Marc Spears on Chris Paul: “Does he want to retire, is he done? I was told absolutely not.”
Come back to where it all started CP. Finish strong 20 years later
I was so confused before I remembered New Orleans Hornets spent Katrina year in OKC
My man
Gets an actual chance to win a ring and he’s beloved there, hope it happens. No idea who y’all would cut though, suffering from success fr
Dieng is a pretty easy cut
What team?
OKC but they literally have no players to cut except for kenrich williams, and they’d never do that
Ousmane Dieng?
Not sure if we can a medical exemption for Sorber since he will be out all year
Shit maybe for Topic too at this point. Hard to believe he plays this year if he’s going through chemo
Is he just ass or something? I remember when the Thunder were still tanking, they took a few shots in the dark on lengthy forwards (Poku also comes to mind).
Can’t teach height obviously, but sometimes it just doesn’t pan out.
Dieng has had some flashes, but is just not consistent enough to regularly get minutes. I can see a world where he pans out as a rotation player somewhere else.
He’s horrible. He could improve but i doubt it.
He is on a rough spot. Too good for the G League but not good enough for the NBA.
There are not any real minutes for him on our team but I could see him getting minutes on other teams.
Has some the skills but never to fully showcase it. His biggest problem is his mentality. It should come with more playing experience but he just couldn’t stay on the court long enough as more and more of our new guys leapfrog him in developmental priority.
He’s pretty bad, not good enough to get minutes on OKC.
He’s also the fourth youngest guy on the team (behind Sorber/Topic and then Cason is like half a year younger) but he hasn’t really shown any path to earning minutes on our team.
It’s entirely possible he winds up getting traded away and becoming a rosterable player on a mid tier team though, like has happened plenty of times – think Tre Mann, Vit Kreci, Ty Jerome etc.
They could probably trade him. Some team would take a chance on him
Trade for giannis using a couple picks and some young guys and salary filler, opens up a spot for CP3
Nope.
We aint got no roster spots and aren’t about to release anyone to sign a guy who could ruin vibes.
Yeah that’s a big ask to do something nice for Chris Paul.
Disabled player exception for nikola topic? Would that allow them to sign cp3 without releasing anyone?
Just release SGA. This is the POINT GOD we’re talking about
Honestly, if you guys win another (which is frankly most likely) it’d at least cap his career on a good note and wash out this insane garbage Clips dumped over him
It’s the only chance we have to win in the west. CP3’s curse will cancel out OKC’s dominance.
(I’m coping)
Yes, straight back to the Hornets.
If Chris Paul signs with the Thunder then I will actually root for the Thunder to win
IIRC, a huge portion of why we wanted to go back to the Clippers was that his family is still in LA - they’ve been located there since his original stint with the Clippers.
If he wants to keep that arrangement, he’d better be knocking on the Lakers door or it’ll just be a repeat of the last few years.
We thought JJ alone was yelling a lot, imagine these two basketball sickos (as they call each other) yelling at everyone together
While Luka yells at the refs 😍
While LeBron chills out with the opposing team’s bench
Its all just one big yelling match
Last banana boat guy LeBron hasn’t played with.
We don’t need anything Chris Paul brings, no thanks.
What team would want him? He’s washed.
His leadership is only good for young teams that need some growth, but does he want to be on those teams?
Like you have to be real special type of asshole to get booted out of your own retirement tour. Even Kobe understood that you can’t be a locker room poison in his last season.
We can take him. Our team is relatively young, he can mentor Ajay, Cason and Topic.
I’m just waiting for the tape to come out by RDCworld1 to see what happened in the locker room.
Imagine him becoming a peewee coach. Screaming at a 5 year old about taking charges.
As a Lakers fan, I hope OKC picks him up so he can take his CP3 curse with him.
If clippers want to do right by him, send him over to the Lakers with DJJ. We’ll give you a slightly used gabe Vincent.
I was told that he actually wants to try out the MLB
That’s the American Ohtani BP2, not CP3.
I think I read somewhere he’s friends with Mookie Betts and they go bowling together
He is washed
Go to the pels. Mentor Fears. Try and get the best out of Zion
Teams tripping over themselves in the race to sign a cooked 40 year old who was so annoying to be around that his current team is paying him to go away.
Timberwolves could use him in the playoffs when the game slows down. Have him & Conley rotate for 20 min each night
FREE CP!
Kind of want the cavs to get him. We’ve looked lost this season. Wouldn’t hurt to have a stern voice in the locker room.
Well if he wants to be close to his family……like he said last year with us…..is this not the perfect time to go be with your family? Dude has been saying that but has been putting it off for years now lol
Release ous onto the league and get Paul the ring okc.
It doesn’t matter what he wants. He’s cooked and he better start looking for another job
I mean, who would want to go out like that? Especially after the career he’s had. He deserves better
Lol he should go to the Lakers.
This is wild. Despite how you feel about him you can’t deny his impact on the game. It would be a shame if this is how he goes out (not on his own terms), but a reality of the CBA and aprons that you don’t wanna risk it for a player in this position. I wouldn’t be surprised if this stems a Chris Paul Rule in the next CBA or something where a HOF player announces his retirement and their salary only counts as half for cap space or something.
Some old heads dont want to let go…of that paycheck.
Wtf, yall should be happy to have players like cp3 or Westbrook still play.
They’ve made 200m+, they don’t care about an extra 3m.
Hats off to those guys for just wanting to play still for the love of the game. I’d rather have a million cp3/lowry/temples than Beal/Wall type bums
“They’ve made 200m+, they don’t care about an extra 3m.“
Right. Because people with money never want more money.
I mean it’s all perspective ya know. Westbrook and Chris Paul used to make 15x that basically. Probably helps but overall they just love the game they grew up playing
You know just as much about them as I do.
I mean yeah but like they are both pretty undersized and had to bust their ass to make it in basketball. I don’t know how many first ballot hall of famers, who aren’t shaq sized, didn’t love the game.
They dont care enough about that 3m to travel and play a long hard season
You don’t know what they care about.
Few million dollars per year to work out and sit on the bench? Shiiiiiit
