Time to apologize to this menace
What they’re doing with this season is brilliant. Reset the salary cap, and give some of the young talent stashed on the bench or D League a chance to see if they can earn a role on a contender. Figure out who’s a keeper and who’s not, then spend money again next year on anywhere that’s weak. Walsh is a keeper.
Yeah I expected that route but wasn’t expecting Walsh, Minott, and Hugo to look this good
nah man its so nice isn’t it
It sooooo nice lol.
Before the season even started, there were some negative remarks about drafting Hugo. Let’s put it this way. If Brad Stevens at Butler had Pitino money from Kentucky, Louisville, etc. Butler might have won more titles than Pitino.
Don’t forget Queta
Yeah he’s been better than advertised but I think we have just about seen his ceiling the others I think still have lots of potential
Sure, but I would not have believed that he had this ceiling before this season. I do get your point about the other guys having likely quite a bit more room to grow though.
With all the unrestricted free agents next year they have a chance to stack the deck. Hopefully without over extending.
Walsh torched the g league last season
Shit man we thought Hugo was gonna be in the G League most of the year. What a crazy change of events.
I feel so old. I have two kids, 24 and 22. My 22 year old was born in ‘03. Gonzalez was born in ‘06! 🤯
I mean I wouldn’t call that “brilliant”, it’s kind of just the most logical thing to do.
You would be surprised how many teams lack any sense of logic
Exactly.
I am sorry Nair Jordan; I did not respect your game, and I hope you will forgive me
ROFL @ “Nair Jordan”
It’s great but hopefully it’s not offensive to him.
I made an observation in one early season game that Hugo, Garza, Houser, Pritchard and Walsh were all on the court “not often you see a lineup of 4 white guys and a guy with no eyebrows” and someone ripped into me for “making fun of a guy with an autoimmune condition” so then I deleted the comment out of respect and he went out of his way to draw attention to that too in a separate thread.
Hahahaha. I wonder if he’d like this nickname more than the ‘Garbageman’. I think it’s fucking brilliant but then again I don’t have alopecia so….
He definitely doesn’t like Garbageman. Not sure about Nair.
I know. That’s why I’m curious if a nickname revolving around his medical condition would be more/less appreciated by Walsh. It’s an awesome nickname IMO but I’m not sure he’d share the sentiment. Although, if he embraced the name it could lead to some fantastic sponsorship opportunities I bet.
Agree. Certainly wouldn’t want to offend. Maybe Abby or Noa will ask.
Yeah, right you’re wider than somebody with alopecia and you only say that type of shit on here because you would never say that to somebody’s face
He’s still black and he’s got 100 times better attitude than anybody like you. You gotta sit on this fucking platform to try to talk shit that just shows how many friends you really got.
Are you jealous that he’s better than you that he looks better than you that he’s got a better heart than you that he’s got more money than you and that he’s an actual man ?
I can tell you what your nickname would probably be
That’s the lubricator cause you stay lubed up cause every other dude that walks around you bends you right over and treats you just the way you talk to other people and about other people …
Wait till someone with alopecia comes up and bends you with the fuck over and a pretzel that you ain’t gonna get out of….
Watch your mouth
There’s always someone bigger and badder than you out there ,
Make sure you keep that same energy
Cause you’re truly a disgusting human being 👍🏼
He is him.
He is Him
Jordan “Drake Maye” Walsh
Jordan “Michael “Jordan Walsh” Jordan” Walsh
🎯
I am the eggman
Jordan “I am the walrus” Walsh
He is him indeed
Him Is He
This is the way.
Never been so glad to be so wrong. 🙏
I’ll be the first to admit that I thought he didn’t have the dawg in em
I’m sorry. I legit thought this guy sucked and was on his way out of the league. In retrospect, I thought the same thing about Avery Bradley after his first season and he ended up being my favorite player for a while. Maybe Walsh is following that same developmental path. Only 21 years old. My bad.
I miss Avery Bradley
Bradley legit looked like the worst guard I’d ever seen his rookie year. Looked like he’d never dribbled a basketball before and everything he did looked odd because of his boxer posture coupled with fumbling the ball. Then he stuck to his strengths and became an absolute dawg
Once he grows into his body he’s gonna be insufferable. Out there movin slightly better than a baby deer and clamping dudes
So many people didn’t even want to give him a chance this season, of all seasons. Straight up insulting him for not getting minutes as a 19⁄20 year old 2nd rounder on arguably the most stacked roster in the league. Ignoring his impressive Summer League performance this year only to double down on the insults after he sat preseason due to injury. Let the praise be as loud as the hate, because there was a lot of it… And may I remind you, Walsh and Minott are on the books for a mere ~5mil next season, which should give Brad some flexibility to spend while also ducking the second apron a second time to reset the penalties, allowing for an all-in season again spending-wise in 27-28. If Walsh’s play at that point demands a large contract, the timeline fits to match any offers he might get. Given Brad’s history he might just try for an early extension, but the other option affords more flexibility in the meantime if the end goal is exceeding the second apron anyways.
