All three of the Lakers Game-Winning Buzzer-Beaters in 2025. Only the ‘25 Lakers and ‘21 Kings have done so this decade. I compiled a list of every team to do this:
Why would you do calendar year and not the actual NBA year?
So the lakers can be given an accolade
But if he did by season he’d get to put Kobe’s 3 buzzer beaters in 28 days (12⁄2009-1⁄2010)
Interesting. Must not be a true laker fan if he’s bending the rules for Rui at the expense of Kobe
22 of the last 30 top post are about the Lakers (Or their players). Even over 12 hours since the game
Adam Silver cooked with that Luka trade
Luka was in Slovenia for this game. This isn’t even about him. Lebron streak ending after 18 yrs / buzzer beater win brought back in lot more casuals. Steph is the only other active NBA player who can bring this amount of casuals and fans together.
And Luka didn’t even play last night
The team sold for a record ten billion a month after the trade. People think it’s a coincidence lol you can’t make this shit up
Because a) I was only going to post the clip, I made it before the post. But it felt like a pretty rare thing so I looked it up and found something that other people might want to see when their team did it.
b) It’s much harder to search play-by-play stuff by season than other stats, but I found a list with “year” in the column that I could comb through. This also guranteed playoffs were included (some website lists leave them out) and the sample is roughly the same size.
If there’s a date field, you could create a reference table with season start and end dates (lazily, you could set it sometime in July if you don’t want to look up exact dates).
Then with that reference the season by selecting where [Game Date] BETWEEN [Season Start] AND [Season End].
You could even set that up as a scalar function to call in your query to make it a little cleaner.
I’m sure there’s a way more efficient way to do that, but if you don’t mind brute forcing it a bit it would work in a pinch.
There is no date field, I don’t have stathead. Anyway, I just wanted to share what I found because I couldn’t recall my team having this many in a recent memory.
But whatever, people are mad over pointing out an outlier occurrence because the window shifted 3 months over. I’ll just stick to P-R-A and TS%. Won’t waste my time again lol
My bad man, I didn’t mean to come off like I was talking down to you.
I just like talking about query and data transformation stuff.
I think it’s neat.
Nothing on you, more on the dickheads who think I’m typing out Neil Johnston and Quinn Buckner’s names on my phone keyboard because THAT will make people circlejerk the Lakers harder. Like as if I couldn’t just post any random LeBron or Luka stat to do that lol
It’s a bad list anyways, doesn’t even include any playoff games, which is where buzzer beaters matter the most.
Obviously it includes playoff games. A calendar year has playoff games.
Obviously it doesn’t, seeing as no Hali game winners from playoff run are there
Did the Pacers have three buzzer beaters that year?
Yea, he had like 5 with ~1 second remaining
A shot made with 1 second remaining might not be counted as a buzzer-beater here, since technically it isn’t one.
lebron 3 buzzer beaters in one year lmao, clutch goat
And then two more in the Playoffs.
In some fine company with Gilbert Arenas and Tobias Harris lmao
Apparently the Lakers can only hit buzzer beater game winners on the road since 2020.
Honorable mention to one of my favorite NBA clips of all time:
https://youtu.be/WK7lIjFsGvg?si=NgLx7W61_zy9f7f6
All 3 on the road too
That (towel) headband wave will forever make me chuckle
that last angle on the Rui shot is so sick i could see that being in a commercial
The title is redundant
How so? In theory, a buzzer beater could be game-tying, or it could even beat an end-of-quarter buzzer rather than end-of-game.
Yeah like the other dude, how is this redundant. There are game winners, with 20 sec left.
Then there is a game tying buzzer beater or just a simple buzzer beater regardless of scores just maximizing the 24 sec shot clock.
r/lakers lil bro
