If AG and Braun and Cam were all healthy this whole season, they’d be 24-6 or better right now.

Specifically: They lost to the Mavs by 1 point after losing Cam. With all of their starters healthy through that game, they absolutely make 2 more points in regulation and have better defense. The lost to the Bulls by 3 points without CB. It’s easily imaginable that being able to start CB could have translated into a 3 point swing.

Honestly, much like 23 I think the playoffs in the west will be massively decided by health and matchups. Hell even last season it came down to that with Gordon going down.

Playoffs are always about match-ups and that’s the point. Your team was also a historic defense in 2024 but Mavericks made minced meat outta ya’ll yet i still think that if you had beaten the mavs you would’ve won a chip because unlike mavs you matched up favorably against celtics that year.

Defense wins championships argument is flawed at the end of the day its all about match-ups.

To be fair our defense when we were fully healthy was top 5 (it’s more realistically a top 12ish unit) so we can be the best offense and a top ¹⁄₃ defense

Obviously it sucks not being healthy, but this is giving a lot of run to guys that could use the minutes to develop. Like having Watson improve is huge for the team’s depth.

Honestly having some guys out and the depth needing to step up is probably good for us this season. They get minutes with Joker, guys like Spencer Jones are needing to step up and are delivering in a massive way. I don’t really care about what seed we get if we finish top 4. Lets get some guys some minutes and see what they can provide in playoffs when the games matter.

Just AG and CB coming back obviously won’t propel them to the top 5 defense they had to start out the season as some of that was buoyed by opponent shooting luck but if they can settle in around at least top 12 in defense, their historic offense should be enough to contend for a deep playoff run

Pwat becoming somewhat reliable scoring off the bench (his corner 3s especially) along with his defense has been a godsend. Even if/when everyone comes back, you got an option of Jok/Mal 2 man game coupled with AG/Braun/Wat on the wings causing havoc for a shift if you want, and not feel like you lose a ton offensively.

Since entering the starting lineup he’s averaging 13.5 pts on 53.⁵⁄₄₅.0/73.3 splits coupled with 5 rebounds a game while averaging a block and just under a steal per game. All of his shooting numbers this year are up and he’s doing it at a higher volume. You can’t rely on him to carry the offense but he has improved much offensively.

Last year as a starter he averaged 11.6 on 55/37/61 splits with 4 rebounds. Not exactly a giant leap… He is a fine regular season player, maybe this year he becomes playable in the playoffs but I’ll be skeptical until he does that.
