[Lowlight] Alperen Sengun misses horribly the potential game-tying shot, fails to foul, and the Nuggets win in OT (with replays)
The Nuggets end their 4 straight home losses
Ime called a TO to draw up this?
Looks like it got blown up and panic passed to Sengun who was open (for a reason)
What got blown up? KD taking a stroll and hoping to be open? There was one bum ass feint as if he’d actually cut to the far corner and they’d risk a cross court inbounds pass, and the entire time he and everyone else is moving around slower than a fat kid at a salad bar.
Haha fair and comedic, well played stranger
When Sengun shot that he wasn’t open. Also no Rocket even close to the rim to rebound so can’t say that either
Tbh he could have tried driving and seeing if the Nuggets instinctively collapsed to get Jabari or number 0 open
idk 8 inches taller than Bruce that’s pretty open considering Bruce didn’t contest much. Now do you want one of your worst 3 point shooters shooting that ball even if he’s open? probably not lol
If he drives, they would just purposely foul him.
But Jokic and Valanciunas both fouled out, so it would be Adams and Capella fighting Nnaji, Spencer, and Bruce/CamJon fighting for the second FT intentional miss rebound in that case
Get it to our worst 3 point shooter and pray.
Actually i think amen ia worse đ¤Ł
I think he panic’d because he thought we were gonna foul him up 3 if he didn’t shoot it right away
Why would the rockets worry about getting fouled? Both nuggets centers got 6 fouls, they have 0 height. Rockets can sub in Steven Adams and have 5 giants going for the offensive rebs. If Iâm rockets, Im actively wanting to get fouled. Them getting a rebound off a intentional miss is a higher probability then making a 3 at this point
Theyâd worry about getting fouled because heâd only get two free throws and they were down 3.
You clearly didnât read my comment
Nope. No I did not. Actually, thatâs not true, I read some of it
I’m a Nuggets fan and Spicy P is right. Sengun intentionally misses the second free throw and it’s Adams and Capella fighting for the rebound against Nnaji, Spencer, and Bruce
Pretty sure, the first plan of attack was pass to KD. On the inbounds, there are 2 Nuggets players on KD. The next step was pass to the open man, then return to the point guard.
Sengun going for the shot was surprising, no one expected that (even his teammates apparently).
Man passing it right back to Jabari wouldâve been a great play too with how Cam was selling on that double of Durant. đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸
If he did, his an idiot
He had to shoot quick cause nuggets were going to just fooul them.
I know KD is mad as hell lmaooo
Ball gets inbounded with 6 seconds and KD drifts to half court. I know Sengun through up some BS but he could have tried to get open
they still had almost 5 seconds to go, not a whole lot of time of course but a zipped pass to KD id rather see him take a heave even contested. dont think Sengun necessarily made the wrong decision though
Definitely were afraid of getting fouled intentionally (assuming the refs would actually call it). He should have tried just tripping over himself.
Jokic and Val were both fouled out though so if Sengun intentionally misses the second FT, it’s Adams and Clint fighting Zeke Nnaji and Bruce Brown for the rebound

He shouldâve been more aggressive bringing the ball up after the Murray miss. If he had attacked in mid transition, Ime doesnât call that timeout.
Or raised his hand in the air e he stood on the logo so Senguin could pass to him for the final shot
Yeah mad at himself for walking on the half court line lol, I swear y’all don’t even watch these clips let alone games.
Heâs the one who botched the play. Super lazy effort by him coming to the ball. You telling he couldnât make it to the sideline to get the pass? Then he just stands out top
It was a great game to watch
The fuck it was, post the THJ ‘foul’ at the end of regulation
The trip?

Not having this angle was crazy
Real disservice to viewers in the moment.
Some people here are so polite…
Sengun, baby, what was you thinking?
“If they touch my jersey before I jump we lose”
Freeze it the moment he gets the ball and tell me where to go with it.
I want to be on the cover of bleacher report
Dude shouldâve yelled KOBE!!!
Maybe not the right place to do that for some very specific reasons.
Is everyone gonna ignore that KD continues to retreat to half court after the balls inbounded?
He did his job as a decoy. He got 2 players on him, leaving a Rockets player without a defender.
Yea I absolutely agree but the issue is people keep commenting âwhy is KD not taking that shot â âI know KD is madâ like what reality are we living in here where thatâs their takeawayâŚ
You are forgetting the inbounder. The double is his man. He floats off to trap KD and then goes back to his man. There were no open rockets. KD should have been further towards half court to prevent a double from happening. Getting inbound passes isnât rocket science.
