[Highlight] Lu Dort stiff arming his defender, Pelle Larsson, twice in the same game, called for the offensive foul each time (with replays). Heat and Thunder commentaries
wtf is he doing lmao didn’t even try to disguise it he straight up stiff armed
The funniest part of it all is the fact that he legitimately can’t believe they called a foul on him
Because they used to not call it.
Last year they didn’t call that shit
Until the multiple videos of him trying to hurt Wemby they didn’t care. Now they realize no one wants to watch the Thunder unless they lose so they call it different.
Meanwhile the pacers miracle playoff run remains the biggest casualty of the 2025 OKC officiating debacle
If they’d been officiated fairly, the Nuggets would have been playing the Pacers in the finals.
Jokic was getting mugged the second he crossed half-court. It was insanity.
I think it was the final game of that nuggets-thunder series where Caruso should have fouled out before the 1st quarter even ended. Pretty much knew then and there the Thunder were “winning” the championship.
Lmao the Caruso “defense” against Jokic is just fouling the shit out of him for 15 second straight
I just could not understand why they let OKC play with a different set of rules. They were allowed to play football out there on defense while you breathe on SGA and he went to the line. Such a weird playoffs.
Houston was playing football as well. Took out Steph and butler with injuries
Which is one of my biggest asterisks on that thunder run. That nuggets team wasn’t even all that good
Hopefully we get our shot again with healthy players this time
This is Timberwolves erasure
Yeah I know the Finch tirade seems to have been the main start of the officiating shift, but I also think that clip of him going at Wemby’s knees becoming viral caught the league’s attention. I would bet that they sent a note to officials to watch for that kind of play. Wemby is their next cash cow, and they don’t want fucking Lu Dort taking him out.
Ding ding ding!
“bro I thought you were on our side?” - Dort to refs
“We were, but after the first chip you have to pay double.”
OKC unlocked New Game+
On Death March
Price of the chip goin up…
“Are we the baddies?”
What makes you think he can’t believe it? He makes no complaint either time…
it’s all narratives down here georgie
He didn’t complain about either call.
He did about the fast break one, was over talking to the refs about it during the next set of free throws
Thats just a reaction, theres no thought before that, just react. No NBA player has ever committed a foul, ever. They are all innocent in their minds.
This is a dumb comment
I mean, do we all remember the lesson of Anton Pavlov and his dogs?
The refs have conditioned Dort to expect free throws when he fouls other players. He’s one of Pavlov’s dogs salivating at the sound of a bell anytime he has the ball and makes contact with someone else.
He saw SGA pushing off in the lane and getting free throws every game and thought he was A) a superstar and B) that it would also work fifty feet from the basket. Wrong on both accounts.
“You thought you was SGA?”
They don’t call the whistle for you like that!
I still remember a pickup game in college where a dude did this to me a few plays in a row and I just couldn’t bring myself to call an offensive in pickup. Then he did it to me on game point and finally everyone on the court was like “bro we cannot end the game like this that’s a foul” lol
So annoying playing pickup with people like this. I never call fouls in pickup because who really cares, but sometimes people are just so blatant with their bullshit. These are also the dudes who want to fight anyone who calls it a foul.
I don’t call a foul, but on the first one I make a point of telling them that’s ridiculous, and all but the biggest idiots will usually tone it down a bit. If you do it without calling them out in front of everyone, people respond better.
wtf is he doing
Playing Lu Dort basketball.
He’s compensating because the only way to create value for himself is bullying other players around. And teams are going to scout for that. He’s gonna get targeted and dissected in the playoffs
He straight up punched Julian Strawther in the face out of nowhere in the playoffs last year. No foul.
Probably because he never gets called for his shit
Think he’s bulked up so much he’s lost a step and this is just him trying to get an edge for the pace he’s lost
Only legal if you use your elbow I guess
Dude thinks he’s a running back
He puts on like 20lbs then he’s pretty much Derrick Henry
You mean Mark Henry
You mean lu dort
Mark Henry was safer to work with.
Reminds me of this clip.
https://youtube.com/shorts/JIdLBJutN0w?si=TlYy1e4zxP3APYMw
the Deepfake of Henry’s face on hers is deeply unsettling
This is just disrespectful to King Henry lol.
Prime DHenry would be looking like Jon Wall speed out there in the NBA
Jon wall was doing track in high school and is reported to have a 4.35 40 yard dash.
He was a bit faster than Derrick Henry as he ran a 4.54 40 yard dash.
He also clocked faster running while dribbling a ball than no ball. That muscle memory is no joke.
He’s still the best off hand dunking PG I’ve ever seen.
