Indy isn’t giving up a ton of Assets for Turner who is playing terrible this year and Knicks only have a Top 8 Protected 1st via Washington (which likely doesn’t convey and becomes 2nd’s).

Making it a 3 Team Trade with Indy/MIL/NYK doesn’t help Milwaukee at all Draft Capital wise.

Now if a 3rd Team was giving up a haul of Picks/Players for OG or Bridges with KAT going to Milwaukee for Salary Filler along with that “Haul of Assets” then maybe.

Bucks definitely get a better return from any Team other than the Knicks.

Nah - he’s gone. He’d be happy to stay but he wants to compete and the Bucks simply do not have the ammo to do that.

This is like Tom Brady finally leaving the Pats after 2019. It wasn’t really by choice so much as the team was simply backed into a corner and couldn’t give Tom what he needed to win, and it was time to reboot the franchise to get back to contention in a few years.

The Bucks have to reboot now and that will take a few years. Giannis only has a few years of his prime left, realistically. Thus, it’s a win-win for both sides to ship Giannis elsewhere for a haul of picks/assets to help rebuild with.

Benn is a really talented scorer but he’ll likely be more expensive than Nembhard and and Nesmith moving forward, both of whom fit other roles much better. Both are better defenders, Nembhard is a better playmaker and Nesmith is a more consistent shooter. Siakam is too good to trade unless we get an offer that blows us away and I really don’t see that happening.

I would hate to see him go but if we want to improve at center Mathurin makes the most sense.

Most people on r/pacers have been content to just kick the can down the road on finding a center because they have no idea how we’d look to replace him.

I imagine we’d go for a developed center that could help us immediately win once Haliburton gets back. Center is notoriously a difficult position to develop, and if we drafted Turner’s replacement next year it still may take years to get someone up to speed (and that might be time that we don’t have between Haliburton’s prime and the rest of Siakam’s).

Mathurin’s the trade piece, although I don’t think he has a lot of value to be honest. Same with Jarace Walker - we honestly missed the window to get max value for both of those guys.

Playoff teams aren’t likely to be trading theirs. So count Centers on teams like the Suns, Spurs, Nuggets, Det, OKC, MIA, ATL, Hou as unlikely.

Recent center picks like Maluach and Sarr aren’t likely to move at this time.

And expensive centers on the market like AD are outside the cost range of IND.

So that leaves you with who?

As someone who has seen almost every single Ivica Zubac game, he is not a good fit for the Pacers. He does NOT have that pace. They would have to rest him 4 minutes into the 1st. The slow ass Clippers offense that takes 20 seconds to set up just to do a pick and roll fits his skill set like a glove. Honestly, Myles Turner was almost the best possible center for the pacers. I think Bam in Miami and maybe Domontas in Sac would be the two “Centers of the future” for Pacers. I imagine Bam is untouchable but I bet Sac would trade Domontas. They’ll trade anybody away that does well for them.

It doesn’t make sense this year though. It would hurt the tank. This could be their last year for a little bit where they’ll have a chance to pick very high and in a class as talented as this one. I feel like that’s better long term for them than trying to squeeze a ring out of maybe 3 seasons of an injury prone top level big man before the wheels fall off.

center of the future = younger and a fit with the team structure over the next 3-4 years. Meaning: they need to be able to run (alot), pop an occasional 3 and definitely rebound. It will not be anyone over 30. we will be giving up assets or a good draft pick, so it has to be someone good with high production or potential. That narrows the list down. My money would be on Kessler as he fits most or all of the criteria. The question becomes: what does the trade look like?
