I think the reality is the amount of work it takes to put together what OKC has going on is damn near impossible, and even though they accomplished it, it’s so easy for the ball to roll off the hill. I feel like him and Steph also share how unexpected it is. Neither of them really had those “oh shit, is this an all time talent” conversations until like 6 or so years into their careers, vs. people that hit the ground running like Luka, Wemby, Bron, KD, etc.
Curry, Shai, Jokic, Giannis are all examples of this. They have defied expectations and consistently proven that they are all time great talents. It hits different as opposed to being a fan of KD or Lebron. Especially when you early on believed in their potential, while nobody else did.

Nobody has better awareness and disrupts passing lanes like he does. He also knows exactly what the other team is doing so is pretty much always in the best position. That’s how he vacuums up all the boards and gets all his steals.
But since he doesn’t have highlight blocks he’s bad.
They are quite literally the worst defense in the league without Gordon and Braun. And Jokic’s rim protection numbers are atrocious.
