Zeke Nnaji over the last 3 years has 1-2 month stretches in Jan to Feburary where he would go on a rampage averaging 8+ points an 5 rebounds with whopping 2 stls and 2blks but the problem is, once March comes around, he would get DNPd by Mike Malone and would never see the floor again.

Yeah, we were entirely down to trade him. He’s had a pretty significant spike in output since Jokic has gone down, legitimately never saw it coming. He’s been nigh-useless for like 5 years straight, but all of a sudden he’s found an actual role on this team. Probably not a guy we’d use in the playoffs… but still. Huge leap.

A lot of what’s happening on the Nuggets right now has to do with Booth and Malone getting fired at the end of last season. It’s a long story about petty guys almost totally ruining the Nuggets’ franchise over their personal hatred of each other and screwing over the players’ careers in the process 

We don’t really know how good Zeke has been because Malone refused to play him, and when we did, he seemed bad. But that was maybe because he got thrown in pretty randomly without any consistent time or rotation, would get yanked out of Malone got frustrated, and was often playing out of position without really adjusting the game plan for the fact that he’s not Jokic.

This season he hasn’t gotten minutes because the Nuggets have finally had depth because Booth - in an attempt to force Malone to develop these players he believed in - literally sabotaged the team’s ability to acquire veterans so Malone had no other choice. Malone retaliated by putting them in bad situations, so they’d seem bad.

Earlier in the year, the season was favoring a “Malone was right” interpretation. Jokic had a veteran backup center and veteran 3 point shooter and a veteran high IQ wing, and the nuggets were the best they’ve ever been.

But with all these injuries, all of these young guys who Malone didn’t play much or in advantageous situations for them because they were “Booth’s boys”, are revealing themselves to be quite good. So now the discourse is mostly “Booth was right”.

But the truth is they were both wrong because they put their personal rivalry over the success of the team, and fortunately the new front office and Coach Adelman have done great so far.

I cant tell if this is serious or not but Zeke Naji is horrible

Eh, I mean Malone earned two more seasons after winning a title. I think Malone would have been gone if we didn’t win it in 2023. The late season collapse  last year finally did him in

Malone was the real culprit in Denver’s failures. Yes Booth was trash at managing assets but he was a damn good scout, and he did find great support players to make a run at the title.
