Nikola Topić was back on the floor today at Thunder practice getting some shots up with Chet Holmgren.
Great to see him in the court, the lad couldn’t have gotten a worst starting hand to the nba…
He could have had the injuries and cancer and no championship ring. It technically could have been slightly worse.
Could you imagine if he had to play for the kings?
Happy people heal faster so…… let’s not imagine.
Who is your team, Mr No Flair?
Should be required you have a flair to shit on other teams lol.
Unless you’re a coward
We just found Cedric’s Reddit account
Flairs don’t mean you are a fan, often they really mean the opposite. The worst thing this sub ever did was maybe adding team flairs. You used to figure out who a person was and what they meant by reading their comments.
Maybe he’s a Mavs fan who defended Nico or something. There are worse possibilities out there
Maybe he has no team and just loves hatin
Definitely not the Kings lmao
No team, no flair. Everyone is fair game
Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.
Lol you don’t want anyone to know your favorite team because you’re too sensitive to people online trash talking it. It’s ok bro, that’s nothing to be ashamed of. Lol
It’s always the flairless pussies on this sub yapping the most lmao, the way he came for the kings I’ll bet he’s an insecure laker fan, insecure from 2002 if he was born then lol
Nah i really dont have a team lol. I didnt grow up with nba allegiances like i did other pro sports, i just got to watch whoever was on and didnt have a local team.
We get it, you can’t handle any criticism at all so you hide in anonymity. Lots of people do it online. You’re not fooling anyone.
What is this retardation lmao many people support players rather than teams in the nba
I’d rather have cancer
Don’t do my second goat like that
Well if you live in a Healthcare desert like Oklahoma, you likely won’t have to find out about your cancer or deal with the hard road of treatment……
Actually the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center has one of the leading oncologists so it’s a pretty amazing “healthcare desert” or I guess you could just keep making stuff up
LMAO. Exponentially worse?
Add to it the fact that the season before that in Red Star he started out great in an ABA League team he was loaned out to (Mega that Jokić played for), then during the season came back to Red Star which desperately needed a PG, started out great in Euroleague, got injured after two games, came back in ABA League playoffs, and got injured on the first game again. Since then he basically hasn’t played.
So unlucky but I tell you I’ve never seen a mentality in a kid like in him. He joined Red Star and without one game of Euroleague experience played like the most experienced player on the court. It was crazy to see. I truly hope he gets minutes to show what he can do in NBA.
It’s cool they let the bald kid shoot around with team, hopefully he makes it through whatever he’s battling
He could have died of cancer as a child
Definition of a demon, bro. Going through chemotherapy and still continuing to practice? Sheesh.
Is this the most players named Nikola in the NBA at any one time?
The new Jalen
Eastern European Jalen.
Mirotic is still only 34, someone bring him back. Let’s see how far we can push this.
I wish the Pels would. Man, I loved his tenure here so much.
Vlade Divac started the Serbian invasion.
Oh my god I had no idea he was going through chemotherapy. I was about to make a joke about who the bald guy was….
That’s incredible. Props to him. Hope his immune system is safe. Lots of exercise + chemo is tough on it.
I thought it was Caruso 😬
Dude, same…
I had a friend who had cancer, she was active and determined not to let it keep her from that but when she was on chemo she could barely walk or even get out of bed. So it’s pretty insane to me to see Topic out and about practicing
He’s reportedly finished chemo and is now in remission
The Thunder have been pretty quiet about it, but there have been a few practice/game availabilities where someone asked coach or a player about Topic, and they’ve all said some form of ‘the amount that he works and wants it is incredible.’ Sounds like he’s been coming to the gym and practice/meetings as much as he can, even while going through chemo, and doing what he can to try and train.
I don’t think there is any way anyone should expect him to come back this season, but it sounds like he’s the kind that would make it happen if it was possible. The applause he’ll get when he finally gets to play in a game is going to be wild.
Great to see him practicing. I bet it’s quite the difficult process to get that energy, fitness, strength, explosiveness, etc back after chemo.
Very very hard took me 2 years to feel myself again this dudes a stud
You are too, friend. Fighting for two years to get back to yourself, plus however long you had to fight before chemo too… sheesh brother… hope you’re doing better than ever, friend!
This is validating. I’m almost a year out and just day I was surprised y how small the battery still is
I’m on chemo cycle number 18, the fatigue can be absolutely baffling, like nothing you’ve ever experienced before.
Fck Cancer, glad he’s back.
Fuck cancer, shout out to holmgreen
Fuck cancer
Good for him man, crazy that he’s missed his entire NBA career so far and is still only 20 years old. Still has plenty of time to carve out a great career for himself
I’m glad he’s back and starting to get healthy again but I’m kind of curious with that type of cancer do you like lose your hair forever or is it because of the chemo treatment
It’ll start growing back, if it hasn’t already
Got it thank you
It’s chemo treatment. You lose all hair on your body.
Fun fact: It can grow back different textures (Curly or thicker) and some people’s hair grows back red vs their original hair color
My mom’s hairstylist went through cancer and her came back super curly. Fascinating part of a horrible illness.
I think that’s common at first but usually it gets back to your normal style over time
I had the same type of chemo as him. Mine first grew back with a red tint but then was normal after a few cuts. It was kinda neat.