And a lazy attempt to beat the defense to receive the inbound. Steph would have got there.
Was trying to get a 3 pt shot off before the nuggets had a chance to foul but yes horrible shot selection
Jok and Val both fouled out though so if Sengun misses his second FT, it’s Adams and Clint fighting Spencer Jones, Zeke Nnaji, and Cam Johnson for the rebound
Zero idea why he shot that. We had 3 shooters on the floor, absolutely no way the play Ime drew up was that. Then there’s that bullshit foul that even caused OT
I think we were expecting Nuggets to foul and figured if we can get any three off we gotta take it
Jok and Val both fouled out though so if Sengun misses his second FT, it’s Adams and Clint fighting Bruce Brown, Zeke Nnaji, and Cam Johnson for the rebound
Why not have 4 shooters on the floor then?
Who on the bench is a way better shooter than Sengun?
JD Davison? Okogie? Jeff Green? I’d rather Sengun shoot contested than either of them contested.
Forgot to name the player inbounding the ball?
Bari is on the floor, you can pass it back to him and there’s a chance he’s more open because of it, which is what I think Sengun should have done.
Why not have Sengun inbound it
I don’t disagree lol. I suppose he’s a big body last resort if you’re having trouble getting the ball in? Idk I ain’t a NBA head coach haha but putting up the shot quickly does make sense I think
It’s just a bit confusing because they have done plays where Adams is the inbounder surrounded by shooters. It looked like the gameplan was to not have KD or Reed take the shot at all judging by how little they moved. I am very curious what the plan was.
Why would the refs do this? /s
Patrick ewing - “What kind of shot is that? Have you ever shot that shot? Do you work on that shot? When? By yourself. I’ve never seen you shoot that shot. I have never seen you shoot it so don’t shoot it.”
last shot should always go to KD
Sucks because Sengun had a great game.
Refs made him miss according to this sub
Nuggets fans canât comprehend that both the refs were shit and Sengun took a bad shot
According to people on this sub - the refs decided the game
Which is strange because I seem to recall his atrocious brick deciding the game
Oh well GG
Honestly I was just surprised at the pushback so Iâm leaning into it
Refs decided the game when Amen magically tripped THJ
Did you see the overhead replay? Clearly a trip
And you donât recall the refs fouling the rockets cause Tim hardaway tripped over his leg?? Game wouldâve been over before OT if it was cooked correctly
Did the refs make the Rockets turn it over 16 times conceding 17 pts? Did the refs make them miss 7 FT? Clean that up and that call doesn’t matter
Youâre right, Houston shouldnât have left it up to the refs to fuck it up in the first place. Good game.
Rockets fans can’t comprehend that they got beat in OT by a team without Braun, Gordon, Watson, Strawther, Valanciunas, or Jokic. LOL
I mean weâre missing key pieces too but yall were the better team today GG
Be objective for once in your life lol. Refs gave the Nuggets the game on a silver platter. Thatâs okay though, it happens for every team. You just need to be okay admitting it when it happens to you.
This dogshit shot gave us the game
Well, I donât know why I tried to reason with you. Bias is a tight blindfold.
The refs were bad for both sides. Jokic shouldnât have fouled out since Murray fouled before he did in that replay. The refs decided to ignore that and foul Jokic out. Just a terrible game from the refs all around tbh. The whole game I found myself feeling like both sides constantly being given stupid fouls.
I mean that was for sure an inexcusable call but I do think it’s silly that us fans only think about the ones on the last possession.Â
Whole game was great but reffed weird. Did the Nuggets get an advantage? Probably. Is it objective or tangible outside of that final play in a vacuum? Nah. That game got blood pumping and people are just crashing out on both sides, it’s cool. Lmao.Â
Refs gave yall overtime
And made yâall shit down your legs?
[removed]
Let them celebrate their 1 ring dynasty
Most teams don’t have superstars handed to them on a silver platter every five years. I know it’s tough to comprehend as a Lakers fan, but one championship is pretty significant to fans of most teams.
Well the refs pushing the game into overtime in the first place is the only reason he even took the shot tbf
Bunch of stuff happens in games
Jokic shouldnât have fouled out etc etc
Ime calls timeout after they waste time dribbling up the court, to draw this play up
This wasn’t the play. Alpy panicked and just chucked
Damn he did have like 3 more seconds, but I really wish they could give it to KD for that shot. Happy we won, but yall deserved a 2OT for the trip call
Appreciate it. Good game either way, was amazing plays from both sides but the refs kept fucking intervening
Why is Kevin Durant not getting this final shot?
