Anfernee Simons hugs and talks with the Blazers players and staff after the game. Simons played for the Portland Trail Blazers for 7 straight season until this one with the Celtics.
I am definitely a sucker for stuff like this. I love that some people can compete hard and then just appreciate people for who they are once its all over. Nobody gets to where they are without lots of help and support and its great to see Simons appreciate his old team and all the staff. Heartwarming.
Damn, I can’t believe Simons was there for 7 years. Time has fucking flown since 2020.
It’s been not real since then
Ant is a good dude, just didn’t work out
100%
there was this 1 Blazers fan who kept saying Simons is a borderlne All-NBA player for the last several years
I respect that I used to say tyreke evans was lebron lite
Nice show of respect between them
Simons is 26 years old, has made 110 million in the NBA, and played in nearly 400 career games across 8 seasons. He’s undeniably an NBA veteran.
Yet that baby face and coming into the league out of high school makes me forever think he’s 19-22.
Despite 400 career games and 8 seasons he’s played in 15 playoff games lol
I was looking at his wiki page and was surprised that a 6 foot 3 inch kid who averaged 24PPG as a senior in High School was considered a 5 start recruit and top draft pick. Is that good for high school?
Edit: He’s scored 5800 points and has made 110 million. NBA contracts are egregious but is he getting into finesse territory? Guys who average 15 points in the nba now make literal hundreds of millions of dollars???
Good move for both the player and franchise.
Nice sign of respect from both Simons and the organization
