Kawhi Leonard on the Clippers sending Chris Paul home: “I didn’t have nothing to do with it. I didn’t even know what was going on.”
It’s crazy how the world just happens to this man, and he finds out about it like the rest of us.
The guy has turned out to be an M Night Shamalan surprise twist villain.
He didn’t even know he had to plant trees
“I didn’t know nothing about trees. Or commercials. They gave me money, and I took it. I didn’t know what was going on.”
Generational dgaf
“I ain’t reading all that. I’m happy for you though, or sorry that happened.”
You think I have time to ask a man why he giving me money? Or where he gets his money from? I’ll take any motherfucker’s money if he giving it away!
Hold on in gonna try that with my boss today
This dudes PR team working overtime.
He has a pr team?
Uncle Dennis
Don’t forget his assistant, the guy at the corner always waving that arrow sign !
Germ? He got an assistant coach gig while Kawhi was with the Raptors
Like when Jon Jones says god is just testing him
Yeah this is the most athlete brained thing. Whenever they do something wrong it’s some sort of test that they need to prove themselves against. Something in their mentality idk.
I got caught drunk driving I’ll show everyone by scoring 50 next game.
What the fuck do those two things have to do with each other, shit only makes sense to them.
It’s like when Chappelle said Kobe was playing like his freedom depended on it and somehow we all understood what he was saying, like somehow how good Kobe hooped had anything to do with whether he did the crime.
Probably something to do with them being treated like celebrities their entire lives and never been held accountable for anything.
Hey why not? It works when they fail a test in high school. SAT score not high enough to get you into college? Try scoring 50 for that scholarship.
Just chiming in because your last bit reminds me of the Chappelle joke about the times he met OJ and they get me every time
“With all due respect ma’am, that murderer ran for over eleven thousand yards” lmao
I mean let’s not put him in the same category as someone who beats the mother of his children in front of them and has a history of DUIs and hit-and-runs
A hate Jones so much he has ruined MMA.
Hes such a bum, such a shame when talented legends are actual pieces of shits. Trash human
I’m glad the Spurs were vindicated in this piece of shit showing his true nature. I still remember all you fucks on here and the media trying to say the Spurs didn’t know what the fuck they were doing with this guys knees and that the medical staff were incompetent.
Having said all that I’m glad his dumbass wanted out and got sent away to the Clumps and the Spurs got Keldon and Wemby out of it.
I’m not even a Spurs fan but I’m so happy people are starting to realize he’s actually a piece of shit
Same. It always frustrated me that other players get criticized for anything and for Years Kawhi skated by criticism because people genuinely believed the memes and thought he had zero control over anything he does
It was literally the only time I can recall where anyone even remotely entertained the idea the spurs didn’t know what they were doing.
Really never even should have been a question; even winning the title in Toronto it was abundantly clear he could no longer play an entire season due to his body breaking down.
Pops secretly loves the Lakers, he didnt want us to deal with his bullshit
you know how athletes say next-play mentality? like forget what happened and focus on the next play?
kawhi takes it to another level
Next day mentality
He’s already onto the next DNP.
Well he is injured so often he probably feels alienated from the team. I bet he sees inside the NBA highlights and is like “oh yeah, I work there.”
Some of his friends don’t even know what he does for a work.
M Night Scamalan
I hate myself for not thinking of that
He was busy working his 2nd job
Crazy thing is, I dead ass believe him lol
Bro I think about this all the time. When I was watching the 2013 finals I was on a work trip and told all my colleagues that Kawhi was about to be LeBron lite. He was so good. And even better than that he didn’t seem to have an ego or a diva type personality. I was so ready to root for this dude. Then, Uncle Dennis happened and the rest is history. Kawhi had a real shot at being the best player of the league for a couple years. I know injuries are partly responsible, but at this point we have to ask,” Has Kawhi actually even cared since Toronto?”
