this team feels like the pacers of last season. do u agree?
both teams are similar in that they have one competent center, and incredibly deep wing room. both teams have so many good wings.
both teams played with quick pace.
I agree somewhat, I really like the teams energy this year and I rooted for the pacers last year against the Knicks
Every Celtics fan rooted for Pacers against Knicks and most of the NBA fans rooted for them against OKC. If somehow we get there, we won’t get the same treatment I guess lol
I think we will, this okc team is disgusting
My wife and I actually said this same thing last night!
The pacers and thunder have changed the way defense is played in the NBA. You have to go 94 feet the entire game and to do so you have to utilize a lot of your bench. It reminds me of the three point revolution but it is a lot more dangerous for players. The level of speed and effort leads to injury. I want brad to trade for a great center with Simons (hopefully zubac) but I hope he retains a lot of our defensive wing depth.
Nobody wants Simons, so it will be him and multiple first round picks.
In a gap year.
Why?
If it’s a gap year we need to tank. I don’t think this is a gap year. I think this is a get Tatum back and compete year. Trust my I went into this season rooting for losses and dybantsa
Just need our Haliburton (Tatum). Biggest difference to me is Pacers had a big shoot 3s. Celtics have more defensive potential.
It’s actually insane that we traded away 2 all star caliber players, lost our two most played big men, lost our best player for the season, and we still aren’t tanking or playing horribly. Incredibly impressive even if it will make it harder for next year with a worse pick.
I genuinely don’t understand how some franchises can be so consistently bad
No. I don’t see them going to the finals game 7.
And no one saw the pacers doing that either. Glad you see the vision.
20 games into a season, with no depth in the front court, and all of 4 people you can trust in the playoffs to some extent (JB, White, PP and Hauser)
The fans here think it’s time to plan a finals trip though.
Just so wild, and not based in reality.
Being a fan like some of you are fans is just so ridiculous
And being a miserable doomer with no joy is even more ridiculous. What type of fan are you? There is nothing more fun than watching young players blossom in front of you.
The Celtics entire equation changed when Walsh developed. When Gonzalez looked like a guy who can get minutes right away. When Minott looked like a guy who was just begging for minutes and a coach who got him. When Queta took a massive next step.
No one thinks it is a probable outcome, they just enjoy rooting for the possibility of something special happening.
You don’t need to spend much energy dispelling “it’s time to plan a finals trip” because nobody actually thinks that.
And this is coming from someone who thinks as presently constructed, even if Tatum comes back, we are more likely to lose in the first round than we are to make a CF. It makes way more sense to me for people online to have fun being optimistic about their own team, than to be some sort of doomer about it.
