Defender jumped with one foot on the restricted area arc and landed under the rim, not straight up. Defender’s arms also didn’t stay 90 degrees and went down to about 60 which isn’t uncommon to have a foul called on. Honestly I’d agree that’s legal defense but i also wouldn’t be scratching my head if a foul was called

It just means spin on the ball. They use the term in a lot of sports especially in billiards. In this situation, amen puts a great spin on the ball that it hits the backboard at a odd angle but still able to spin in.

For a while I was annoyed that every time Amen was on the screen the commentators can never shut up about athleticism. Then I kept watching Amen and realized that they keep saying it because everything he does out there, even usually routine stuff, just looks so insanely athletic, graceful and smooth, you can’t help but not shut up about it.