John Wall is legitimately one of the fastest PG I’ve ever seen with the ball, albeit Westbrook is close. That’s the aspect most don’t get; it’s one thing to be insanely fast, it’s another to maintain control of the basketball while being insanely fast. He had no real drop off between the two. His high school mixtape is one of the best ever.
Fox is pretty close as a modern comparison but he’s not the playmaker John Wall was imo.
Official time vs hand time. Jon wall ain’t no 4.35
Wall is like an inch shorter and pretty much the same weight as Usain Bolt and clearly one of the fastest players in nba history and you are doubting that he could have run a 4.35? Iverson, Wall, Rose, Fox, these are some of the greatest freak athletes in the history of basketball and you don’t think they might have also been world class in track speed too?
LuDortian Tomlinson
Honestly though, the threshold for what’s considered an offensive foul is unreasonably high now it’s nearly impossible to play defense. I’m glad a defensive minded player like Dort is testing its boundaries out of spite.
To be fair, the refs are sending him very mixed messages, lol.
Well at least the Thunder commentary doesn’t defend it.
For sure. The post made it seem like the commentators might have had different takes. Not sure why we had to watch it all twice.
The only benefit was that last angle was the best to show how insanely obvious the second foul was. Other than that though I agree, nothing interesting said on either side
The OP always posts extended highlights and both commentaries. Some people get weird about him, but I appreciate extended highlights, context, and good video quality.
I mean that seems to be the point. Everybody was probably thinking the OKC broadcast would be homers and bumble to defend it
That’s very true. I just kind of assumed we’d hear different takes.
That’s just what this poster does. It’s not about curating a good viewing experience, it’s about posting as much footage as possible and then letting upvotes sort everything out.
Their commentary is pretty good, so is the Pels by the way.
The WORST homers in the NBA are the dorks that call games for Golden State. Hands down
Agreed. Thunder commentary is pretty solid.
As a Knicks fan I always have to go with Clyde + Breen as the GOATs
But the Pels are easily my favorites outside of them. Antonio Daniels and Joel Meyers are legit professionals who explain the game in an entertaining fashion - and are often harder on the Pels than they are on the opponent lol
Y’all getting Clyde and Breen as your default crew is just unfair, very hard to find a better duo in the league
Cheers to that
But also I guess we’ve paid for it in other ways lol
Clyde seemingly no longer does road trips though WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH kill me.
Yep. They’re very hard on lack of effort by Zion
Antonio Daniels used to do a post game show for the Thunder on Bally Sports. I always enjoyed that.
Sixers, Celtics, and Warriors are the 3 most biased
I’m a Celtics fan but I don’t find current Celtics broadcast to be heavily biased. Now back in the Tommy (RIP) days yeah certainly obnoxious if you weren’t a Celtics fan.
Drew Carter is a great up and coming play by play guy who has gotten several recent national broadcasts so obviously he is viewed as not being only a Celtics homer.
Scal is certainly more of a Homer on play by play, he was a Celtic fan favorite and won a championship in 2008, but Scal really loves the NBA. He always talks about guys on other teams that he likes, has what he calls the all Scal team which is overlooked players he thinks are gonna become great players (like Deni when he was on the wizards). Much better NBA knowledge than an average home team color commentator.
I live in maine, I don’t find scal to be much of a homer at all. Like maybe a gut reaction to a call once in a while but usually if a replay shows the call was right he acknowledges it
I also just don’t think he’s a very good broadcaster so there’s that lol
I didn’t mind Tommy being a giant homer considering he literally played/coached for the Celtics and was in the organization for like 80% of his life.
Super annoying to listen to if you’re an opposing fan but I grew to appreciate his love for his team.
He was the absolute worst to listen to as a fan of the opposing team, but I can appreciate that at least he was unapologetically biased
I think the Cs are pretty good. I had to watch their broadcast against the spurs the other night and I thought they were very fair. Complemented Wemby enormously on his block -> dunk
Lol I swear people think Tommy Heinsohn is still calling games. I’d put the new C’s broadcast up there for LEAST biased in the league now.
Scal legitimately loves ball and gushes about random role players on opposing teams every single night
Ya, the Celtics broadcast is a really good listen these days.
I’d trade Celtics for Raptors honestly. I fucking hate our commentators so much I refuse to watch home broadcasts.
everyone HATES our commentators including Thunder fans lol. I’m actually pretty shocked to see an opposing team say the commentary is good, and other non OKC fans agreeing in the comments. Twilight Zone shit.
I like them. Yeah Cage is a homer but like so am I, so it kind of just feels like I’m watching the game with another Thunder buddy, and he generally draws the line at particularly egregious stuff (I could see it being a pretty infuriating watch as a non OKC fan though lol, but I’m sometimes surprised how often OKC fans say they dislike him). And I think Chris Fisher is a very very good play by play commentator, which is a super hot take around r/thunder for some reason, they think he’s “boring and shows no emotion” even though he does all the time and hypes up the other team just as much as OKC. And I love our supporting cast of Lawson and Gallo (that part isn’t a hot take)
I sort of think the Fisher hate is a lot of old heads that are still mad the other guy got fired for the “out of his cotton picking mind” line.
