Wemby on finding out he had a blood clot: It was 5 minutes of total breakdown. Obviously crying and sadness. Basketball wasn’t my priority all of a sudden. It was just the whole motor all summer and I think it’s gonna be for the rest of my career
Health willing this dude is gonna dominate everything and everyone.
Either will go down as a top 10 all time or the world biggest “what if”, no in between
I really hope he stays healthy, man. I love watching this dude.
For real, this Spurs team this year are the only team I follow religiously that’s not my town team.
That’s awesome to hear. Anyone besides wemby catch your eye? Who do you support as your team?
As a Nuggets fan, I love Stephon Castle’s game, big fan of De’aaron Fox too. Every interview i see with him he just seems like a genuine dude who loves the game.
Harper’s going to have his own team at some point in the future.
Top 3 young cores in the nba Right now. And I support them because i found in a thrift shop a shirt that had the logo (1989-2002) and I just liked it. But it’s also the fact that I respect the organization. mainly because of popovich
same. been a Heat fan since i was a kid so i dont really want to change my flair. but i’m a Spurs fan secondarily. i hope this sub allows double team flairs like the other sports subs
This is exactly it. More so than any other player ever.
If he doesn’t end up a what if, top 3 player all time. The guy has everything from build, skills, attitude to succeed.
That’s wild … so glad he recovered so well!
Glad Wemy is back for todays game. It’s going to be a great contest.
Its kinda crazy, this is the first game all season the entire time is active. That includes training camp and the preseason
Same for the thunder, first game we have our whole starting lineup all year. Hope it’ll be a good game!
If only my squad could be so lucky
You just reminded me there’s a game on at 230 right now lol
Glad to see that he’s all good now.
until the next infection!
Weirdo
Just aware of what causes these types of blood clots and think it’s best to avoid it
Bro mad his team won’t be winning anymore against Wemby 😂
Nah just trying to make people more aware so they protect themselves to avoid similar problems. I would rather he not be infected so we can see his potential come to fruition. I worry for his health if he gets sick again!
“Infected” you clearly have no fucking clue what you’re talking about 🤣🤣
Right?Plus blood clots have always existed lmao. Like god damn, Chris Bosh had to fuckin retire because of them OVER 6 YEARS AGO
It’s more prevalent now because the body can’t heal itself fully and there are long lasting microclots hypothesized to correlate with the spike protein that doesn’t leave organs of long covid survivors.
If you were trying to make people more aware, you’d actually explain what you mean. Instead you look like a glue eater
Covid is bad and is really hurting these athletes. It is sad to see the long lasting damage they are suffering from because they are being infected repeatedly.
better way to phrase this if you’re truly trying to be informative
Even if you’re not and just tryna be a comment section moron, blood clots have absolutely nothing to do with infections. They aren’t alive.
Nobody listens anyway…
if there’s any hope of taking down this OKC team, it’s Wemby + the Spurs core in a few years
Sooner than you think
not if fox + the spurs can help it
That’s crazy, glad he was able to recover
I had blood clots throughout my chemo treatments and that shit sucks. It’s just constant anxiety until the medication starts working.
I felt horrible mentally when I got mine, but for the amount of pressure Wemby is under professionally and physically must be a whole different level of stress.
As someone who’s dealt with blood issues for the majority of his life, man I feel for him. Its one thing to have one part of your body failing, its another to have something in your entire body being wrong
Yeah we Spurs fans are a lucky bunch
So happy that he’s with us
As someone who randomly had a DVT, my heart broke for him. I felt like my life was over. I was terrified I would get another, or it would dislodge and go to my brain and instantly kill me. The feeling of dread and hopeless was overwhelming. Seeing him use that as a kick in life to step up his game is unreal. I’m glad they were able to catch his early and have him properly taken care of. Shout out to the Spurs medical staff for catching it early enough. I’m so happy to have him back. Let’s get the W against OKC tonight!
I had arrhythmia (thankfully benign) and that shit scared me/made me cry, I can’t imagine DVT.
Yeah, my mother had an arrhythmia episode and she describes it as genuinely thinking she is dying. Like a straight up “this is it” moment, and that shit seems traumatic.
I swear my arrhythmia was caused by appendicitis. A year after mine started I had an emergency appendectomy. A month after the appendectomy my arrhythmia was totally gone.
Someone I know had a similar situation but a hysterectomy did it for her (instead of an appendectomy).
Nosy AEMT here - may I ask what kind of arrhythmia?
I don’t have access to the cardiologist results, but my primary care noted: premature supraventricular complexes with aberrant ventricular conduction
My cardiologist prescribed me a beta blocker and I was on it for about a year (before my appendectomy).
The beta blocker got rid of the benign arrhythmia, but I didn’t like how it lowered my heart rate range (I couldn’t get it very high during exercise, which made cardio feel like a slog).
I’ve been off the beta blocker for over 3 years with no similar symptoms.
Im just seeing Steve Nash for every clip on here
This guy is just so amazing, so smart and classy
The basketball world deserves a healthy Wemby.
Really rooting for him to be great
Never really noticed before, but his voice sounds like it’s gone through one of those anonymizer filters.
Wemby was Pablo’s Aspiration source, confirmed
He’s just French bro
I am a warriors fan and a Spurs fan, but a basketball fan first. I have seen fans from so many different teams embrace Wemby and what he represents, I feel like Wemby belongs to everyone. I would love to see him get to his best. Every combo with another superstar is so bonkers to fantasize about
He complements so many other players games
Haha I’m the same combo. The warriors team just feels like the vibes are off, and it’s such a stark contrast when you see the spurs and how happy they all seem to be playing together.
Bad interviewer. Bad followup questions.
It’s a bubblegum interview, this isn’t 60 minutes.
Sidebar: I had no idea Malika was just 30, she was hired by ESPN at 23, that’s wild. Honestly, I see why Rachel Nichols was disgusted with being tossed aside with her real journalism background and experience.
I hear ya, but this dude is kinda ready to lay it all out there and she kinda lost the thread. Had him repeat himself with bad followup.
Kinds killed the rhythm and it’s a missed opportunity.
With you on that.
Fortunately he’ll have the best care in the world due to his unique situation, but I can’t imagine how scared I would be
Malika
this kid is so mature with just 5 mins breakdown, I was breakdown for a few days when I saw another sport kid I supported had an “could-end-his-career” injury this year
Me too Wemby, me too
Can’t imagine dealing with any of this at 21
The game tn is going to be wild
I hope Im wrong but players who are huge like wemby don’t usually have long careers. Spurs better go all in with win now mentality
I mean it’s the same thing that ended Bosh’s career so early, not surprised he would feel that weight
