Most people don’t go defending these types of songs as if they’re some sort of masterpiece but the main point is it’s well within many cultures not just in the USA to play ‘sort of silly but catchy’ songs during parties/get togethers especially when there is alcohol involved. It’s like randomly playing Don’t Stop Believing by Journey. Most people aren’t just listening to Party in the USA on the regular by themselves thinking “This is the pinnacle of art”…it’s about the context and just having fun. You know, lightening the mood and not taking your self so serious all the time. For that, it’s a great song.

If you don’t understand the concept I’d have to agree with the above guy that you might be a lonely person.