Elite inbounds defense there doubling on KD
Did he think there was 0.8 sec left jfc
KDplqyed great defensively tonight
How do you not give it to KD with our personal left on the floor, thats on Rockets for sure.
Shouldn’t horribly be placed before misses? Or maybe add ‘on’ after horribly.
Regardless, nice try by Sengun.
Yes
Hail Mary
Shingate - brought to you by Fan Dual.
Did you really not see the contact that led to him tripping?
I saw it, also saw the hand on the back which would have turned it in to a 50⁄50 call regardless of the lower contact. Would bring it up on the Rockets sub but I have freaks dming me that I should not watch basketball and how much of an idiot I am because I brought up how ridiculous it was to watch Sengun complain and make the team play 4 on 5 for the Nuggets to score easily on the other end, then pick up a T which domino effected into Ime also getting a T, so I think I’ll let them keep thinking there was no contact.
Nope, apparently ya say ya had some overhead cam that shows it. We never saw this alleged angle. Not saying ya lying or not but until we see it, then yeah we calling it this way. Either way ggs
Altitude Sports has the overhead view of it
Yeah just weird they didn’t show it outside of that. Could’ve avoided drama on this. I will stand by the fact that the refs were fucking atrocious this game
I’m sure you’ve seen it at this point but just in case you haven’t.
Yeah I just replied above. Either way, we can agree this was awful officiating for the game.
No doubt, sucks cause we had some incredible basketball between the refs inserting themselves. Good luck moving forward, would love to see 7 games of this in the playoffs even if it takes 4 years off my life.Â
It was a foul
Seemed like he pretty clearly tripped him but complaining about officiating is all reddit does anymore. Â
Can someone post the overhead angle everyone keeps talking about
I keep seeing comments saying that an alternate angle shows it actually was a foul but it hasn’t gotten posted here yet was it only shown on Denver’s broadcast or something
It was replayed on the altitude broadcast. Clearly shows a trip. But even in the first replay angle you can see it if you look carefully
Why even take a timeout if that’s the shot you’re going to take. Â
Throw it into sengun then designed play for Sheppard.  Or just give it to KD and get out of the wayÂ
Idiot
Hey Sengun is a 36% 3 pt shooter this year lol. I think he just panicked thinking Nuggets were gonna foul. Is what it is.
Double denied entry pass to Durant.
The obvious secondary action is to either holiday on the cut from the corner or sengun on the roll out.
Holiday was a tad late coming over and was guarded ao it went to sengun on the roll out.
Clearly, the mantra was quickly shoot if Sengun gets the ball because of the fear of an intentional foul with the back to the basket.
The nuggets seemed to converge to likely foul, but sengun quickly turned and fired and well missed badly.
Not a bad call imo tho
Ime used a timeout and was like “what is a play that the Nuggets are least likely to suspect?”
So tell me why KD is the đnow? đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Same thing he pulled in the Eurobasket Final. Someone needs to tell him to stop doing that.
Cam Johnson absolute bamboozled
Vince Carter is terrible at his job
You have 2 elite shooters on the floor - Reed and KD. Wtf is this nonsense
They keep giving the last shot to this softie when kd is right there. They might be training him for it cause itâs regular season but damn kd right there lol
Should trade him or Thompson for Giannis.
Show the technical foul they called for Hardaway tripping over himself to bring it to overtime
Maybe your feed didn’t show the overhead view but there 100% was contact between ?Thompson’s? shin and Hardaway’s heel
then show the foul called on jokic that should have been on Murray that put Jokic out of the game
And Jokic fouled right before that but they didnât call that
The announcers missed the first instance of contact in the replay. It was a foul.
It was also a foul when Hardaway pushed Sengun in the back not long after, to be fair.
they showed the replay and thompsons ankle clearly hit his foot causing him to hit his other foot with his own foot
Very clearly a tripping foul lol
Not sure what the Houston broadcast was showing but it was obvious on the angle the altitude broadcast showed
It clearly hit after when Hardaway was already tripping and blocked Amens pathway
There were 2 instances where Thompson made contact with Hardaway, you could only see the 1st that caused him to trip from the overhead, and then the second obvious one was after he started falling.
Definitely a shitty call, but then again maybe don’t turn it over 16 times if you want to win
Turned the ball over 16 times and still needed the refs help yikesss
You know… and missing two starters and PWatt got injured at the start of the game. He did completely lock up Kevin Durant in the first game. But whatever, your team is as healthy as it can be going into the playoff.
Na. We lost FVV for the year, DFS is injured and Tari is out.
Hey well maybe go fuck yourself
