Wemby is back on the bench
After his injury Wemby is back on the bench in slides, no boot or support on the knee that can be seen.
He is in slippers and is just walking about without support ive never been so happy
I keep hearing that the spurs are gonna run the league for the next 10 years.
Yall better pray Wemby stays healthy because, giraffe legs have been historically fragile
“If y’all wanna be good you better hope your star player stays healthy” what beautiful insight.
Your star player *who is abnormally tall, has skinny legs, and plays like he’s 1 foot shorter”
kat pushed him while he is in mid air. I think any player in the air getting shoved has a good chance of landing awkwardly.
Good thing that’s such a rare event in basketball
plays like he’s 1 foot shorter
Lots of things you can say about Wemby’s game but “not really using his height” is probably the stupidest, lol
Bruh, he means that Wemby doesn’t fit the conventional wisdom that tall players can’t dribble and don’t have agility. He plays with the skill and footwork of smaller guards.
lol that makes your insight even more vapid though, you understand that, right
pot, kettle
Thanks Magic
Tbf he is reminding me of young AD. Generational talent, but he keeps getting hurt. Not like you say it about all stars, some are more injury prone.
People of his build virtually never stay healthy. Id argue he has the best chance of anyone because of his work ethics but it is the reality
I don’t think anyone’s ever said this before but wemby might be injury prone bc of his height
Garnett and Durant have giraffe legs and they had lengthy and relatively healthy careers.
They had a diff playstyle though. Garnett landed wrong during his Celtics tenure and that was basically it for him
It’s the most tired vibe shit over at the Spurs sub the last year and half with at best denial and at worst snorting copium about the importance of keeping Wemby healthy and big assumption re whether his unique size and agility comes with a tradeoff on sustainability of his health.
Good thing weve been winning without him too then
Hate watching for no reason.
Thanks Captain Sherlock, and of course it’s a Lakers fan lol
Just like Dad
I believe in God now
Spurs fans ascending rn
Lisan Al-Gaib
First time I’ve prayed in a while ngl
Holiness is back on the menu, boys
Same
Why hast God forsaken us?
almost forgot that Wemby is an ALIEN
guy genuinely cannot be human after that
Someone tell me if it’s good or not that he’s in just slides
It’s good, means the team doesn’t seem to think there’s any need for medical support on that leg. If that’s the case, then it’s most likely not an injury that will see him pulled for any extended period of time, and he might just need some rest for the time being.
GOD IS REAL
Thank the slippers buddy, not god
I’m in my late 40s now and every injury is a big deal. I sprained a finger and I’m out two weeks. It’s hard to remember sometimes that young me could just sprain an ankle, come back and play through it that game, and then just take a couple of days off and play whether it is fully healed or not.
How much should we trust spurs medical staff?
Spurs’ medical staff is really conservative and even overprotective at times. If they’re willing to let Wemby walk out, then it’s a great sign.
Absolutely insanely good. If there was even a tiny bit of risk of something serious or structural. I can’t imagine the Spurs would let him just be walking around over there without some major support.
I seen him doin the moonwalk like 10 min ago after the game he’s fine.
No he’d be good if he came back out the floor to help in a close game
Theyre obviously still cautious lmao bit the fact that hes out there with no precaution is very positive
The team they had out there was enough to win tonight, no need to push him back there late in the game if the team on the floor have it under control. While they’re being cautious, I don’t imagine they would even have him back on the bench if something was wrong.
That’s what happens when the giraffe does yoga.
I was literally thinking about the picture of him doing yoga praying it would help with an extension like that
how flexible is this mf? i’ve seen him turn his ankles and walk away fine and now he’s hyperextending his knees and is still fine?
There were a lot of videos. His rookie year of him doing the splits. He’s been doing yoga as a part of his workout regime for quite a while
might need to add yoga as a requirement for every nuggets player, entire fucking squad is just dead
Dude, I can’t believe how bad their luck has been. It’s insane.
He’s probably the single most flexible player in the NBA. Not an exaggeration
I would say Shai gives him a bit of competition there, his workout routines are insane. But there’s probably no one in the world who’s taller than 7 feet and more flexible than Wemby.
He trained with monks all off-season. Probably taught him how to activate the 8 chakra gates
Happy New Year 🎆
That’s a great sign
I can finally breathe
Going to be his whole career. Just injury watch non-stop.
Unfortunately yes
Outside of the blood clot this would’ve been like his potentially second injury of his career.
it’s more so about the history of players with his frame than him himself
Kareem is his closest match, thankfully
yao ming
Yao is shaq compared to him.
Also they’re much smarter with wemby, Yao was playing basketball all year with China
Jesus lord thank you I will never sin again
Happy for him and the Spurs fans, he is truly a flexible giant.
Dudes going to have like 2-3 of these a season it seems like. The price to pay for being 7’11
He’s walking normally in slippers and is in good spirit, he did tell the fans he’s fine before walking out so it looks promising
Don’t play with my heart, I need a tweet from medical personnel!
you guys forgot Wemby got Monk’s passive buff.
Oh ok he’s fine then
Looks like all that flex training is paying off!
That’s a good sign. Thank goodness
French Anthony Davis over here
Thats wassup !
Thank god 😭😭😭🙏
He was doing a little “I’m fine” kind of wave on his way to the tunnel, really good to see!!!!
Thank fucking God! Don’t play with my heart like that on nye
This guy needs to slow down his movements he averages 2 falls a quarter.
This was the second most stressful game of my life
Any Wemby update gets magnified because everyone’s thinking long term with him. Being back on the bench without anything obvious is reassuring, even if it doesn’t really say much medically. Fans are so used to worst case thinking with young stars and knees. It’s funny how body language and footwear turn into news when the stakes feel that high. The wait for actual clarity always feels longer than it should.
Is he? I have not seen him.
Nevermind apparently im behind
As a Thunder fan, I am glad to hear he is hopefully okay. Nothing but good vibes for him. Great player.
Why does it matter that you’re a Thunder fan
As an overweight guy, I am glad to hear he is hopefully okay. Nothing but good vibes for him. Great player.
Trying to say I’m glad Wemby might be okay and you come here to say this. Next time save everyone your input and don’t be a keyboard warrior. Thanks and Happy New Year wherever you may be my fellow NBA fan.
he will be aright
who’s ready for this to get like 10% of the upvotes of the clip of him limping
(this is a jinx)
TY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
🎶 I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend 🎶
It’s a good thing but god I would hate to be so tall. Like every fall has the potential to be catastrophic 😭😭😭😭
Knicks fan checking in. Fuck the Spurs, and the refs… and a few of my Knicks too.
But relieved to see that it looks like nothing too serious. Wemby is a special talent and specimen and has so much to give the game. Not contact injuries always scare me.
Phew almost thought OKC going back to back
It will never stop. Good luck with that.

Jokic is averaging 73 games the last 3 seasons and Giannis 68. How are they injury prone?
Jokic has an amazing stretch of game health I think he averaged ~75 games a season.