Thunder commentary, as goofy as Cage can be, tend to give good props to opposition players for nice shots or plays; and majority of the time get foul calls right when saying if it was or wasn’t a foul and why.
Sure, they can glaze like all commentary, but given they’re commentating the Thunder they could be a lot more biased.
I don’t mind glazing if its still grounded with reality, their job is to hype up the Thunder.
True. They’re not afraid to call out bullshit on our side as well. They’re homers 100%, but they’re more fair than you would expect.
Actually surprised they didn’t. Michael Cage is a MASSIVE homer haha.
he’s confused why he’s allowed to do this on defense but not offense.
He’s confused because they literally built a championship on this shit being allowed
Good thing were calling it now! God forbid they do it during the championship run!
I’ll always be mad about game 4 man
Even Jason Kidd is still mad about game 4
Early 2010’s Seahawks
If we foul enough they wont call everything so we will get away with most of it.
I legitimately just find these two plays to be hilarious because how would one even begin to think they could get away with these.
Some of the things he thinks to do genuinely make me laugh. Some of them are dangerous but this is more on the stupid, not dangerous side.
The fact that he tries this stuff means he gets away with way too much
Yup. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you move your line to the extreme, it makes others times you cross the line look less extreme by default.
It’s like a foul Overton window.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease metaphor is more about constantly nagging someone, or being ever present, to get what you want.
Yeah, that’s not what that idiom means.
Is there an echo in here?
The first one was an obvious foul, yes. Thankfully they called it, but it wasnt insane or anything imo. The second one though … LMFAO.
That was so egregious. Dude literally looked like a running back.
I don’t understand how a basketball player even thinks to do this??? Like, in all my years of playing and watching, this isn’t even a move that I could imagine entering a players head.
Second one is so bad. I don’t think I’ve seen that before.
Because he gets away with it. He does this all the time.
The only reason these two stand out is because he was called for two straight fouls. However, he could be called for these every game.
Because his teammate SGA (and plenty of other players) get away with the forearm push-off all the time. He must’ve not realized the full stiff-arm extension is too egregious.
I mean this is how he sets screens and never gets called
I so badly want to see dort play football
You already are
They call it football but i dont see their feet 😤
Draymond and dort have perfected footballs. They never end a season without putting that foot/knee in another man’s balls
As long as he gtfo from the basketball its good
And so the monkeys paw curls
That’s a natural dribbling motion amirite
Lu Doirty strikes again
That’s why mom named him Lu Dirt instead of Lu Nunamaker
classmate’s Dirtyamond green says Hii!!
lol Dray at least doesn’t look like a full brick. Dort is so thick I wouldn’t want a collision with him.
Yeah Lu’s just so thick and girthy
And veiny… I had a condition in middle school where I would draw pictures of Lu Dort over and over again
You know how many foods are shaped like Lu Dort? The best kinds.
We gotta play this guy again next.. Fuck he’s horrible to watch.
You never know if he’s going to literally take out one of your dudes with his reckless bush league shit or hit 6 3’s on your ass.
Bro I’ll never forget when they were ripping on him hardcore for his piss poor 3pt shooting during the bubble (2020) and that always stuck with me…so I automatically assume he’s always sub 30% from behind the arc and am surprised every time when I inevitably look it up again.
Him being the Thunder’s volume 3 pt shooter and at an improving clip is always a surprise.
He had no business shooting so many threes in the bubble. Undrafted, g-league call up that met the moment for defense, but crumbled under being given the wide open shot. He hit a bunch in game 7 against the rockets though. Only to be baited by Harden to take the final shot and got blocked. If my memory serves me correctly.
Didn’t your guy literally say he purposefully stomps on people’s feet to injure them?
To be fair there should be like 10+ of these offensive fouls called every game, the officiating is so inconsistent that it’s hard to know what the rules actually are lmao
$$$$$$$ that the rules
Pelle Larsson been playing real well last few months
Pelle is a good defender and his O has been really solid - makes a heap of winning plays. Great for a 2nd year, second round pick.
He’s cut from the same cloth as dudes like Hart and Caruso. He’ll be a key rotation guy for a contender in his prime.
Second one was more egregious, he literally puts his palm on the guys chest to push him, at least the other was a forearm to jockey for position
Paul George’s patented move lol, he, Kawhi and Harden do this a lot
lots of other guys too of course
Allen Iverson used to do a subtle one every time he changed direction during a cross over. If you watch his dribble highlights, you’ll notice it on all the ones where someone falls down.