I see dead cap money
Lol why he acting guilty for
Lmaoo literally the most guilty response without admitting it was him
My “I’m not involved in human trafficking” t-shit has a lot of people asking questions already answered by my shirt
I’ve been absolutely slaying it with the ladies every since I started wearing a “definitely not a Reddit incel” shirt
t-shit
Oops, my bad. Definitely leaving that now 💩
“What do you remember about your time with Chris Pau?l”
“I didn’t do it”
If the Klaw doesn’t fit, you must acquit!
Kawhi about to release a book, “If I waived him”
Although it may have hurt his case, Kawhi could be heard saying, “Hey hey, easy with that. That’s my lucky releasin’ hat”
He can only remember so many sentences, therefore Uncle Dennis had to teach him ones that apply to multiple situations and help indemnify him.
Kawhi should ask Kevin Malone from Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch for some lessons on using less words, just so he can add more response options for interviews.
Why plant tree when take money for plant tree gooder?
If paid for plant tree already why plant tree?
It’s crazy that the first thing to come out of his mouth was “I had nothing to do with it”, as if anyone asked
To be fair, he incoherently mumbles for about 20 seconds before he says that
You’re right, but other than “surprised” he talks about Chris Paul before addressing the issue at hand, saying he didn’t have anything to do with it. Such a bad way to handle this tbh
He looks like his mom just forced him to order his own apple juice and dino nugs from the waitress for the first time.
I was out planting trees at the time the incident.
Gives a whole new meaning to Defensive Player of the Year.
As a person who comes off guilty when I try to explain things I didn’t do, I’ll give him room.
Reminds me of my friend who always made his side lose in “Among Us” lol. He always seems the most sus guy whatever role he got
Definitely saw the change in demeanor real quick from him talking about how the conversations were team positive/forward and him saying he had nothing to do with it. His eyes shift his shoulds move even a slight smile.
Apparently Kawhi knows absolutely nothing that goes on around him…
He just plays ball my man 🙃
Except he don’t do that either
He just works as a spokesperson
Except he doesn’t do that either.
He just there for the paychecks legal or not
He do do that
Ha ha, doodoo
Thanks for your insight buttfucker_3000. Invaluable.
He aspires to be a spokesperson.
Exceptional take butfucker!
He plays as much basketball as my 12 year old son.
Except, he doesn’t do that either
Fun guy
I just hear his laugh in my head after this
HAAAA HAAA HAAA AAA
The Mike Johnson of basketball
“No, Lawrence Frank is not a lame duck, he’s the most powerful president of basketball operations of this generation!”
Board Man gets paid
Bored Man gets paid.
He’s like a politician up there haha. “I don’t know anything about what he said this week.” Sir isn’t it your job to know these things? Lol
Kawhi tight lips Leonard. “I ain’t sayin’ nuthin’”
I don’t even know where you sitting at
Huuh HA hu HA huuh
I’ve never seen the laugh typed out 😭
“laugh………NOW”
Brother you are the franchise player. How could you think this was a good answer
Kawhi is an incredibly shady individual and it’s been obvious since the Uncle Dennis stuff lol
He gets to sneak around behind the scenes and can feign ignorance because he’s quiet nobody is going to go after him the way they would to a star with a bigger personality
Kawhi is an enigma. If he’s acting he’s vile.
I am convinced he’s just slow in the head but good at basketball and a lot of people take care of him and tell him where to go. No one bad mouths him or tries to out him either.
Look at that stripper video, he looks the same as always, not even smiling or laughing or any resemblance of joy.
What does he even do with his money? Nothing get outs. He’s not extravagant besides a nice house.
he is so clearly lying in this video it’s hilarious in a way. cos if we think about it in the scheme of life what they’re asking him is really not that deep. i think kawhi genuinely just don’t care.
So autism lol
unironically yes
Pretty sure he’s on the spectrum and he’s just wired very differently compared to your average human.
