-Reporter: “career high 9 3s for Brook Lopez, what did he give you guys tonight?”
-Kawhi: “what you just said, making those 9 threes tonight.”
Nothing gets by this guy!
He’s a very astute fellow
Answer man gives answers.
A ha haaaa 🦖
ass toot
ass pirational
One smart fellow, he felt smart
indubitably
I aspire to be just like him
I have an aspiration to be as concise as him someday.
these reporters aint paying him millions to answer questions
Unless he’s playing defense
Everyone here to clown Kawhi but these reporters do this all the time. They give the answer in the question and it doesn’t really leave the players anything to say. Since all the reporters fucking do it, I assume that they get some sort of training by the NBA asking them to do this. Like the goal is to relieve the players of the need to do any of their own thinking.
“Hey Steph, must’ve been fun watching Klay go nuclear, he had a special night tonight with 13 3s, including the game winner. What made tonight so special for you?”
He would catch it!
Except Aspiration lol
Kawhi interviews are like his defense efficient no wasted motion straight to the point.
You almost think he’s trolling. But nope. Just the way he talks.
Anything that involves a full conversation has to go through Uncle Dennis
“Would you call that shot tonight a wet ball?”
“it go in”
“what”
“did it go in?”
“Yeah I believe it did it”
“yeah… yeah thats a wet ball then”
I mean yeah when OP cuts the video to remove the rest of the answer it’s gonna come off that way…
You guys will do anything to beat a dead horse though!
Yeah this was weird. I dont know what happens after this but he clearly continued to talk which presumably was about Brooke. Why is everyone acting like this is the whole answer? 🤣🤣🤣
So they can make fun of him
horse? like the things jokic loves a billion times more than basketball?
He learned from the master, Popovich.
Naw he wasted a little motion here. A flat “he made nine 3s” would’ve been hilariously rude 😂
He’s a Fun Guy.
There’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about Brook Lopez
cant just give u the whole shpeel
i don’t even know where you at
Huehuehuehuehue
A ha ha ha
Being a good interviewee and being good at basketball are not correlated skills
More importantly, they’re not correlated motivations.
I’m beginning to suspect he’s not a fun guy.
That’s why they call him Mushroom Boy
That’s a stupid ass question.
These questions make sense for the purpose they have.
They’re not looking for information or insight, they’re essentially “I need a quote where you say roughly this so I can drop it into the gap in the piece I’ve already written.”
She’s the courtside interviewer, she’s not going to write anything up.
Same thing but for a summary clip. They want Kawhi to say a sentence like “Brook really stepped up”
That serves no one but the reporter. Most fans don’t give a fuck about this shit. Sideline and in game reports are useless and their only appeal are moments like this.
Theyre not looking for information or insight That serves no one but the reporter
Theyre not looking for information or insight
That serves no one but the reporter
Uh, yeah. That’s what they said.
How exactly does this serve the reporter
“Hey boss, did you watch that dumbass clip I got from Kawhi last night? About that Christmas bonus…”
Sideline reporters are created for females which then it looks like the media company meets their status quote.
This is nonsense. Most sports interviews are boring questions. And there are male sideline reporters, too. It’s not about women, so don’t weirdly make it about that.
Yeah exactly this
Not really. Typical question to ask a star when a role player goes off.
Just sounds dumb bc Kawhis response lol
It’s inherently a bad question. Just because it’s the typical question doesn’t mean it’s a good one.
It’s just an opportunity to say good things about a teammate who had a good game. Totally fine question and not that hard to understand unless you are a robot.
“The 9 threes were huge for us. It opened everything up as he spaced the floor on top of his 31 points. It was a huge confidence boost for the team. We love to see a guy who does a lot of dirty work catch fire.”
Yes, it’s a softball question, as are most reporter’s questions. It’s a chance to gas up his teammate. Players and fans get pissy when they ask hard hitting questions too because they’re trying to bait them into a response that usually antagonizes either the opponent, coach, or teammates.
