And important to note that Markkanen was on the court vs the Mavs but not last night. Him playing, even if he has an off night, opens up so many scoring opportunities for the young guys.

This like me trying defend Phil Jackson’s tenure with the Knicks as an FO executive. He’s done a lot elsewhere but hasn’t done anything with the Jazz. I guess Ainge at least somehow got 5 firsts for Gobert which was insane but nothing much else to be bring up. The Donovan Mitchell trade getting Utah 5 picks was good but it was to be expected considering how other big trades worked out.
What has he accomplished since working for the Jazz
The fact that there’s a dude like Lauri Markkanen sitting on his roster for so long and just hasn’t traded him is so stupid. Ainge is obsessed with his blockbuster trades and never settles for anything less, even when Markkanen was obviously good enough to give the Jazz a few more wins then they wanted season after season.
Who knew no one is lining up to shell out for a fringe All-Star making nearly $50M/year for 4 seasons including this?

We beat the Rockets, Magic, Pistons, and Spurs and took OKC to OT. We sat players because the Hornets are neck and neck with us in the standings. Every Jazz fan knows what this is about. Unfortunately until we stop getting absolutely screwed in the draft lottery this kind of thing will continue.
Tbh, what choice do mid teams have outside of tanking to get good players? The system encourages it and so teams do it. They need to figure out a way to stop it, otherwise u’ll have more of it going forward.
Jazz over performed with him coaching in 22-23 and 23-24. He’s one of the reasons why we had to tank so egregiously last year.
