Tbh it felt pretty certain that’s what was gonna happen when it got to OT. Second half of the 4th raps were just blowing up everything, getting every rebound, and, most importantly, actually making shots. The first half of the fourth, and most of the 3rd too, were just good process and good shots that barely missed (i feel like i saw more toilet bowl rattling shots in short period than i ever have). Once the shots went down it was clear they had a fighting chance– and when the hustle also went up a notch, it felt guaranteed
I’m so used to seeing this team fight back after a stretch of horrid shooting that the difference was clear. Compare ts to the game against the Wiz 2 days ago (similar good run to get within 1-2 possession after blowing the rest of the 3rd, but that was followed by just horrid play all around)
People will point out how old they are, but they’re years into getting beaten like this in OT - right after a 4Q collapse. It’s almost certainly mental at this stage. You blow a 7 point lead with 1:30 left because you turn it over 3 more times in a manner you’d expect from a high school team, then turn it over AGAIN on your first OT possession? It looked like they straight up quit after that.
