I won’t go that far lol because I believe without Cooper this would be a mess; that said, kyrie hasn’t come back yet and Bwill + Nembhard seem like vital additions. They should feel as bright about their future (still got Lively too) as the OKC/HOU/SAS; as crazy as that may sound. Cooper is that good; and Nembhard is clearly here to stay.

I will go as far as to say that his vision for a team wasn’t as insane as people made it out to be; and once he got Cooper Flagg— the vision became nearly complete. Unfortunately, he had to get fired for things to really start to get better lmao.

Their rationale now is that Mavs only own their 2026 pick, in a supposedly stacked draft. So they want to send Kyrie+AD away to force a tank to maximize that one pick they still have.

He didn’t ask to be on the wrong side of the worst trade in NBA history. Yes, he’ll never be Luka, and he’s far from the most durable player. But he’s still a top two-way guy and he still wants to play well for his new team. Going on the Mavs sub though, you’ll have a good amount of people trying to be gracious but you can tell how extremely scrutinized he is. It’s like some people relish being able to shit on him when he has a bad game. Even the gracious people aren’t generally speaking to support him like you would see of a star player on another team’s sub.

KD can’t carry alone unfortunately. Bari and Holiday did their best to help, but we really blew it that third quarter. Reed getting benched for multiple turnovers, Amen really suffering with on-ball offense, general depth gutted tonight. Plus all the TOs in general without Sengun helping handle. Felt like KD could have come back when we cut it to 11 though.

PG Amen is very much a WIP, though at this rate we might need to dead that idea. At least we can still count on his defense and ability to cut and play the dunker’s spot with KD and Sengun’s gravity. Development reps are important but yeah, at this rate his offensive role needs to be modified. Amen and Reed aren’t there as offensive creators yet.
