[Highlight] Karl-Anthony Towns passes to himself over Moussa Diabaté, drives and dunks it (with replays). Knicks and Hornets commentaries
I can’t believe it happened again lmao
It surely can’t happen again.
Narrator: it can, in fact, happen again.
Are you referring to the Heat game or did he do it another time?
Can we name this specific travel after Karl-Anthony Towns?
SECOND time he’s done this and gotten away with it😭
Honest question Is it a travel tho?
He never dribbled and the ball left his hands before he stepped.
Obviously it looks…. Well…. Whatever that was…. Is it a travel tho?
I don’t think so, because he didn’t dribble before throwing himself the pass, and the ball hit the floor before he caught it. So it’s kind of like a dribble, isn’t it?
Once you have clear possession and you don’t have a/finished your stopping motion, you have to dribble before lifting your pivot. From what I understand - I might be wrong.
Yes. You cannot lift your pivot foot without releasing the ball first UNLESS you are shooting or passing. If you shoot or pass the ball you cannot be the next person to touch the ball. Basketball 101.
To note, though, the NBA has basically not been calling the more common example of this violation (Lifting the pivot foot before releasing the ball for a dribble) because they don’t care about traveling. The general consensus I’ve heard from former players is that you cannot stop attackers with quick first step from getting an angle on you if this rule is not called correctly.
well, you can throw the ball ahead before you dribble, let it bounce and then dribble it properly. players actually do that usually on a fastbreak and usually with a backspin
so refs must have interpreted it like that instead of a pass or a shot. that’s the only explanation i can think of
lol it’s that new age “skill” this sub talks about 🤣wonder why everyone scores 30? The rules on offense are debatable 💀this shit is a double dribble!
The KATravel
The KAT walk
This is the only answer

Edit:
The NBA put the headline photo from this play, on League Pass, once you enter the game.
Like with no shame, LOL
Thank you

Can you clip the hukporti clip when he passes on a dunk to pass to Mcbride for the open 3 which he misses. But then later you can see kolek telling hukporti to “DUNK THE FUCKING BALL”
its such a weird mix of being goofy and super talented
Everything about him feels kinda chubby
Some of you say the weirdest shit when you see KAT on your screens
NBA rules clearly state, ‘a player is not allowed to be the first to touch his own pass unless the ball touches his backboard, basket ring or another player.’
So the only argument here is if it was a pass or a dribble. Pretty hard to argue that’s a dribble imo but to be fair the NBA rules define a dribble as, ‘movement of the ball, caused by a player in control, who throws or taps the ball on the floor.’
I guess the refs just get to interpret shit like this however they see fit
Rule of cool says its good.
Regardless of it being deemed a dribble or pass/shot it is a violation. If considered a dribble it would be a double dribble, if a pass/shot it would be a travel. Refs here simply thought Diabate touched the ball.
It wouldn’t be a double dribble. It’s totally allowed to start a dribble with two hands, you just aren’t allowed to continue to dribble with two hands.
Wasn’t a pass, it was a shot attempt that he lost control of, he was clearly in a shooting motion. The ball also hit the floor before he touched it again, and he immediately dribbled. I guess that could be a travel if you take the strictest interpretation of the rule, but that’s a super hard call to make on the floor, it could easily look like the ball got touched from their angles. I prefer they don’t call ultra minute stuff like that and let them keep playing
How many self-assists does Giannis have this season
lmaoo I love KAT
Miss you big fella
Bro did it again…
Mfs finding new ways to let NBA players travel
Why are Pepe saying this is a travel? He hasn’t dribbled yet, it’s just a long first dribble
Let’s say that i humor your claim…you still cant dribble with both hands.
He only dribbled with one hand after the initial release.
He’s not dribbling yet when he has both hands on the ball though, no?
KAT catches the pass, maintains his “pivot” foot until he starts the “dribble” by “throwing the ball to the floor” (over Diabaté’s head). KAT then takes an additional dribble off the bounce, into the gather, and dunks it.
Might be legit by the letter of the bylaws?
Starting your dribble with both hands is perfectly fine. That’s exactly what a power dribble is. It’s continuing to dribble with both hands after you’ve started that’s illegal.
Is this fr? I was hoping it was AI

How is that not a double dribble ?
People in here unironically debating whether this is a travel or not makes me ashamed to be a part of the human race.
Why wouldn’t it be a travel? I have always seen someone avoid touching the ball first off their own airball.
lol they’ve never played irl, 2k is probably the closest they’ve gotten to a basketball court