He could be slow in the head but that’s not really the main vibe I get from him. He’s just very disassociated.
he’s autistic
Didnt he have a wife when that stripper video came out
Pretty sure she was right next to him lol
I feel like Kawhi’s career, despite the obvious highs, has been a net negative for the NBA’s reputation. Even before the tampering and cap circumvention scandals his 2019 title was partially considered a victory for load management and how smart the Raptors were in managing his condition. He personified the idea to such an extent and was successful in doing it that the league has been fighting the trend and perception ever since.
The NBA’s reputation is most definitely hinged on decisions made by Adam Silver’s office and not much else.
We’re waiting for the Ballmer decision, which we all know will be a wrist-slap, if at all, which encourages more of the same.
We all know the whole Luka-Flagg sh*t was a farce, as was the AD-Zion lottery results. Wemby landing in SA was part of the process as well. Rich Paul and LeBron are running their own team recruitment and planning committee underneath many transactions in the NBA as well.
We know reffing is inconsolably broken and skewed, used as tool for predetermining game outcomes and making superstars look good for decades now, to degrees we wouldn’t consider other sports leagues. It’s hard to figure out what’s the worst officiated sport at this point - boxing cards, or the NBA. Yes, it’s that bad.
We know that honest game analysis of the sport and grassroots growth has been largely replaced with a way to sell sports betting to the population. Stats have been replaced with “what are the odds of this dogshit event” sponsored by DraftKings.
NBA media has been mostly killed and replaced with Kendrick Perkins + “insert hot lady” of the week. The culture is not fixated around basketball.
It could even be as simple as this: We didn’t used to have advertising patches on jerseys. And now we do, forever. Gross.
Etc
Don’t know what you got til it’s gone. Stern used to drive me crazy but Silver is outright ruining the league
You didn’t even mention the repeated All Star fiascos…
Remember when Silver was considered a breath of fresh air after Stern’s tyranny and his handling of the Donald Sterling fiasco got him all sorts of praise and flowers? Yeah…
“FOR LIFE”
Can you explain what you mean by reputation? Cause NBA stars already play more than the other big 4 sports.
I don’t think it makes any sense to think that the Raptors championship played this huge role in rest. NBA basketball just isn’t sustainable on the body these days. Load management wasn’t even started there, Pop did it with the Spurs years before and LeBron did it during his 2nd stint in Cleveland.
It’s true that the practice and idea didn’t start with the Raptors and Kawhi, but also Apple didn’t invent smart phones and Golden State wasn’t the first team to take a bunch of threes. But because they popularized and had great success with those things, that’s part of how reputations and associations get formed. The Spurs were also largely resting stars in their mid 30s and being cheeky about it with things like DNP - Old. The Raptors really solidified the concept in the public’s mind with the label “load management” (again, not a term they originated, but one they popularized) and by applying it to a 27 year old Kawhi. Their eventual success with the concept accelerated the amount NBA teams rested players and how much the public was aware of it.
I think it’s fair to say that this would have been an issue for the NBA eventually anyway but it doesn’t help to have a player so associated with the term and idea.
LeBron averaged over 70 games a season his second stint in Cleveland and played all 82 in 2018. Since my whole point is about reputations and perceptions I can’t argue with you if your impression was he that load managed there (he certainly did in-game). So reputations are also about what gets amplified with attention as much as what did happen or what happened first.
I feel like Kawhi’s career, despite the obvious highs, has been a net negative for the NBA’s reputation.
Maybe, but at least he was good for basketball’s reputation. He’s the inverse of Steph, who seems like a really affable dude, but also kinda worked hard to ruin the game.
Shady about what??? 😂😂😂 We dont know these people!!
Shady under all those trees he planted
its been made clear it was an FO and coaches decision, and was said to be made really late at night.
ah yes, when all the fine decisions in life are made… just like the Luka trade
You think they consult Kawhi about (eventually) trading a dude who was increasingly a DNP-CD?
Not the point. The correct course of action from the franchise player is to affirm their faith in the decision makers for the franchise
It’s against his beliefs. Might cost them another 50 mill for a franchise player response
[removed]
I mean he’s technically telling the truth. He didn’t have nothing to do with it
Sneaky double negative. Just straight up telling everyone he had everything to do with it.
