[Highlight] Alex Sarr is officially leading the NBA in blocks per game (2.3 bpg). Here is a 2 minute video highlighting some of his blocks this season
Wemby leads the league at 2.8 blocks per game. But i guess he doesn’t qualify due to games played.
correct. i’m posting this while i can until he qualifies
What is the cutoff to qualify? Wemby has played 25 games to Sarr’s 29, so it must be close. Huff (85), Stewart (70) and Wemby (69) all have more blocks in less mins than Sarr (67)
iirc it’s 70% of your team’s games. wemby has played 64% of the spurs games so he doesn’t qualify yet. sarr’s also played less games than huff and stewart so he has more bpg than them as well. therefore he’s leading the nba in bpg
If a player doesnt qualify he gets 0s in blocks for every game until he meets the threshold. Most likely wemby still does lead the league in blocks
Who the fuck decided that rule
Probably team owners
He’s been a beast on the defensive end
You know….someone made the Anthony Davis comparison. Numbers aren’t too far off at 20yo. Sarr is a special talent. Hawks goofed.
Sarr said he didn’t want to play for the Hawks.
Alex Sarr is gonna ruin draft analysis even more lol
What do you mean?
He was seen as a PF/C with a very high ceiling but had concerns regarding his physicality on offense and getting bullied on defense around the rim. He’s improved his stats across the board from his rookie season, probably more than most of us expected, and is putting a lot of the concerns around his physicality to rest in the process. The only stat that’s really stayed the same is turnovers but that seems like a Wiz problem in general.
he still consistently gets bullied around the rim which is why i cant very him as true center. I think at least defensively hes more optimal as a PF.
These tall ass French are ruining the game
Him and trae shoulda been teammates from the jump. Perfect duo potentially
I watch a lot of games and sarrs defence presence is game changing. He locks people up like I haven’t seen anyone do apart from Wemby. His positioning his timing he length all crazy reminds me of Anthony Davis.
I know Sarr is 7ft, but he just doesn’t feel that tall hahaha
It’s because his agility, footwork, and fluidity are absolutely insane for his size. Watching him bounce around and shift laterally in these highlights is striking - he’s lighter on his feet than plenty of guys 4+ inches shorter than him.
We’re all desensitized to it because of Wemby, but Sarr is basically Wemby-lite in terms of “nobody with those proportions should be able to move like that.”
Some of you were so fking wrong on this kid
My eyes tell me Wemby is leading 🤷♂️ 🤷♀️
My eyes tell me he hasn’t played enough games to qualify
I love Wemby as much as any other guy but it’s okay to appreciate other players.
stop being insecure it’s not cute
