part of heckling
Plus these are mostly veterans who have played in hundreds of road games, they should know and expect this by now
sheesh his bags are already packed
Didn’t people say the same thing a month ago, and then years ago?
Can somebody please tldr how the bucks went from nba champs to whatever this is?
Also the guys just aged, Middleton was so good, he got older and dealt with a lot of injuries, Brook got worse, Jrue was getting older so they tried Dame and that didn’t work, he also got older and got injured. It’s unfortunate
So Father Time paid them an unexpected visit
In fairness, Bud was already on pace to get fired until like a week before the Finals lol. The championship bought him time, but there was already a sense that he wasn’t the answer. Still better than what they replaced him with though.
If there was a ‘sense’ that a team would be better without a coach, and then that coach goes and leads the team to the highest level possible - I’m thinking it’s the people with the ‘sense’ that might have been wrong.
Bud is arguably one of the greatest regular season coaches of all time but his system has been proven over and over again to fail in the post season. Bucks had been championship or bust since 2020. It’s perfectly acceptable to acknowledge his shortcomings and try to find a new coach that would do better in the postseason. They just failed at the next hire.
I understand what you’re saying, but look at the irony of it. Never been proven - but won a ring…? Isn’t that quite literally proving it?
Didn’t the Bucks have the best record in the league when Griffin was fired?
Yes but we also had an obscenely weak schedule up until that point, and generally looked really bad. We won a lot of close games that could’ve gone either way
Dame time didn’t work out too well
Missed out on more opportunities for deep runs due to injuries. Eventually, the championship team got too old (Lopez) and injured (Middleton). Hail mary on Dame didn’t work. Not many assets and talent left. Mid drafting. Garbage coach on top.
Let Giannis gm and caught some bad breaks with injuries
Got rid of a coach with a high defensive IQ for an ego manager in a team without egos
How’d they even make the playoffs last year
East
Also having the 3rd best player in the world, and a very solid Dame backing him up.
A fully healthy Giannis could still drag this team to a play-in spot.
Not a single transaction post 2022 has gone our way.
Everything started falling when the Browns owner came.
Meh, they deserved to get booed tonight. If it’s what actually pushed him to the point of no return, it would be sad, but still deserved.
A man who is about to find his joy very soon
Losing by 30 at halftime with the wolves missing ant and gobert, can he not read the room? Ppl pay good money to watch them play and they stink up the joint.
Perhaps a couple hundred bucks per seat is no big deal for a multimilionaire i suppose.
Not surprising that he doesn’t appreciate being booed when he’s giving effort and trying his best every night. It would be different if they were mailing in games but that’s not really the case. The team is just ass and there is not much he can do about it.
He gone
So what team have a realistic chance of getting Giannis?
None in season. Idk why people are still pretending the trade will happen in season instead of offseason when it’s way easier to trade and more teams realize they are not actually that close to a title without him
if Milwaukee wants 1 Harrison Barnes who forgot how to shoot and a red haired Polish guy with an expiring contract then i know exactly the team
In my mind thats full of copium and fumes from gaslighting myself, Wolves. Giannis requests to go to the Wolves and the GMs will make it work.
But iirc OKC and Spurs have the assets to accquire Giannis. Though I dont know if its to the extent where they keep their core players or they have to sacrifice some depth for GA.
Either way, Giannis needs to leave or he just wastes his Prime with the Bucks that has no leverage
Lebron you are a buck! If you waive your ntc
I feel like they would trade Reaves for that if anything. I can’t see the Bucks trading Giannis for a guy retiring soon
Trade Giannis for a 41 year old who can just leave in 4 months😭. Lebron is not an actual trade piece rn
the vibes are immaculate
When it’s going great…
Bucks are what everyone thought the Suns were gonna be.
Oof, hard agree 😬
yeah that man is gone haha
Just trade him already. Bucks are gonna be bad for a while and better to get started now. Trade Giannis, Portis and Turner for a massive pile of picks and some young prospects.
Never should have fired coach Bud.
Never should’ve hired Doc
Biggest coaching fraud in NBA history
I love this man! I think it is time though sadly, this is like 2006 KG Wolves.
Just sadness week in week out.
They should just trade him to the wolves for a couple of picks and Dillingham just to make things even.
Bucks are so cooked for the next 3-5 years
Get ready to speak (enter city here) buddy
Down thirty something to a team without Gobert or Ant. Respectfully, you should be booed. If you’re happy here then buckle up buddy, shit ain’t gonna get better
Hope they get ready to watch a Kuzma lead team soon :dead:
CREAM CITY????
Yeah, I believe it refers to premature ejac or something of that nature
that court looks like it has termites.
Good, good. With each “boo” you send him closer and closer to the Lakers.
Every Bucks fan knows exactly who those boos are directed towards.
Booing his own fans is nuts but I get it😂
what an absolute clown
you’re down 30 at halftime against a team who’s playing their 2nd stringers
did you really expect them to cheer you?
Just more lame behavior from Giannis.
Are the fans supposed to cheer down 30 pts?
Why are all of the NBA stars so corny?
MONSTER
Randle’s thumbs down was much cooler
Turn on notifications for Shams twitter…
KAT get ready to learn Milwaukee
he stole Randle’s celebration from the Knicks era
So yeah rumors that he wants out are true for sure despite him saying in some interviews “ He would stay Bucks for life ” And ofc i dont blame him with how salary cap and everything is built its gonna be tough to make another contender also Bucks made lots of wrong moves.
Worst one is that Rivers is still not fired imo , if it happened before start of season i think they would look way different now . Honestly if the FO just fired Rivers i think Bucks would be top 3-4 east . Not sure what they are thinking.
Tho this roster would still not be enough to win another chip
Fire doc