Both of these are too high on the body to get away with
ive seen push-offs almost as blatant but stars get away with it by generally shoving off from the lumbar region of the defender. Dort is almost initiating the push from shoulder height here
Basketball terrorist
atleast it’s getting called, like this team probably is talented but alot of these shenanigans are what makes them terrible to watch.
I clicked this thinking that each broadcast team would have wildly different takes….
That was just everyone in agreement that Dort was stiff arming that guy lol
Dort is the reason I can’t root for okc
The only reason?
I can think of minimum three other reasons
Fuck Dort! (2x)
Really good form, Dort almost had a touchdown there
Man I don’t think both commentaries was really necessary on this one 🤣
Is this the Dorture Chamber?
The NBA was apparently allowing this crap this season, so it seems like he expected to just be able to shove defenders instead of using skill or talent.
They also started calling palming lately which is weird. Maybe they’re trying to fix the ridiculous refereeing, or it’s just temporary and they’ll go back to not allowing defense.
When you let a dog do whatever it wants for years then finally decide you wanna train it, you cant be surprised when it does some audacious shit and acts like it did nothing wrong.
The refs conditioned Dort into this, they create this monster.
Fuck Lu Dort
So many dudes do this and I wish it was called a lot more.
F OKC
Fuck lu dort
lol r u serious Lu? Thats literally a football play.
It was fucking hilarious. Full-on Derrick Henry-ed him.
Dort sees SGA does something and tried his best to imitate it.
This wasn’t a foul last year, not for Thunder that is. With refs like this they would never win the chip…
Dorts motto is “if you can’t beat em, injure em”
It’s not a coincidence he’s injured multiple star players
What star players has dort injured lmao
Neither of these are “charges taken.” Not every offensive foul is a charging foul.
That’s what he thinks he is allowed to do.. and even surprised to be called for the foul
Should have just played in the NFL with that build and coordination lol
Throwing stiff arms like beast mode
Okc is the most unethical mvp chumps
You’re patchet MrBuckBuck
Why in the world is Dort bringing the ball up court?
Did Chris Finch save the NBA? If OKC games were called fairly they’d be a 50-55 win team and lose in the second round or maybe conf finals at most.
“It’s ok the ref can’t call every foul… …well the ref can’t call it again… …well damn. Now I look foolish.”
Chris Finch saved basketball
Dort is so shit smh
Lol even Larson looked around like is he serious.
The push off needs to be called more even on superstars. You cant even play defense in todays game. Love this!!!
Good. Now keep doing it.
Dort playing Rugby in the middle of an NBA game, what a sight to behold.
Oh, so they can call him for his obviously shitty fouls
With the way the refs have been calling things this past decade, they’ll start allowing this within a few years.
He’s wondering how ShaI gets away with this all the time. Dort is just too muscular. He‘s got to stick that arm out and as soon as contact is made he needs to turn into Gumby and flop around a to fit the call going the other way,
Always hated Dort, he gets a way with so much bs. I’ll never forget the series vs the mavs in 2024, dude was flopping all over the place every time a pick was set on him. He was bumping into Luka the whole time and it really looked like was trying to injure him.
Love the Heat commentators. Eric Reid is a legend
What a fucking psychopath
I can see why he’s confused that they’re actually calling it now
He is testing the rules to see what he can get away with
Draymond has officially passed the torch to the younger generation
Finally good calls lol
If Shai does this his defender gets a flagrant foul
Players like Dort are so funny because how do you commit the most blatant, non-disguised foul of all time and have the audacity to look around in surprise.
Good…and they should consistently call this EVERY TIME. So tired of seeing offensive players using their non dribbling arm as a weapon. Even worse on dunks…
the refs called this so later when they miss these in the playoffs they can go back and say see we’re not biased
Hand no. Elbow ok
You love to see it. Fuck Dort
Both of these are blatant fouls.
The first one, he’d probably say he was bracing for contact, but that second one the defender is backing up, and Dort kinda stops to gather the stiff arm lmao
Now start calling his deliberate attempts to injure other players
Dirty ass player
It must be frustrating for OKC that their actions are being called for fouls now.
🤣🤣
Why do we need to watch both sides say the same thing? 🤷🏼 What a waste of time
I really hate that guy. He is due for some karma
Bruh thinks he’s sga
play regular basketball dude
Poo Dork at it again.
Lmao he playing football out there
I see Lu Dort lowlight I upvote
That second one just screams “I know I can always get away with this so I’m going to keep doing it”.
So glad it’s not working anymore.
Sweden mentioned! Heja Pelle!🇸🇪
Finally! This guy has been getting away with grabbing and pushing and stiff arming for like 2 years now!
Thank you Finch
