There’s all sorts of different ways to be great, but I especially appreciate KD because he’s showing that he can still be a dominant player even when he doesn’t have the same level of athleticism he used to.

Obviously his height has a lot to do with that, but it’s still insanely impressive. Kobe had the Achilles injury and was never the same. He didn’t have any explosiveness and his lift was gone and it killed his jumper.

Basketball isn’t played on paper. Yes, it would be better from him individually if he could have a healthier shot diet as that would indicate more versatility.

That being said you making this out to be “isn’t really a good thing” is pure idiocy. Hitting from range at an efficient clip does WONDERS for spacing and allowing a versatile team offense.

KD is a super elite mid range shooter, he is objectively one of few players in this league where a mid range is a good shot for the team. This is why he has elite TS%.

His shot diet literally does not matter as long as he continues scoring at an elite pace.

Everybody knows that. He broke his achilles, so he can’t get to the rim and is no longer prime KD. But how he has made up for it with his jump shots and still plays at elite level is impressive.

Yeah theres allot of incredible players that youd be hesitant about in their twilight, kevin fuckin durant is not one of them lol. Theres basically zero chance adding him to your team isnt going to increase your wins

I think most people rationally thought he was still very good. He hadn’t really fallen off in any way in Phoenix outside of his handle. He was the Suns’ best offensive and defensive player when he was here.

KD has always had very low amount of his shot attempts near the rim. His 5 seasons before his Achilles injury is just 21%. Since then it’s about 11%.

However, his free throw rate remains unchanged pre and post injury.

The big difference is KD’s mid range continued to improve, his mid range FG% since his injury is higher than before injury.

For comparison, his 5 seasons before injury, he shot around 50% in mid range. Since injury he is much closer to around 54%. His mid range is so absurdly deadly that his overall TS% is higher after injury than before injury.

So KD is in a weird spot right now where taking a mid range might just be a statistically superior choice than driving to the rim.

Like people saying Curry is the GOAT of his era or asking where jokic falls in the GOAT discussion.

I feel like Lebron played PF for most of his career and especially on his post Cavs career - which is where he won all thos championships. Even on the Heat he played PF for half the time. It’s kinda hard to think of him as a SF.
