[Highlight] Suns’ Rasheer Fleming block on Pels’ Jeremiah Fears
That foul call was a crime against basketball.
it’s especially bad because even if he gets no ball and only arm, it’s legal guarding position. Look at the vertical line of his body from toes to fingers. It’s 100% Fleming’s own vertical space.
NBA would be such a better product if the refs gave the defense the benefit of the doubt rather than the offense
two rookies here so they were like 🤷♂️
I keep saying this, give the defense some of these calls and the game will be better on both sides. Right now the offense just does what they want or baits the refs.
It would encourage real offense, rather than just foul baiting
But then we’d be missing out on all that exciting free throw action
But they dont. Here lies the issue with most viewers or lack thereof
He was called for a foul here. NBA refs are fucking incompetent.
How has he been suns fans I was super high on him coming into the draft
Just starting to crack the rotation. Shot isn’t falling just yet, but the hustle is there. Super long and athletic. Needs to stop being blown by on defense too.
word is he can shoot but he sure as hell hasnt shown it in limited minutes.
when he plays he somehow seems to be the guy with the open shot after a series of passes and… hasnt really made those shots.
Ott is still trying to find minutes for him though, because of plays like this, and because im sure Ott knows he can shoot, too.
he looked a lot more comfortable in this game despite not shooting well.
He shot well in college and g league. I think the lights are a little bright at the moment and hes nervous. He needs to keep shooting from 3. Its clear his teammates want him to
He’s torching it in G league. 7 attempts a game 40%. He’s playing 5 mins a game in NBA - mostly garbage except the last couple. He seems to struggle playing PF. Looks like he wants to play center out there tbh. He’s having a hard time guarding on the perimeter. Has gotten lost a couple times on switches. Other players have had to point where to go. Low minute Rookie problems
Which would make sense considering he played the 5 for St Joes.
Dude has gumby arms, has pretty good instincts for a rookie without too much of a processing delay, good touch under the rim, no fear in shooting the three even if he misses it, and the effort is undeniable.
He also has the lateral speed/instincts of a potato and gets blown past by anyone faster than Nurkic. If he’s caught in space without help, he’s doomed. If it wasn’t for his combine shuttle speed being 2.72 which is insanely fast, I may have already lost hope of him being anything but a small ball 5.
Overall well but some crafty guards have exposed him defensively.
Been stashing his rookie cards
Crazy that this wasn’t posted already
it was called a foul otherwise youd have seen it already
High five rule is BS. There’s literally no way to legally block a dunk attempt like this
Good thing Silver is focused on the important things like starting an overseas league and ruining the all star game over having competent refs
this was a tough one in real time.
refs were on edge. fans were on edge. Suns didnt have a challenge to use.
i agree with the commenter who said they wish the D would get the benefit of the doubt more often here.
but in the moment in context in atmosphere this would have been a hard one to no-whistle.
Oh holy fucking hell they called a foul on that???
atmosphere was crazy, refs were trying to keep a lid on it.
plus, refs figure if they reflex-whistle theyll be able to find justification on replay challenge, OR, if not, theyll be overturned and thats ok too. for the integrity of the game, at least.
so, go ahead and blow that reflex whistle. why not?
Suns had no challenges though. :(
I thought they did since Booker forced a challenge after the game was over to prove how bad the refs were 😂.
if thats true then damn Ott is stingy with his challenges
or maybe he figured the important thing was Flem stopped the dunk and Flem’d get his props later in the court of public opinion
like, the whistle already ruined it, why waste the challenge
Insanely clean block, its one of those blocks where both of their hands met around the ball perfectly.
This is a clean block on Fears tbh, not a foul.
I am still so high on Fleming
This guy is such a cool prospect, i hope he pans out.
Defense is just impossible to play with the crap that is called. So dumb
This is such a clean block, crazy this was called a foul
Fears knows that’s a clean block.

Clean 🧼
Rasheer Fleming: “I’m sorry, I Fears not.”
“No, Fears.”
i actually didnt even know Fears had this kind of pluck
this would have been the highlight of the week had he stuffed it
In other news, water is wet.
Seriously, these daily occurrences are just ass. Nice fucking block tho.