At least he’s also signed through next season. If he keeps up this trajectory, he might command a good size contract
Everyone was ready to turn their back after that flagrant foul / push in the summer league.
Jordan Walsh revenge tour.
I truly believe that Joe is like 75% the reason that he’s succeeding. You know he’s hyping up Walsh 24⁄7 behind the scenes, perfect project player for Mazzula to develop.
He was so fuckin raw at Arkansas and his first years here he looked like a newborn deer at times but you can’t deny his tenacity, his build, and his instinct for defense (which was not a thing at arky lol he was a flashy dunker and cutter and that was with good setup). You could see his motor even in HS though, which is why they recruited him.
I’m sorry king you have earned my respect
i did not see this coming. mea culpa.
I never had a bad thing to say. You?
Same. I just read stuff here. I trust the coaching staff. They know what they’re doing.
Queta having a monster year too.
With huge contracts in the Jays and DWhite, we needed to find role players, and by god have we.
Love it. Carry on
He’s also 6’6 like another Jordan. Makes sense why he’s so good.
Just got back from this game. IMO watching him on both ends was the highlight
Ive been apologizing for like 6 games in a row
I am sorry Yakub
Look at those new eyebrows
During his interview I thought maybe they were always there but were light enough that I hadn’t noticed them.
He chose well. They suit him.
At least we didn’t shed him ala Nesmith.
Still sad about that one- Aaron turned into exactly the guy they drafted him to be except for Indy not us
We don’t win it all without Jrue
This is true but Aaron was traded for Brogdon, not Jrue. Fact that Brogdon was part of the Holiday package is not transitive- Blazers didn’t make that trade to get Brogdon, they did it bc they were in a massive pickle resulting from Dame forcing his way out & knowing Holiday would never re-sign. Brogdon was salary matching mostly
Irregardless, Nesmith grew into being what would have been a perfect fit with JB/JT/DW long term
They still don’t make that trade without Brodgon who was coming off a 6th man of the year.
I wouldn’t call Nesmith a perfect fit. Walsh is bigger, longer, and much better defensively. Walsh’s 7’3” wingspan vs. Neismith’s 6’10”. Walsh is scary right now. Neismith is never going to scare anyone.
Guilty
Just here to say I ALWAYS believed
I feel like jb had a talk with him, like this is your opportunity. Our team was so stacked it was hard for him to break into the rotation. Tatums injury was terrible but let’s look on the bright side of things here.
Just how the Hayward (& Kyrie before the playoffs) injury benefited the Jays’ growth. Gotta find the silver linings in these moments.
Yea, it’s truly unbelievable how Jordan has taken his destiny in his own hands and gotten them demons out of his head. From one ring away from being relegated to the shadow realm to starting in the champion Celtics. Great to see the kid having success.
Id like to think rodman as his ceiling, but better because he can shoot threes.
You’re so fuckin rite
That’s actually a good comparison. In addition to lock down defense Walsh seems to have good rebounding instincts like Rodman. On the plus side he’s not batshit crazy like Rodman lol!
I’m truly sorry, Jordan Walsh. I was not familiar with your game.
I’m taking a victory lap on this one and I’m not ashamed
I was like this a long time ago in high school, and was called “the pest.”
Hate to say atodaso. … But a fahkin atodoso!
He’s reached HIM status
Bro istg he looks like piccolo my boy is the king of aura
👍
Jordan “Powder” Walsh is a SHOCKER!

I didn’t think we needed to cut him but I for sure that Minott and Hugo would overtake him ,but boy oh boy that was before I saw how much of a menace this guy was on ball. He’s coming along offensively as well. If he keeps this up he can earn a starting spot next year.
Scared the 💩out of Lefraud from even suiting up
I want a Cs shirt his name on it for Christmas.
What’s his ceiling
Jayson Tatum
How many goats can we possibly have
The claw
Apologize? He should thank me for writing him off.
Wasnt he the MVP of the G League Finals 2 years ago?
No. JD Davison was G-league league MVP.
Yessss thats right thank you
The Cue Baller
I just want to know what the ceiling is now… dudes a potential star at this point. But is that realistic?
At this rate I think he can be one of the leagues premier 3&D players if he keeps improving at the rate he has been.
Neismith might be his ceiling?
Nesmith is a good defender but Jordan looks elite right now. Hope he can keep it up.
The kid has earned his flowers.
This dude is fire!
Jordan is killing it this year. I’m glad he’s getting the minutes that he is this year. After that flagrant in the summer league I was unsure about him but he’s been playing amazing this season
Sorry
Always been a believer and finally I am getting my dividends.
