Contend with him throughout the remainder of Steph’s prime and possibly his entire career.

But I don’t think Giannis is available, at least by now and probably won’t be this season, and even if he is, the Rockets and Spurs could outbid them.

I’d do it in a heartbeat.

I’d love to see a Steph/AD duo – Steph deserves a lob threat for once to take the defensive pressure off him, and we desperately need a big who can get buckets inside. AD would be a seamless fit. Defensively too, AD would finally give us real size on that end and a legit shot blocking threat.

It’s hard to imagine giving up Draymond, and I never thought it’d get to that junction, but it’s at a point where it feels like it has to happen. A fresh start might be the best thing to do for both sides, just like it was with Klay.

And we need to make big changes (like getting AD) if we’re serious about being a winning team.

We have an excellent young core with Isaiah Collier and Keyonte George in particular. We tank this year because we owe OKC a first round pick unless it’s top eight, but it’s still in our best interest to get our young guys as much experience as possible while advertising Markkanen’s value as much as possible. Steph actually did roll his ankle against Charlotte, Jimmy was sick, and Draymond is old enough and not a star player under the rules so he is qualified to rest a certain number of times per season. Maybe the Dubs will get a fine if the league investigates and somehow proves that Steph and Butler could have played, but until then it was just injured guys being out.