This is like a retweet of a guys performance. It’s how the game is played. Their agents wants him to respond normally with some praise like most teammates do. They literally do this after every game. Kawhi has done this hundreds of times before.
if you just insert “else” into that sentence just before “did he give guys you tonight? ” it’s a reasonable interview question
Its more stupid OP cut out the rest of his answer
What the reporter was trying to get was something like:
“Brook, man, he’s huge for us. Those 3s he made opened things up for us and created a lot of space for James and me to operate inside, and made it hard to double team either of us when we can kick out to Brook to make them 3s, at the same time drawing their shot-blockers out. So yea he’s critical to our team tonight and it’s a win we need.”
She forgot that this is a man who learned from Pop.
90% of players would answer something like ‘trusting teammates and being aggressive’
They want a flowery answer about how those 3s really put a spark into the team and elevated everyone’s level of play.
All interview questions are stupid. Post game in the nfl, pre halftime, courtside interviews during timeouts. None of them are insightful, they’re all emotional questions, how are you feeling right now? how did it feel to make the shot? What’s going through your head when you’re doing X, Y, & Z? All questions that are not yes or no answers but also do not force much of a thoughtful response.
She was probably looking for more emotional/intangibles type answer. “Brook was smart, intense, and bought high iq energy tonight”
They’re mostly softball questions, if you have literally any PR training at all you should be able to come up with something to say. No one wants highly technical interviews in these moments lol
Well that’s only because he answered it while asking it.
100% These on the court reporters are so fucking lazy. If you’re going to interject yourself into these players’ lives then make it meaningful. You’re supposed to be some of the best NBA “journalists” alive. Stop asking questions that a 3rd grader would ask.
Majority of the questions asked by these “reporters” are stupid, respectfully.
Did you guys win this game or did the jazz lose this game?
Man, this ninja is tripping. I’m out
turns around but doesn’t move anywhere
Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
The question makes sense, it just became a meme because of Russ’ reaction. I see what the reporter wanted out of Russ, the problem is that Russ just made the guy look like a clown.
I’d say it was a good concept oversimplified into a bad question.
Players also have egos, so you have to have some tact when asking the hard questions or what you’re gonna get is more of a reaction than an answer.
Yes
if he reporter only said something like “did you guys played perfectly or did the jazz underperformed?” He wouldn’t get clowned lol
Damn Kawhi looking old
Alright, I’m not the only one to notice. He’s got that post game sunken face.
he’s kinda always looked like that tbh
i’ve wondered for a while if he struggles with sleep deprivation. he always has eye bags and could partly explain his struggles with chronic injuries as well
As ridiculous as this theory is… AD also has had extremely baggy eyes for years 👀
Could be genetic. I knew kids in school with that natural tired/stoned look.
Edit: Im more concerned about his shoulders wtf.
I am also one of those people with the chronic tired look on my face.
Also special mention to Blake Snell on the Dodgers. He has the worse looking case in the public eye.
Snelzilla be grinding CoD while blasted til 3am
Those bumps are usually from broken clavicles
His shoulders always had that too
It’s not just the eyes. His hair looks very thin and scraggly
he also needs a haircut
Looks the same missing the haircut and beard shape up
I’m sorry, but they are sponsored by Visit Rwanda??
Hey babe, I was watching the clippers game and thought, maybe we should take that vacation to Rwanda we’ve been talking about. I bet they have a great hotel.
Lmao jokes aside Kigali is really beautiful my wife and I went 2 years ago
Now keep in mind. You can read the sponsor on the jersey. Its right there that they’re a sponsor.
I think they are also sponsoring Arsenal London. Kagame has put in a lot of PR effort to improve Rwanda’s image and the West loves him for it and just looks the other way on all things that are still going on in the DRC.
The West has so many other genocides to ignore, DRC will have to wait their turn
I think Trump already got the FIFA peace prize for ending this conflict specifically (for a week)
They are but Arsenal didn’t renew with them so it’s going away. Super weird having it on a kit/jersey
Why are you sorry?
