I don’t think it’s that easy tbh, GSW has very specific requirements. A player can be a decent ¹⁵⁄₅ on other teams but be racking up DNPs in GSW.

This gets so overblown because they’re a ball and player movement type of team but honestly if you can be a decent team defender and be effective on offense without having to dribble the ball 10 times in a possession, you can fit with the warriors.

Like Gui, Podz, Moody, Melton, or 80% of the other decent role players we’ve had over the years were these 10k iq level basketball minds and they all still found their way around the system fine enough

Depending on who they send, MPJ can be an improvement, but I doubt he gets the Warriors past the hump.

Yes, Warriors need offense, but they need high BBIQ players who can play off of Steph, and get him open. I don’t know if Michael “The Posession Ends Here” Porter Jr can be that guy. Even if he’s taken a leap in passing he’s passing less than Jordan Poole during the 22 Championship season (but better scoring numbers for sure).

He’s putting up great numbers on a tanking team, and he’s definitely playing above expectations, but if the Warriors get him, I think they’re gonna find out quick why the Nuggets weren’t too reluctant to let him go.

If you watch the Warriors, there are so many open, high quality looks that get whiffed while they double Steph. This helps Steph and we need someone to be a shooter. He’s averaging 28ppg, if we get 20ppg that’s great.

You’re right in a vacuum, MPJ is probably better than Moody and Santos combined. But the thing is you’re not gonna get MPJ for Gui Santos and Moody. You’re buying high and giving up serviceable players.

Giving up depth to pick up a scorer is a great way to score 120+ and lose games - which is basically what the Nets have been doing.

Yes he won a ring, but I think it’s telling the Nuggets chose to keep Murray, Gordon, and Braun over MPJ. There were plenty of MPJ lowlights towards the end of his tenure on the Nuggets.

They already have that with Draymond and Jimmy Butler. Two of the highest IQ players in the NBA. They just need MPJ to play the Klay role on offense. Hit some open shots and take the pressure off of Steph and Jimmy.

Also, you’re probably not keeping Draymond or Butler if you go for MPJ.
