[Highlight] LeBron leaves Duncan Robinson in the dust to hit the 3
How is that not a travel
At some point they decided that the step through was fine, and now they have also decided that the step back is fine. So we end up with players doing BOTH on the same play at it looks ridiculous and absolutely should be a travel.
There are no travels in the modern NBA
They legit called a flimsy ass travel on Luka right before this play
That’s a pretty tame travel for LeBron and modern NBA standards.
Because it’s his birthday
good point. cant slow the game down by blowing the whistles because the old man has to get to bed
And the ref is staring right at it too
Steps 1-5: Clearly missed.
Steps 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Steps 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Step 12: Likely didn’t actually fire because he was already dead.
I believe the technical gather here is simultaneous to a hop where he pushes off left (gather), lands the right (1) , and then shoots off the left (2). I mean this isn’t that far from a common Euro step in concept.
The left gather/pivot foot slides a little bit simultaneous to the landing of the right foot. But he does appear to keep it down on the floor the whole time.
If people didn’t catch the gather and counted the left as the pivot right away, might see the slide as a travel. I think either way would be a hard call because he also isn’t really sliding it after other foot lands.
The way he angles his leg and bends the knee really sells it but that foot stays down after his right hits the floor
It’s not A travel
It’s like 3 small travels, which refs are okay with individually for some reason. So when bunched together like that, it’s “legal” because each individual travel is “legal”, even when it looks so egregious.
We call that traveling where I’m from
Bro took 4 steps after the gather going into a jump shot lmao, no wonder Robinson bit on the fake
And then pivoted on the wrong foot, btw lmao
“I don’t know how he did that…footwork wise”
You do though, it’s a travel
LeBron sent Detroit to the shadow realm 18 years ago he gets a free pass against us
If you play it back super slow you see, there is a moment where he leaves both feet and has no ball in his hands - he then catches the ball simultaneous to landing his left (gather step) pushing off that into the right (1) , and then shooting off the left, which was stationary once the right landed.
isn’t that far from a common Euro step in concept.
If people didn’t catch the gather and counted the left as the pivot right away, might see the slide of that left foot as a travel. I think either way would be a hard call because he also isn’t really sliding it after other foot lands.
One of those ones that just looks more awkward than it is I think.
At this point lets just remove the travelling rule
probably should be modified. every single nba game has 10s of travels not being called
Don’t know why Duncan jumped but either way that looks like a travel
Sports are rigged
That’s a voyage
LeTravel
How is that not a travel??
The only explanation I can think of is that the refs are looking up at Duncan’s jump to see if any contact is made and miss LeBron’s shuffling feet below. Refs tend to not look at the feet of players when a contested jump shot action is about to take place.
How do you know what the refs are looking at?
Imagine going wild for breaking Duncan Robinson 😂😂😂
On a play where he jumped when the player should have legally been forced to shoot or pass
Travel?
3 steps then a 4 foot slide. Great officiating
Fucking shut up about LeBron it was pedestrian for an nba player
For real, I like LeBron but he’s playing like ass today. Pistons are up 25 right now and I haven’t seen one highlight of the game other than this one.
He’s an old fart doing a victory lap and they’re letting him shit all over the game in pursuit of jerking him off. It’s fucking pathetic
Missed call
It’s his birthday and he can travel if he wants to
Le41Gather
LeVoyage.
Technical gather is with both feet off ground/simultaneous to a hop where he pushes off left (gather), lands the right (1) , and then shoots off the left (2). I mean this isn’t that far from a common Euro step in concept.
This was clearly an improvisation, looked like he spun the between the leg dribble awkwardly and it changed the rhythm and he just rolled with it.
I’m normally not a person who sees a great basketball play and yells “travel” at the top of my lungs, because I know the rule changed from when I played regularly, but I honestly don’t know what a travel is anymore with these three point gathers.
