Jaylen Brown today in the rivalry W vs the Lakers: 30/8/8 on 10-22 shooting, 3-7 from 3
We need to get those MVP chants going in the Garden. He deserves it.
1st team All NBA *clap clap clap clap clap* 1st team all NBA *clap clap clap clap clap*
The entire league needs to place RESPECT on this man’s name.
At each and every level, he’s been doubted and disrespected yet has overcome, overperformed and over achieved. And he still has so much potential.
Cherish this man, Celtics.
Jaylen Brown prime years just starting. We are truly blessed to get to watch two superstars who want to be and stay Celtics.
Seriously never trade him. Fuck Giannis and those that want to trade JB for him. JB is a legit superstar in his own right and younger
And he’s grown up a Celtic. I don’t get the disloyalty from some fans.
They think they’re “being analytical” but are actually just being dicks.
He’s averaging 30 pts per game this season
His career average is 19 pts per game
More points per game is easily explained by Tatum’s absence, but Brown’s consistency just comes from him being a fucking dawg
Jaylen was asked to step up this season and he has. It’s insane how much luck has favored this team over the past decade+, Tatum’s injury notwithstanding
And the bigger challenge is he has to be willing to step back in a few months which I know he’ll do with zero issues. There aren’t many players that would prove they can be a #1 and be willing to go back to being #2
Best and most ethical player on the floor tonight
And he plays defense
JB needs to get a better whistle from the refs
Unfortunately he doesn’t contort and move his body in unnatural ways when shooting to “draw contact” and doesn’t flop around like a fish when he does get hit (or when he doesn’t as is the case for most)
Now imagine that stat line if he got a whistle in the paint like Reaves
JB too much integrity to flop around like a fish. Damn refs reward that garbage too much
Our ethical hero
I dont post much, but I love Jaylen Brown.
Can we talk about the 29-12 free throw disparity on our own home court? They ain’t even hiding it
Reaves took 17 free throws himself
Where does he project in the all nba race ? It’s positionless this year.
Surely second team at the moment
You don’t count 10 guys outperforming him?
10? Absolutely not

This does not accurately reflect the value of basically all other stats versus rebounding imo. Need to just remove rebounding altogether or give it a .5 Rating or something.
It’s just basic counting stats doing points + rebounds + assists + steals + blocks and subtracting missed shots and turnovers. I only share it to share potential candidates. Do you think there are 10 outperforming brown? What’s your 3 teams right now ? I could def see brown making 2nd team again.
I like that sheet for sure, just think it could be tweaked to be a bit more useful for sorting with weights applied to stats maybe. Would be a fun thing to tinker with.
I think the top 5 there on the list are likely locks for first team if they play enough games. Maxey, Edwards, Cunningham, Sengun, Brown next? Not necessarily in that order.
There’s other guys like Reaves and Giddey who have legit claims, but eligibility will disqualify some players for too many missed games so there’s a solid chance Jaylen gets 2nd team.
I think Reeves will suffer from being second fiddle on his team and Giddey lack of team success will hurt him. If the Celtics stay on this track I’d expect him to be above both those guys.
No less than second team. But honestly this is the year for him if he wants first team especially with the injuries
Patriots easy schedule = Launching Drake Maye into superstardom.
Celtics w/o Tatum = Launching Jaylen Brown into superstardom.
What a pleasant year; Sox, Pats, Bruins (Geeeekie) and Celtics look incredibly setup for the future.
And made all 3 in a row in quick succession
JB just spanking their a$\(e\)
