Jose is a great asset on a competing team. The last year we were competitive he played less than 20 minutes a game and was a spark plug for us off the bench. He literally turned losses into wins with his infectious energy.
I do not want to lose him because he is a fan favourite but if he does get traded I can understand why. And I’m sure he would be happy in NY.
If we don’t get a first round pick for Jose I’ll riot. I know it’s not realistic, but losing the heart of the team has to be worth something. It would be cool for him to play in his home city though

As a pelicans fan, I can tell you that having Jose on your team is incredible as far as vibes go. I don’t know enough about basketball to say if he would help the Knicks win, but the fan base will most likely love him

We don’t really have a true rotation level backup point guard. Deuce is great but not really a point guard, and Kolek is too raw for the team’s goals. That’s what the team is looking for.
What lineups would you see Alvarado playing with if the trade went through? I haven’t watched much Knicks this year, I was surprised to see Clarkson the last time I tuned in
I think they’d be moving Kolek and giving him those minutes at the least. I just think generally speaking though they want a point guard who can actually do point guard things so they can trust the ball will keep moving when Brunson sits.
I think Clarkson would also probably lose some minutes. Cut down a bit on the boneheaded plays while playing into his strengths.
Is Alvarado a point guard that sets up the offense? I’ve never really gotten that from his game.