Same! My hair grew back wayyyy darker and evened out. I also was finally able to grow a beard (Unlike the rest of the men in my family) and it grew back sooooo thick
Lol I had the same experience, never could grow a good beard before, then BOOM.
Glad you’re still with us bro.
Yeah I know a guy who had chemo just after high school and his hair came back bleach blonde Slim Shady style and has stayed that way.
My grandmother on her first round came back with really curly hair after a life of straight hair, unfortunately she didn’t get to live long enough to see what happened afterwards
I was blonde when I lost mine and it grew back light brown
Fuck man I have my fingers crossed topic can cultivate a red fro
What if you’re already balding when you get chemo. Can you magically start growing thick curly hair?
People typically shave their head before undergoing chemo rather than having it shed in patches during the course of treatment
Chemo is the cause of hair loss, it’ll grow back when he stops chemo if he hasn’t already (haven’t been following his timeline)
From what I’ve read he already stopped
I lost it and then grew back very curly. Now soon I will lose it again before my bone marrow transplant and supposedly it will grow even curlier.
Best of luck
Thanks I appreciate it.
chemo targets cells that do rapid cell division. hair happens to be something that does that
Look up anagen effluvium
Rooting hard for this guy. He’s a special lvl passer
does he have a nickname yet?
I suggest Hot Topic
Topic Thunder seems great
only issue is his name is pronounced toe-pitch.
The newest member of r/bald
brother bouncin back strong 🙌🏽
Still not bald enough to mod this sub
He’s gotta match with Caruso & rock the headband
Indifferent to the thunder but really hope Nikola lights up the NBA.
Ya I’m a suns fun but fuck it, stories like this are bigger than team affiliation
Fuck Cancer man. Glad he’s back and hope he’ll have a great career still.
So cool for Caruso to show he’s in solidarity.
Good for him, can’t imagine what its like to be a world class athlete and not be able to play due to cancer
Hope he comes back strong and has a hell of a year and career. Rooting for him for best comeback.
[deleted]
Yep
aww that’s so awesome to hear! Rooting for him
Rooting for this guy heavy.
The rim is so low for them. It’s crazy how different the game is at their height
Wish this dude the best. Was dealt a shit hand to start his career
I used to be in track in high school and run a lot, but after my cancer and chemo I went back to the track shortly after and could barely run 100m. Props to him man
Can someone catch me up? Who is this? Obviously an NBA player?
He’s a thunder player who was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the start of the season and has had surgery and chemotherapy. He was on the roster last year so he did get a championship ring also.
And was out last season as he did his ACL prior to the draft (hence the slide)
Our pick from last year. He missed last year due to ACL injury. This year he was supposed to make his debut, but ended up with testicular cancer and has had to sit out due to chemo.
Thank you for this
Champion Nikola Topic.
Much respect 🙏🏼💯
Good for him.
My father law is set to have a transfusion for blood cancer next month so these few weeks have been an eye opener to cancer for me and my family.
Had the same disease at 35 and recovered fully from it. 19⁄20 is really early, it sucks so much for him but hopefully he pulls through. Wishing him nothing but the best in his recovery and the rest of his basketball career.
he’s been working out for a couple weeks now already, hopefully should get some gametime mins after asb
Had a friend who had to take chemo because of cancerous tumor in his leg, in high school. He was gone for half a year and then he was intermittently back in class. The shaved head thing is so weird but he always said it’s fine to stare because he stared at himself everywhere he went, he’d just stare in the mirrors or glass he walked by. Fascinating to see people who didn’t opt for a shaved head look.
Anyway my head shape is exactly like his fucking hell
Coolest bald dude on the thunder
His name is hilarious
edit: I didnt know he had recently gone through chemo. My b g’s.
Always forget he thicc
Looking forward to his upcoming Hitman movie with Jordan Walsh
Happy for him, he’s had such a tough journey
Fk Cancer.
Rooting for him! Long career ahead, Topic!
It’s crazy how good the Thunder are tbh.
Prayers up Nikola
Man, I knew he had cancer, but cancer cancer, shit. Hope he gets better. My dream for a Serbian Nikola starting five depends on it.
What is cancer cancer? Serious question
Like, needing chemo and the whole shaving thing. I have a coworker with cancer but it’s apparently so minor he just takes pills, I was hoping it was like that when I first heard.
Shout out to Boosie.
LETS GO TOPIC!!!
good to see him back out there
Chet got the aux btw
Fuck cancer.
The most inspiring thing I read today… God Bless him… It’s one thing to SURVIVE cancer… Another to perform at a high level in the biggest basketball stage…
I’m not very educated on prostate cancer or any kind of, but what is this recovery like? I’m assuming he’s not back to 100%?
q-tip looking ah
Thought Charlie V was making a comeback for a second. Glad he’s back in the floor.
C H R O M E D O M E
I thought that was Adam Silver for a second
trained so hard he went bald

Feel like the only reason to post that message on this thread is to ragebait.
That’s bait. 👆
Spurs are not going to win let’s be real.
Not this year.. too young.. But they will beginning next year once they get that playoff experience. But matchup wise, Thunder better hope they don’t run into them this year