Call me impressed.
Thinking about Naismith I was hoping some young talent would emerge this year with all of the extra reps but exceedingl my expectations by a mile
glad he’s proving me wrong
Anyone who paid attention to Walsh in the minors could see this coming a mile away
Gonna be the best bald player in NBA history
He legit looks like a poor mans Kawhi Leonard on defense which is fucking amazing coming from a guy like that
I always knew he could defend at a high level but now hes starting improve offensively.
People actually wanted him cut? Thats wild even at the beginning of the season, especially with our roster
Meathead rules!
Nosferatu ??
I’m sorry Red, for I have sinned…
The Garbage Man has arrived
Absolutely couldn’t have said it better myself….
(WHAT YOU DON’T ALL UNDERSTAND IS THAT PLAYING BASKETBALL AND PRACTICE IS WAY DIFFERENT THAN PLAYING BASKETBALL IN FRONT OF THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF FANS AND A WHOLE OTHER TEAM THAT YOU MAY BE A LITTLE INTIMIDATED BY……. Every player goes through that. “ the garbage man.” (he hates that and I don’t wanna put that out there. He truly hates it, but for him to already be having a “ name “ shows that he’s already gotten into a level that many haven’t “ baby Rodman “ is better than that, but A little believing in yourself And then, knowing you got drafted for a reason ….
This kid‘s gonna go to levels that people haven’t seen
Joe Mazzula to basketball 🏀 = Bill Belichick to football 🏈
This team is gonna be a championship team without Tatum even being on the floor by the time he gets back…..
If we had won those three games that were decided by a bucket in the very beginning, we’d be at the top of the east right now
The only problems I see is getting through OKC you gotta give credit with credit still but I’m from Boston Celtics are my team….
We’ll get there…. We always do….. 🍀🍀🍀
I am sorry I said yku looked like the alien in that bootleg E.T. movie “Mac and Me”.
I did not see this coming from Jordan Walsh at all. He had moments where he looked good in precious years but they were few and far between. Now they are a good 80% of the time he’s on the floor. He is a defensive menace. and reminds me of Marcus with his tenacity and belief that he can steal the ball from you. His growth is visible game by game. He could be a serious problem for teams if he continues on this trajectory.
I ain’t apologizing for shit I been waiting for this man’s time to come, it was only a matter of time
I’m sorry. I may have been wrong here.
I always had high hopes that Mr. Clean will eventually have a breakout season. I’m just so happy for him right now.
0 P
Kid is on fire right now
It’s crazy how early some of y’all gave up on him. He was a 21 year old, 2nd round pick going into just his 3rd year, idk why anyone expected him to just immediately be a productive, NBA-ready player in his first 2 seasons.
At Arkansas, he was uber athletic, but still super raw and only played 1 year of college ball, he was always gonna be a guy that needed a couple years of development before getting real playing time.
I definitely did not have Jordan Walsh shooting 45% from three on my bingo card.
1st season: 22% 2nd season: 27% 3rd season: 45%?!?!?
Whatever the C’s are doing in Maine, it’s legendary. Luuuke (RIP), Hauser, Neemi, Walshy are just off the top of my head as guys who went from Maine to solid NBA starter level which is crazy for one organization in a pretty short time frame.
Gladly take the L in this one. I thought he was euro bound with that jump shot. He put in the work though.
Per ESPN he, over his last four outings, has averaged 15.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 threes, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks over 28.2 minutes per game.
So does he have alopecia? I’ve seen that do quite a number on ppl, but those challenges can also make very strong adults. I see it in his game and he wears the frustration on his face.
for a late round first rounder i think this development happened on schedule
Actually he was a mid second round pick
Just thought I’d share this interaction here in September before the season kicked off.
As you all know, I love JB and the reason I even brought this up was I remembered that Jordan seemed to play well with JB.

The garbage man!!!
Always thought his D and rebounding would be good. His O skills are waay better than I imagined.
Saw the game live last night and the Celtics are have exceeded my expectations! Jordan Walsh has transformed into an incredible 3 & D wing. Played Reeves tough untill he got into foul trouble. Kudos to JB for proving that he is a legit #1 and coach Joe for developing the bench Mafia.

The garbage man !
Captain Chaos!
I already apologized in the game thread but I definitely did not see the greatness in this man. I admit, I did call him smeagol. For this I am ashamed. He is a damn sexy defensive smeagol who is brilliant and beautiful. Much like my previous favorite Celtic - Marcus Smart. The ball is Jordan Wash’s “Precious” along with a “Ring” and that’s okay.
I love this dude but he looks like his textures haven’t loaded.
I think Walsh’s nickname should be “Precious, or myyyy precious.” A let’s go “precious chant would be sick.”
