[Highlight] Nikola Jokic with an athletic alley oop
First alley oop slam of his career
Is that really true? (in his NBA career?)
Wouldn’t surprise me, he’s usually tossing the pass for the alley oops
Pitching, not catching?
Small hands, that was his problem
Never had the makings of a varsity athlete
BBRef has him at 220 dunks, so I’d be surprised if this were his first oop. He’s a well below average run and jump athlete, but he’s a nimble guy and he’s 6’11”. He can dunk.
He had an oop layup the other night. I’d be surprised if this was his first oop dunk but I can’t recall another one.
Yeah, I’d bet my house he doesn’t have 20, but I’d be shocked if this were literally number 1.
The problem is that he has thrown so many, it is a tough thing to google because so many are just incredible highlights!
Probably not when he was as younger and slimmer he dunked way more often
Frequently did the Vince Carter honey dip back then. That’s why he’s called Big Honey.
And if you had considered Googling that, I’ve a got a bridge to sell ya
no he had one not too long ago, within the last 2 or 3 weeks iirc, denver announcers commented that they hadn’t seen one in awhile.
That was an oop layup you’re thinking about. This one was actual-ish dunk
I mean, just watch him jump lmao
He had one the other day from Murray, but they’re rare.
… Hopefully they continue soon, that knee play that just happened looked bad.
Nah, I remember at least one other earlier this season.
If that is true, that is insane for someone his height and being one of the GOATs
Dude is really as efficient as players like DeAndre Jordan who only dunk, while not ever dunking himself lol. On much larger volume to boot
[deleted]
Nah, he dunks a decent amount per season. They are just not highlight worthy.
Yeah he has 220 ducks in 776 total games so he dunks once every 3-4 games on average
And they usually aren’t highlight worthy
One of the great joys of being Nuggets fan is watching the bench react as if it was some massive poster when he just gets the ball inside and dunks it straight down with two hands.
That dunk he had on Sengun was crazy though
Jesus christ people actually dont watch games on here lol. He has at least one dunk every few weeks. So yes he has more than 5 per season, much less his career.
It isn’t Shai drawing a foul or Luka/Lebron scratching their nuts, so wouldn’t be highlight worthy
This comment thread literally says he has 220 in his career
That was posted 4 minutes after his comment.
His first 3 seasons he dunked more often
And probably the last
Damn…
I… Oops
What have you done?
I like how someone literally just says this and everyone takes it as gospel lll
self-oops count? he’s tipped the ball to himself a million times for put-backs. I know his shot is quintessentially a finessed overhead, but his height some of those must have been dunks.
The best. ….
My mind was blown
We can replicate Aaron Gordon in the aggregate ass alley oop
Honeyball
Might genuinely be the highest he’s ever jumped in a game
This is why Nug fans need to appreciate this guy while you can.
Once his athleticism fades … he’ll only have every other facet of his game to rely on.
Arse why?
LOL even Jamal didnt think he would make that.
I… I didn’t think that would work
Made it look so effortful
Like me as a kid going for a dunk on a 7’ rim in the driveway
Never seen him jump that high lmao
Miami is fucked. Jokic decided he’s jumping against them tonight.
welp
Well he has been doing box jumps and heavy squats lately…
Welp look how the tables turned at half time :(
Kill me
lets knock each other out 😭🙏
Is this his first alley-oop?
and now probably his last 😔
of the season anyway
First alley-oop dunk, certainly.
Jamal’s smile 😂
Foul. No 2 fouls!
People can’t just go flying through the air like that Jackie!
He was floating! Is this ghost ball?!
I hit pause a few times, seems like Jokic got like a foot off the ground there!
Never seen him jump that high before.
I dont understand how that loaf of bread plays basketball so well.
I don’t know if he does either
Hasn’t even begun to peak
Ayyyyyyyyy get up big man
tremors reported in south Florida; tsunami watch issued for the Caribbean
Hes evolving holy shit
He seems to add something to his game every season. Just trying out the alley oop dunks now when he is in the Fuck around part of the season.
It’s not even his final form..
He flew too close to the sun. This was the straw that broke the kneecap :(
Woah never expected that
With no regard for human life!
Hey Gordon, Joker is here. We’re all good.
A modern day Icarus, he flew too close to the sun.
God damn. I think he left the ground!
Kyrie kept trying to do this with Jokic in the all-star game, and Jokic was like “No”.
How can he jump??
Never once have I seen him do this in his career
AYEEEEEEEEE…I MISSED THIS GET HIM ON SATURDAY NIGHT ASW
Best oop I’ve ever seen
lmao you can almost see jamal have the intrusive thought and just be like “yeah…YEAH. IMMA LOB IT”
The lob, the jam
lmao its crazy if this is really his first alley oop dunk in the nba
his most athletic play and then he gets injured in the same game…
To see this, and then the injury was really a high low experience
He’s a freak of nature out there
Didn’t know he could do this
Borderline double dribble.
I get it that people here REALLY want more things to be called, but I really don’t think you know the rules if you think anything on that play was anywhere close to a double dribble.
is AI going too far?
This man can’t jump over a phone book and goddamnit I don’t care
Jokic is the most dominant player in the league but at what point does he stop being a fun meme with plays like this and start getting the Shaq criticisms for how far from his potential he fell because he never cared to get in shape?
When you get good enough, suddenly the only things people bring up about you are your flaws. A good example is how every day in the MJ sub (and almost always the LeBron sub) you’ll see some variation of “jj barrea/2011 finals”. They somehow think they have this big “gotcha”, and don’t realize that the fact that they have to keep vomiting up material from over 14 years ago actually makes the OPPOSITE of their point. If LeBron was anywhere near as shitty as they pretend, they could vary their criticism with all kinds of other bad moments from his career.
I mean, I take the point but everyone saw it with Shaq and he has admitted many times that what we all saw was accurate.
Shaq doesn’t really care, which is fair enough. Jokic clearly doesn’t care, which is also fair. He’s not in it for titles or anything else but the money - we’ll be lucky to get him back to the US for his HOF induction.
But he should at least get that same label and stigma of underachieving that Shaq does. He’s way more talented and it’s a more egregious case.
I ain’t neva ever…
Imagine if bro jumped.. all the time lol
He can jump?!
It doesn’t have to be pretty. It just has to put points on the board.
Joker is one of those guys who always finds some way to get the job done.
Jokic dunks now… league on notice!
That felt like it happened in slow motion. Super impressive.
Were seeing his evolution on real time
He has evolved
Stay Puft Marshmallow Man got hops
Might be the highest I’ve ever seen him jump
It’s a brilliant, efficient play that looks athletic precisely because his game is so famously grounded. This highlight celebrates his intelligent timing more than his vertical leap.
Athletic?
To still be able to do this in year 11. This man was grown in a lab.
“People can’t just go flying through the air like that Jokic!”
Joker has more career triple doubles than he has dunks.
I was wondering how do you do an athletic pass. The idea of him being the dunker never occurred to me.
Man got hops
MVP
Yeah- this one definitely sealed it. Might as well give him the award now.
