He’s been this way. It’s insane. I watch every Grizzlies game but I don’t get to watch much of the G-league. Last year I decided to watch one because I knew he was playing and he hadn’t really gotten much time with the main roster because he was a two-way and was coming off a broken thumb surgery.
He dropped 51 pts and made 12⁄15 3pt and 18⁄24 FG overall. I was pretty high on him as a legit player coming out of the draft but that sold me. The only thing he’s below league average on is defense but it’s getting better and the offense far outweighs any defensive negatives. He’s just a dawg and a psychopath.

I’ve played some G League players before and was able to go to an open tryouts (just watch not compete) for an NBA team (Celtics). They are obviously amazing and can beat 99% of players.
It’s pretty insane. The NBA player scores almost like there isn’t a defender there. A great G League player can of course out play the defender but it still looks like they are trying to get past an opponent rather than an NBA caliber player just playing as if no one is there.
I’m not sure how else to explain it. I was not nearly good enough to hold my own playing them but they needed a body and I was in the gym lol
I remember when Deuce McBride still hasn’t cracked the Knicks rotation a couple of years ago and he was putting up 40 bombs in the gleague every other night, the talent level is not comparable
We only had him for a year, but he had one of the most insane bags I’ve ever seen. Just an unreal ability to find a good shot whenever he wanted, making players 3x as athletic as he was look completely ordinary. One of my all-time favorites, and a huge piece of what is probably the best UConn MBB team of all time.
I only just found out Pat Spencer is considered one of the “greatest college lacrosse players of all time” and basketball is his secondary sport - he only started playing bball for Northwestern during his graduate year of eligibility. Cam was also a lacrosse star but focused on basketball coming out of high school.
I think they’re both way more athletic than everyone assumed.
As someone who played college lacrosse, I can assure you that NBA players are far more athletic.

I think so–minutes will get a little more interesting whenever SPJ and Jerome come back, but I think he has absolutely played his way into the rotation for good this season. Only thing really limiting him is defense (which is not great at times due to being on the smaller side), but he’s always going 100% on that end so not a complete liability.
Ja rolled his ankle again this game, Cam should be starting until Ja or SPJ come back. I think he’s a legit 50/40/90 guy on like 15pts 5ast a night as long as he gets the minutes

Both of them played lacrosse, both were good, but his brother, Pat, was really one of the top (if not the top) in the USA.
YEah, think he won POY in lacrosse (or whatever award goes to the best player). Then played 1 year of hoops at Northwestern as a grad student, then managed to try out and land on the Warriors G-league team, and the rest is history.
