Deandre Ayton on playing with LeBron when he took over in the 4Q - “It was just me watching a movie”
He’s honestly been very funny this year.
I wonder if he watches these interviews back as much as we do. It’s always something to look forward to every Lakers post game. Some random interviewer going up to him at the randomest part of the locker with th random question.
DeFundre Ayton
respect for the username
I feel like his quotes this year come across as cute/funny if you’re winning. But imagine if they lost and he was asked about what JJ said on defense and he said:
I’mma be real: I don’t know what JJ was talking about.
Are you 12 obviously his answer would change
Ayton on Lebron shooting 0-10 and losing the game for the Lakers: “It was just me watching a movie”
doesnt seem so nice now, does it?
He came into the season saying his goal was to be the Laker’s defensive anchor and he’s been just that
Why would you need to provide tons of offensive if you have Luka and reaves taking turns cooking
Deandre has been really solid on offense too. His chemistry with Luka is getting better and hes getting easy bunnies at the rim and his midrange is money
Midrange is money, and I swear he has to have the softest touch in the NBA.
I’m not kidding when I say Ayton is the only guy in the league who could make a Wilson ball blush. Every time he dribbles, the seams just… shiver. Every time he goes for a layup, the rim moans like it’s been waiting its whole sad life for him. His hands are so soft he could touch a cactus and the cactus would probably feel insecure.
Sometimes I watch him practice and I just… I don’t even know. I’m sitting in my room in my underwear, eating dry cereal straight from the box, and that ball is getting treated better than I ever will. It’s probably giggling when he bounces it. Me? I’m over here dribbling on my carpet, pretending it’s Ayton noticing me.
I am going to gouge my eyes out, because God has ordained that I cannot read anything else after laying my eyes on a paragraph filled with such peak
Reading it was just that one gif of a guy writing fire with a quill and paper
I smell pasta
You’re a certified jerker
Jokic
This is exactly what he needs to do. Good defense and a few easy buckets from him are exactly what the lakers needed going into the season for their center.
He’s proved me wrong. I thought he would be the same old Ayton, but he’s bought in and played his role very well.
Bro had one bad game and Blazers and Suns fans were salivating saying how bad of a pick up he was. I’m so glad he’s proving them wrong
What playing on a winning team does for a cat.
You could tell ppl don’t actual watch Ayton play. Bro was balling with the Bahamian team very recently and ppl somehow thought he was washed
You can argue he’s been just as good as Anthony Davis on both ends simply due to his availability. I’m preparing a detailed post about this on the Lakers sub. I’m ready to go to war.
And thus the legend of MIT_Ayton is born
I do think it’s a bit of apples to oranges comparison. AD was expected to be the first option on both ends of the floor, but that never really happened.
Ayton has a much more limited role with AR and Luka driving the offense and Bron still being able to turn on the jets from time to time.
I’m guessing that during the signing phase he was explicitly told, “we want you to be the defensive anchor”
And he’s been extremely efficient on offense
My favorite part was when a reporter asked him about his relationship with VJ Edgecombe and he responded with “why do you want to know that?”
Why so specific? Is there any reason to ask that question?

Could kind of see what they were getting at but interviewer was making things real weird like trying to force feed a narrative with every question props to Ayton
Evidence that we still don’t get enough post game interviews of Ayton highlights in this sub
Ayton has been putting in great performances both on court and in post game interviews all year
I love how he put on the Pro Club for this interview
Wouldn’t know. I’ve only seen clips of his interviews
Bro why have I never seen a good Ayton interview until this year?
Its been a while since the fans of the team he’s on actually like him lol
He got his joy back for sure
He always gives good answers in interviews, but they don’t hit the same if he’s not playing well
This! Ayton always has been a great interview
Because playing on the Lakers gives you 5x more attention than playing on the Blazers.
You couldn’t create a better plug and play player for LA. He’s doing exactly what they needed and nothing more at like 85% FG lol
On very few dunks too, which is crazy
Except last game. That was mostly dunks or put ins
I’m loving this man
LeBron aura is insane.
I wasn’t even at the game, but it felt like I was there live. I had this out of body experience as if I was in his body and I was making those shots. You can’t tell me that wasn’t me because I know that was me out there. All the peasants in the crowd was worshipping me as if I was the King.
I honestly love this guy’s post game interviews.
Dude looks like someone’s unc there
Gen Z Greg Oden
This is what movies is made of
bro is 100% FG today
Can we talk about that sign in the back? Crazy that the NBA needs to put up signs to enforce what should be pretty obvious rules
Lol wonder how effective these are or if it’s more for pr
When the NBA literally puts those rules right in the locker room on the wall
DA is hard carrying the Lakers’ post game interviews this year
Man for the shit Suns a d Blazer fans said Ayton feels like he fit in with the team’s culture and it’s good vibes on this team.
He’s always on his A game with these interviews.
LeCinema
another player rejuvenated playing with bron
Blessed to have ayton
This guy on every interview now lmao living his best life
I can’t imagine how crazy it is to see the level of fan adoration and stadium control players like Lebron and Luka have up close. Especially, as someone like DeAndre where we thought for a moment he should be a stones throw away from that all star level love. I wonder if it’s a reality check or a push?
I like this guy
he was just watching a movie when he was ball watching in phoenix too.
“I was just in awe watching an NBA top 75 player take over like that”
In his comfort zone. Be careful this guy could get used to it.
I don’t know if I should be happy or angry when Ayton is talking.
I can’t wait for his inevitable downfall