This man is an arms dealer wanted in 190 countries
Dude hasnt been paid by Balmer clearly
Because it might have been discussed a lot previously and I might be beating a dead horse because I haven’t been paying attention.
Nah, those are actually misprint jerseys
Honest mistake
It’s where they were going to plant the trees.
Is it just me or is Kawhi looking rough these days?
Looks like he lost weight and isnt sleeping well lol
These days? He was just tired. Look up the last post game interviews and he looks healthy and normal.
I spent some time doing this and this is one of the worst things that can happen to you as a reporter, lol. A guy gives you an answer like that and you realize your own question was moronic, lol.
When you slept last night, what did it give you? When you are that grilled cheese sandwich, what did it allow you to do? When your house burned down, what did that mean for you?
When you slept last night, what did it give you?
When you are that grilled cheese sandwich, what did it allow you to do?
When your house burned down, what did that mean for you?
These interviewers are all complete morons.
When i was that grilled cheese I got so warm and toasty in the pan, and then my insides started oozing out which was strange but satisfying. I will say I hated when someone started eating me, I could see my body disappearing more and more with each consecutive chomp. It was horrifying being lifted up to this person’s mouth constantly, a mouth which i did not have so I had no ability to scream or cry for help. I wailed in misery on the inside until I was completely gone.
So thats what being a grilled cheese was like but yeah thats all in the past I’m just glad to be out here getting buckets and helping my team win tonight.
Lol, nice
The joke’s on you when I stealth edit that shit though
I’ve got the screenshot queued up just in case 🤣
“Draymond heres an interesting question…”
KawhiOS is running perfectly. 🤖

I wanna see him and Mazzula have a convo
Reporters need to ask better questions.
I once listened to an interview with an reporter who got asked why don’t they ask better questions. He said that guys are so trained to give non answers that there really is no point, they won’t answer and only get annoyed with you
You can’t have players out there giving away the game plan during the 1st quarter interview. Just say some vague shit about the game and move on
That’s one thing I don’t love about boxing. One side can listen to the game plan between rounds and relay to their fighter what was said because there’s a camera in their faces broadcasting the game plan for the next round
They should do their job to the best of their ability, like anyone should. If the best they can do is to phone it in because the players are media trained then there’s no point to any of this. Maybe if they actually tried to be good at their job and get creative we’d get more from players. But continuing to ask bullshit like “what did he give you guys” solicits a non response by default. It’s not good enough.
“What did he give you guys” is a perfectly fine open ended question. Athletes that understand their job in this situation can pick up on that and use the opportunity to say something nice about a teammate or comment positively on Brook’s game, other contributions, or locker room presence. Kawhi is both hyper literal and looks for ways to say as little as possible so there’s no such thing as a good question you can ask him.
It’s part of the players job to provide answers. There are so many athletes who think they are above everything aside from the sport itself.
Saying what he gave them, then asking what he gave them, then kawhi saying what he gave them.
Yeah great question, we all learned a lot.
It’s not the reporter’s fault that Kawhi can either remember nothing of the rest of the game or refuses to say anything about it besides what was literally just told to him.
It’s one of 82 game and literally their employer will fire them if they ask Kawhi about the salary cap scandal after some random game. This isn’t Congress, they’re all here to make money.
Well you know what I mean.
True but guys like him are never going to give much of a response
He’s made it clear by now that he’s going to just give the Bill Belichick response and keep going about his day
I mean BB responses are also dependent on how basic and shallow questions are. You give him a good question, he’ll give you a good answer
Reporters need to ask better questions
No shit
My point is even if they did, you think him or all people will actually give an answer that has substance?
It’s about who’s being asked the questions too
They know he’s not going to give them anything so why waste time with a good question
Harden gives better responses and goes more into detail about the game when they ask him
He has a way of making the reporters feel stupid without saying much, plus his serious facial expressions are the cherry on top lol
He clearly keeps talking.