He’s done it before. A brilliant politician. https://youtube.com/shorts/uqVNJZP–Lk?si=BtHiWrTMIyUpc29W
I didn’t say I was Jewish. I said I was Jew-ish.
“I haven’t seen that. I haven’t seen that report, I don’t know what you’re talking about rn”
“And if I did know, I didn’t do it, and if I did do it it’s because they deserved it”
He has higher aspirations after he retires
He knows the rules.
Kawhi never knows anything maybe he didn’t know he was supposed to plant trees
The man just needed to plant one tree or even just stand next to a damn tree in a picture
I don’t think he even knows that he is alive. He is just on auto-pilot mode.
“Had no idea…I hadn’t been at the practice facility in weeks.”
“I don’t even know who Chris Paul is”
It’s like that picture of Stalin where there are less people in it every time it was edited except it’s team logos and teammates
i’m so over his clueless act bro PLEASE retire already
It’s kinda fun watching him destroy the lifeless body of the clippers organization.
Yea. But, I really wish he had signed for the Lakers back in the day. Would be even better to destroy.
I don’t think it’s an act. His only concern is that “Board man gets paid”
Even though im grateful he won a chip for us i just cant stand his persona. He acts all naive and clueless but every move he makes is calculated by him and his family
The CP3 was a the coaching staff not liking him overstepping into their jobs. In the clips that have been posted on here you can notice players listening to the things CP3 was talking to them about. Plain and simple the coaches didn’t want him there undermining their schemes even though I’m sure he understands the game 100x more than they do.
Dude is gonna wind up a coach on the Warriors or Kings or Suns in a few years, just so he can beat the Clippers 4+ times a year
Even funnier if it’s lakers
Ok agreed sure, now do you think they cut him wo Kawhis input?
They absolutely can, Kawhi isn’t as important as he once was, plus CP3 was warming the bench
Idk, man. The Clippers seem really committed to destroying themselves to accommodate Kawhi.
Besides the PG signing I can’t recall any other instances of him being for/against a player being on the Clippers. And theirs been no reports of him and CP3 actually being at odds. So why would he suddenly have a input on this particular situation?
Sure kawhi
I bet he doesnt even know his own sister murdered someone at a casino bathroom.
How am I just learning this? lol what’s up with sports players and serious crimes and crazy shit?
It’s been quite a few years since she was sentenced. And she’s also estranged from him. Also if you’re interested in sports and crime overlap, there’s an amazing podcast called ‘crime in sports’ where two comedians cover athletes that have committed crimes. (My description doesn’t do it justice). It’s well done.
That’s none of his concern. He wasn’t close to her in any meaningful way.
I thought this was some obscure Reddit movie nerd reference, holy shit
Guilty conscious? Nobody even said you 🤣
For once I believe him cause you know he never in the facility anyways.
Another no show job?
With how he’s playing the clippers are his no show job now
Kawhi Leonard is Tony Soprano and we just won’t admit it
Running frauds
Meddling Uncle
Evil sister killed somebody
Survived two career killing attempts
…Well, okay, I guess he’s got big hands
Small hands, that was his problem.
He never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Jesus Christ. In 20 plus years of watching the NBA my respect level for a player has NEVER dropped dropped so fast over such a short period of time. Kind of a shame honestly.
How did you not notice any of his bullshit before now?
I know I’m supposed to be like “ha jokes on you, kawhis getting the bag. You are just jealous!” Or some variation on why BOARD MAN GETS PAID.
But no, I can’t. This dude is the worst.
The simplest way I can put it is THIS DUDE FUCKING SUCKS
I have zero reason why people think Chris Paul not being on the Clippers is a Kawhi thing, other than they completely misunderstand how the NBA works, or overestimate Paul’s importance to the Clippers as a basketball team, (not just as a mascot).
