Fears/Quinn both have to be better than whatever pick the Hawks recieve and probably a few guys after.

The fact that it is even a discussion at this point says everything about him. Pels need to find a trade partner for Zion, whoever has a team cafeteria with enough leftovers

I mean Queen will be making a fraction of the top picks for his rookie picks.

If the standings at the end of the year look anything like what they look like now he’d have to be a superstar level player. The pacers pick they traded to get the 24th pick is currently #2 in lottery odds + their pick is 5th. He has to really good to justify trading 2 top 5 picks to get him.

If we make the playin and this doesn’t end up being a top 4 pick, I think we move on.

Better than the guy the Hawks get

Probably needs to become a legit all-star level player honestly. The trade still looks pretty rough even with these flashes, but if he develops into like a consistent ¹⁸⁄₁₀ guy with good defense then maybe people will start coming around to it

The thing about the trade is that even if Queen becomes the next jokic, it was still awful process. I’m rooting for this guy but you shouldn’t judge trades off of hindsight, you should judge them off of whether it was a good move at the time of the trade. This is why I’ll always defend clippers trade for Paul George, they acquired a finals mvp and a guy who finished in the top 5 in mvp voting at the same time, if you get the chance to do that you have to do it. If the Hawks end up with the 25th pick (somehow) it was still a must-do trade for them. Not to mention that if the bucks continue imploding the Hawks might get the pick from them instead.

All that being said queen is a baller and really fun to watch, hope he kills it.

Better than whoever the Hawks get next year + Asa Newell. He’ll probably need to become an All-NBA player minimum for it to make sense value wise, especially if the Hawks get a top 3 pick from it. This top 3 looks very good.

Fairly realistic outcome imo, Queen’s always been a very exciting prospect to me, and personally think him falling to 13 still doesn’t make sense.

Drafting well covers a lot of mistakes.

Wasn’t Troy Weaver also an important part in drafting Queen? I believe he was also the GM when the Pistons drafted their main core of players.

I’m not sure how hes seen as a GM but his Talent recognition seems to be really good
