First year it’s great, you hope to see some improvement the 2nd year, and then people tend to think they’ll improve just by aging, some guys do, some don’t.

I think Banchero is being miscast in a role, he should have the ball less in his hands and should be a play finisher with a good ball handler. Instead they’re treating him like an iso specialist and he’s just not that efficient with it.

Hopefully they eventually get a real point guard and Banchero can change his play style some.

A bit frustrating to hear as a Magic fan. Yes I guess basketball should ideally be fun but you are also an adult, this is your job, and you are getting paid millions. Got to find a way to put it together and maximize your skills whether it’s a fun time or not lol. Literally your job.

I think it was Redick that said these guys spend way too much time reading everything on social media. It would be super difficult but he needs to get away from it all. I wouldn’t be against him taking a week off, spending time with family and disconnecting from everything.

To be fair my job has never been fun.

I try not to think too deeply into comments like this. Often players might be depressed about other things in life and this is the closest they can say to reality. Other times it is because the league started out fun and now they are realizing it is a job and hard work to maintain. Sometimes they are just struggling with the team underperforming their expectations.

Regardless, doesn’t bode well.

It’s a long season and I’m sure a lot of guys feel like this as the season goes. However, this was supposed to be a big year for the Magic, not what you want to hear from the star player.
