The big one is Wemby. He is only 5 missed games away from being disqualified for mjor awards. Including DPOY which he should easily win if he is eligible by end of season. He is likely to be all nba first or second team too.

I’m not opposed to a shorter season, in fact I’d like to implement the following.

No more back to back games.

3 games max per week, which would roughly equate to 76 games (or 73 games if All Star game isn’t moved to after regular/post season).

I’d look to incorporate the Cup weekend with all star weekend, see if that can be lead into all star weekend or vice versa.

The 2023-24 Lakers getting 70+ games out of both Lebron and AD (76 for AD!) will always be hilarious. Both injured for 15+ games each year since 2021 and found a way to both stay healthy for one year.

Won 47 games with a roster so devoid of perimeter defense that the coach benched Reaves, then DLO, then both (numerous games starting Cam Reddish-Jarred Vanderbilt-Taurean Prince-LeBron-AD starting lineup with both DLO/Reaves healthy) and went 3-10 in that stretch.

They got eviscerated by Jokic the prior season, partially due to simply not employing a backup center that could get minutes in a playoff series (only backup center who played in the 2023 WCF was Tristan Thompson, locker room guy who got signed in April 2023).. They signed two minimum centers in Jaxson Hayes/Christian Wood as the solution in 2024. Jaxson Hayes played 24 minutes in the 2024 first round, Wood barely played that season in general due to knee issues.

So, no real backup center behind AD that has any ability to protect the rim while DLO and Reaves are your POA defenders 90% of the time. The only truly good perimeter defender on the roster, Vando, played just 29 games and for half of them he was recovering from a foot issue.

Finally, a fun side note.. DLO shot 14 shots a game on that team and Reaves took 11 shots a game. Had Reaves as the fourth option behind D’Angelo Russell. I did not expect to write a book when I started this comment, but here ya are. The abbreviated story of the 2023-24 Lakers.
