It appears for a whole season it has happened three times: these Nuggets, the 18-19 Warriors (Curry, Klay, and KD) and the 61-62 Lakers (West, Baylor, Rudy LaRusso[!]).

If people pay attention Murray actually steps up a lot on defense in the playoffs. He’s just a playoff riser in several aspects
Definitely underrated on that side of the ball. Even when he’s sitting, he’s got that clutch Heat Pack defense.
It can be, and is, both. Murray is a great scorer when he pops off but he also routinely lets opposing teams guards light the nuggets up, which means on average it nets out. Klay could at least offer high level defense on the days his shot wasn’t falling, but when Murray’s not scoring he doesn’t contribute a whole lot except iso letting jokic not have to do everything

This is completely untrue. He has notably done a lot of things when his shot isn’t falling. I’d say that’s sort of been the story of the last two years even. Whether it’s defense or, more often, really high level playmaking for other guys, he is absolutely not a one-trick-pony.

Bubble Murray is on another planet. He had a 50 point game with 0 FTs on 21-25 FG from the field (84%). Steph’s never had a game that efficient over 50.
We just see Bubble/Playoff Murray like 2x a year (if that), and Steph’s a lot more consistent than that.
Fair enough. I guess it also helps that other teams are more concerned with guarding Jokic first, which opens him up for better looks. Same reason Klay has the record for 3’s and not Steph, Steph got Klay more looks while teams were trying to guard him.

Early before the bubble and right around it, people thought Murray was the better player and going to have a better career than Jokic. Then Jokic took a massive step the next year when Murray and MPJ got hurt. Jokic spiked his usage that year which turned him from a 20/10/6 guy to a 26/12/9 guy.

His problem was injuries. He didn’t get to recover last offseason. He played through injuries in Olympics and last season.
He was back in form the second half of last season averaging 23/4/6 on 50/40/90.
He had a proper off season and now he is in the best form of his life.
