Derik Queen is the first rookie since Michael Jordan to lead a game in points, rebounds, assists and blocks.
Queen led both sides last night in four of the five boxscore stats.

Jordan accomplished this on December 22, 1984.

That’s an impressive stat and amazing company
The 2025 draft class has been elite so far
Ignore my flair, but I think hindsight will favor Queen. He’s too talented on the offensive end for his age and he’ll only get better as he gets older.
A playmaking big also makes it easier to fill out the roster. The league is loaded with combo guards or big wings who need someone to spoon feed them buckets.
justice for Joe Dumars
To me Queen has a ceiling of a c-Webb type passer with naz reid handles and zbo type post play.
Weavers always been a good drafter it’s the trades they needed to worry about. For better or worse the stew trade (love the guy, 0 regrets) hamstrung our ability to trade picks (a good thing) for years lol
No, it was still a fucking overpay
The kids are gonna be alright
Kids a killer so happy to watch him grown
Whoa, Whoa, Jordan led a game in BLOCKS and REBOUNDS?!
Young Jordan was the ultimate stat stuffer. Just did it all immediately.
The fact he lead in assists is wilder. Like the one big category he missed out was steals? The hell?
Eh Jordan could assist. There’s that one famous chunk where he was the PG like… first 10 games of a season I think? and he averaged 10+ assists/game. So he was perfectly capable of dishing dimes, just in that era wasn’t the best use of his touches. Also in the triangle was a lot harder for any one player to get a lot of assists IIRC.
Pels need to trade Zion and pivot to the Queen and Fears era.
They should tank for a bit, starting from next season, to add more talent and maybe a true cornerstone if Queen is incapable of being one, which isn’t clear yet.
We’ll be lucky to get anything for Zion right now. Should’ve kept CJ and his expiring vs having Poole, DJM coming off an Achilles tear too.
Poole was filler for the Bey trade.
Master class
I will forever wonder how much protection could have been put on that pick and Atlanta still made it. Like I doubt top 2 or 3 (with fully unprotected the next year if it doesn’t convey) would be a no for a pick that potentially valuable, but maybe I’m underestimating how little the Hawks wanted to give up that pick.
They could’ve just taken Queen 7th and then traded a reasonable amount for a different selection later. It’s not like Atlanta was the only team to trade with.
I think there’s a way they can make that trade without trading the pick at all. At the time it was still seen as asinine.
Future picks. Protected picks. Future swaps etc.
There’s a deal to be made that didn’t require an unprotected 2026 pick.
How the fuck is it almost always MJ lmfao.
Derik Queen is the next Michael Jordan
