I wouldn’t say he does that every year. Last year he didn’t start off great (he was pretty damn solid prior to his early injury), but it was better than his start this year, and the two years before last year, he started off hot AF.

First 10 games for his past 5 seasons (which is about 2-3 weeks of game time):

2020-21: 16-4-2 on 59%TS 2021-22: 24-5-5 on 62%TS 2022-23: 27-5-5 on 57%TS 2023-24: 16-7-6 on 54%TS 2024-25: 14-4-4 on 53%TS

Now I’m not saying it was logical for people to act like he was a bum all of a sudden, we have our own guy known for slow starts after all. But it was easily his worst start to a season so far (not including rookie year). The reassuring thing is that this is his healthiest start to a season in years.

Thats the problem with looking at stats instead of watching the games. Last year was bad. 23 may look great but he shot 18% in the month of December coming back from injury. Bane is just a great shooter that he can go off shooting 60% from 3 and cover it up

It was pretty clear to those that actually watch the Magic, the guy could playmake, if he continue his shooting as he did in Memphis would have been known as a historical great shooter (sad that those numbers dropped as he came to Orlando), and fits the age and character and was the locker room leader and on court leader for Memphis, coming to an even younger Orlando he was going to be a stabilizer and ceiling riser and its showing. And I didnt expect him to bring an aggressive and more confrontational presence to our team also, but we need that if we want to be in the playoffs, OKC is probably the only chill team out of contenders the rest got an edge and we need an edge also.. Only establish teams can be so relaxed. Bane and Suggs (and I cant wait till Moe comes back) brings a fiesty and winning energy to this team