But keep editing for jokes i guess
“Kawhi Leonard, who are you?”
“I’m Kawhi Leonard”
Aspiration 🌲. Never forget.. release the files
This man is not on the spectrum… He is the spectrum.
Such a dumb sounding question lol
Bored man gets paid.
I can’t help but notice that Kawhi’s muscles have its own muscles
What a stupid ass question lmao.
People rag on athletes for giving boring answers but what are they supposed to do with these garbage questions?
Say other positive things about the player?
Yeah those answers are boring too man. We could all answer them.
‘uhhh he gave us a lot. Kept us in it and helped our comeback. He was great for us’
Boring cliche stuff. And it’s all they can do with boring cliche questions.
I love this man
Lol. I don’t remember who YT’er said it but NBA sideline reports are essentially useless cos everybody does the same spiel but Kawhi really taking it to another level 😅
There is something annoying about modern sports broadcasts. The questions given to players feel hollow. Commentary during games feels hollow.
Like, this question is terribly poorly phrased and also very uninteresting.
Same with the commentators who give the same praise to every player on the floor. During the Nuggets vs Timberwolves game on christmas the commentators said Spencer Jones is one of the best players at getting to his spots. Hes a 2nd year two-way player. Hes not one of the best players at anything. I know they want to hype the viewers up but come on when you start hyping up anything that moves then the hype becomes pointless.
Ask a stupid question…
“You created it all so you could be immortal. Why?”
What’s wrong with his shoulders? They’re not supposed to protrude that like don’t they?
They’ve always done that. He’s just built like that
Board man gets paid
Incoming Autism Diagnosis’s
Scottie Barnes vs Kawhi. Who ya got on 1st Team All-Spectrum
Apple time, Apple time
I mean, that’s a lazy question. Don’t ask weak shit and expect him to create more of a story than what was asked.
All i see in this thread are complaints by people who don’t get what the objective of these types of questions are or reporting in general
Needs the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme after that shit
laugh remix
Lopez probably would have had 15 3s if Harden passed the ball.
Indubitably
Love it for BroLo! Miss our big man.
To be fair, it’s a terrible question. These reporters just ask absolute Chief Wiggins and expect some poignant ass answer.
Getting old. Would it hurt to answer like a normal person?
fun guy is here
I love how he answers questions haha
Seems like he would be good on the Bucks.
He needs to replace Shaq on that basketball show where the old guys don’t talk about basketball.
He doesn’t know “nothing about anything.” He wasn’t a part of the players who ousted CP3 (he knew and he did it).
Logical.
Such a great spokesperson. Worth all $30M
Truly a dynamic personality.
Fantastic answer to such a stupid question. Sport reporters are such a waste of space
Kawhi is so pissed that he has to play basketball again.
He just loves the game of basketball
HAHAHAHAHA-Kawhi
There’s just a lot of space in that head.
Kawhi with those Minecraft shoulders looking more square by the minute
Thanks Kawhi
He’s not wrong
Worst or best super star in NBA history depending on how you measure success. 😂
Man Kawhi is looking older and older.
He looked so clean in Toronto. Up your game LA barbers!
He doesn’t even know who asked him the question
Let me copy your answer sounds good
Release the investigation files!
I swear to the god I dont believe in if this motherfucke inexplicably ends up a television personality and starts opening up, I’m gonna be pissed.
My autistic king.
“Fun guy” strikes again 😂
r/technicallytrue
He and Magic Johnson have more in common than I first thought.
Not one to defend Kawhi but these sideline interviews are head banging dumb
Agree. Sideline interviews serve zero purpose.
Athletes are not escaping the simpleton stereotype anytime soon.
The dude has no personality
Is he autistic? Cause that’s the only way to explain his interactions with others
The question is worse than the answer. He gave the Clippers 27 points from beyond the arc, man! A center doing that is beyond elite, and you can’t ask for more.
Kawhi is the worst nba star ever. He’s terrible at everything that comes with it expect basketball.
I really can’t wait until this dude is out the league.