Franchise players having influence on low level roster moves is definitely a way the NBA has worked…
Do you mean to tell me that Thanasis and Bronny aren’t on the franchises they are on out of pure merit? Preposterous.
And pretty much everyone is aware that CP wasn’t exactly winning games for the Clippers. The absolutely classless treatment of a franchise icon is the problem
Does he really expect anyone to believe him at this point?
I mean any logical person would, coaches and FO made the call.
A lot of Reddit folks only believe something if it confirms what they decided in their head
He’s had plenty of practice with the whole aspirations thing.
Is he always clueless about what’s going on around him?
“I was busy not planting trees to not be telling the front office to not let go of CP3”
This gives that “I didn’t do it” before anyone actually accuses you of being guilty vibes lol
Stop the narrative he doesn’t know. He fucking knows. There is not a bigger trail of bodies than Kahwi’s.
You’re really gonna accept that the superstar of the team, the same one they traded for, doesn’t know??? C’mon!!
The same one that demanded PG be there to accept the trade?
The same guy that got mad at Tony Parker for calling him out.
The same guy that denied Coach Pop?
The same guy that has tricked you into thinking he can make a difference with all these injuries?
You cannot be talking about the same guy right?
Mfs holding Kawhi more accountable than the President
I find him to be one of the most unlikable superstars. Not as bad as an actually evil person but in that group of players like Ben Simmons. I get you just want to do this as a job but too bad, you get to be paid to play a beloved games for hundreds of millions of dollars, the least you could do is show a lil empathy at times.
As a clippers fan I’m bummed he is the guy.
I can never be that mad at labor fucking over a centi-billionaire.
wbt setting a franchise back 20 years
wbt?
His arc on becoming a heel should be studied.
For someone who gets paid a lot, Kawhi sure doesn’t know and play much.
I really don’t like this dude. He doesn’t like basketball, he doesn’t appreciate his fans, he doesn’t care about his teammates, and he has zero personality. He hasn’t done shit in the playoffs in 7 years. I feel bad for Clippers fans.
You would be surprised how many NBA players don’t actually like basketball. They are extremely talented but dedicating their whole lives up to this point increases chances for burnout.
They enjoy the lifestyle that the NBA compensation provides but the love of the game really just isn’t there.
With that said, Kawhi is a whole different level of apathy and I respect it.
I’m not surprised by how many NBA players don’t like basketball. I am surprised by how Kawhi somehow remains relevant when is clearly only motivated by his next contract.
This dude is insufferable, and im tired of pretending he isnt.
Yuck
That’s a double negative, so that means he did have something to do with it.
TMZ gonna leak a video of Kawhi yelling at Lawrence Frank to get rid of CP3.
Relax Kawhi, no one asked you if you had anything to do with it lol
Washed
So he definitely had something to do with it.
The donald chump defense.
Most untrustworthy star in the NBA. And that’s saying something
I feel like he’s playing dumb
It’s so weird he has so much influence within that team but plays dumb like he didn’t notice a vet holding the team accountable more than he ever does.
This fucking guy never knows anything. What a leader. Im convinced hes hooking up with Balmer. How he hasn’t been shipped out for a bag of chips is insane to me.
I believe him, the Clippers aren’t even his full time job he wasn’t paying attention to it
I feel like this is his copypasta for literally any situation he’s involved in
Non native speaker here, why is he denying twice in the same sentence? I “did Not”… nothing…
If you do that in german, you basicly say you did it.
He accidentally queued the answer for Aspiration interrogation questions.
What a non-leader ass answer
We know Kawhi. That’s the problem.
Yeah bullshit.
I am just a guy. “insert awkward laugh here”
That’s why he’s not a leader
“I claim plausible deniability” - Khawi
The worst NBA “star”.
He was busy planting trees guys… how could he make time to find out what happened to CP3!??
Most remarkably clueless guy I’ve ever seen
This dude is overrated as hell
kawhi plays dumb but it just makes him look like an awful leader to me
